Value of Kevin Curtis going forward (1 Viewer)

So is everyone experiencing the Kevin Curtis >> draft day Reggie Brown syndrome in their league?

I don't own either but was curious as to what Curtis' value is in your league and what you have shopped/traded/or been offerred?

I am seeing that he has vaulted to WR2 and leaped above those he was below last week, e.g. Santonio Holmes value and Brandon Marshall -

Thoughts?

If McNabb is truly back and that wasnt a fluke game against a terrible D, Curtis will porbably put up solid #2WR numbers. Good news that most people have him as #3WR.

Problem is that if McNabb remains inconsistant, Curtis only has value as a Mid to low end #3WR.

It's early, and one big game... but I see him taking the role that Stallworth had last year, though I see him as a better option then Stallworth.

I'm not worried about consistency from McNabb, I'm more worried about Injury... if he stays healthy, I think he and Curtis are going to have some big games...

He's getting the majority of targets, he has big play ability, he's in a pass happy offense, and the offense is capable of putting up a ton of points. Of course there is risk, but his upside is too great IMO to even consider moving him for his current trade value.

I see McNabb spreading the ball around much more so than locking in on Curtis. Curtis will likely have a few big games, but Brown will likely as well, and perhaps even Avant.

There doesn't seem to be a true go-to guy, so perhaps it's like the old Thrash/Pinkston days, but a marked upgrade from those guys. Great for McNabb owners, but frustrating for WR owners.

You beat me to it.Put Westbrook in at 25 and I like Curtis going forward.

Fair enough, but the big differential mainly stems from all Curtis, all the time last week (14 targets to 2 for Brown).I guess it depends on whether one views last week as a trend or an aberration that will change as more coverage is rolled towards Curtis.

I was offered Curtis/Foster for Javon Walker this morning.

I have no use for Foster, but see Curtis as a nice WR3 or bye week guy...He does get a ton of looks but he's a fidget. The only fidget I want is Steve Smith.

My Current WRs are 85, Driver, Walker...now if the owner offered me a better RB....maybe

Not true. Curtis had 11 in week two which was three more than Brown, and had 5 in week one which was one less than Brown. This is a 3 week trend and not just a one week deal. Curtis appears to clearly be the #1.

It's only been 3 games. If I was an opposing defense, I would be more apt to neutralize Reggie Brown than Kevin Curtis to start the season. As a result, McNabb is taking what is there. Now that Curtis has shown he can produce... What this does, imo, is draw more attention to Curtis as a legitmate threat in the Eagles passing game then he has gotten thus far. IMO, from this point forward, Curtis or Brown will emerge on a weekly basis, not just Curtis - think Stallworth/Reggie last year.Pure #'s simple show trend, but they need to be placed into context.

The key here is targets...Curtis is incredibly undervalued in most leagues, even with the huge blowup game.

and the types of targets...even in the 1st two games Curtis was getting the deep targets and they missed on those due to timing/accuracy. Brown is getting the shallower/underneath routes. It wasn't surprising at all to me that Curtis blew up, I certainly didn't think 3 tds and 200+ yards but was thinking 130-2 if McNabb was able to get his accuracy together against the awful Lions defense. He should have a field day this weekend against the Giants as well.

McNabb mentioned this week that the coveage last week was rolled towards Brown so he went more to Curtis. The only guy I would consider a "go to" in this offense is Westbrook. I like Curtis but think he will be very erratic on a week to week basis. He has yet shown the ability to consistently beat press coverage when facing a decent corner (which Detroit doesn't have).

Curtis could of exploded last MNF as well if McNabb was able to throw the ball right.... and yeah this weekend should be nice.

Curtis is the only WR I'd look at on that team - and that's iffy. The Eagle receivers are just so hard to predict. I looked at one 4 game stretch of Brown's last year and it was putrid.

1-13-0

1-18-0

2-31-0

2-9-1

All but one of those games was with McNabb in there (hurt in 3rd game of that stretch). Sorry, I just can't start a guy like that.

So maybe Curtis is the new Stallworth of that offense - I may take a flier and try to trade for him. The others are just junk

As long as McNabb and Westbrook are healthy, Curtis should be a hot property. Between play action and the need to spy Westbrook (and McNabb) on passing plays, Curtis is likely to face a lot of single coverage, and he can beat average-or-worse corners head-to-head. Plus McNabb has the deep ball to take advantage of it.

I'm not predicting any more 221-3 games, of course, but I think 1200-10 for the season is realistic.
