How quickly we forget the situation a year ago after the Colts made their annual playoff exit in January. Edge decided to take the money and run while the "idiot kicker" moved on to browner pastures in Dallas and subsequently, well, nowhere. I wonder what these two will be thinking as they watch Peyton take down a Lombardi without them. My how one season can change a person's perspective on things. The Colts were supposed to be done without James...

I hope both guys enjoy the game. Go Colts!

James is still a very good back, he's just playing behind a terrible line. I don't think LDT would have played all that much better than Edge in Arizona.

Edge knew what was up. Polian locked up other players long term and chose not to do so with him. Careers are short, and he got his coin. I don't fault him for that at all. As far as Vandy is concerned, he went from being one of the most accurate PKs around to being totally unreliable in Dallas. He earned his spot on his sofa.

Indy might still lose the Superbowl. And if that is the case, Vandy and Edge can never be known as Superbowl losers. Brilliant!

What is your point? Edge knew exactly what he was getting into. He obviously went for the money and I'm sure is very happy about it right now.

Agree with all of this.

Actually, that would be kind of maudlin for Vanderjagt. Nobody liked him, so even if they won the Superbowl it would still be him in a corner pouring champange over his own head because no one else would do it, pretending to enjoy himself but vaguely feeling that he's not really a part of this.

....Unless he kicked the game winner in overtime. And even then it probably only went to overtime because he missed the game winner in regulation.
