Had mine done Friday. Easier than I would have thought. No pain during. The doc and I chit chatted the entire time, and he had the tv on so we were watching the news coverage of the manhunt for the Boston bomb suspects. Took it easy all weekend, no pain meds or anti inflamatories needed. Took Monday off because I could. Back at work on Tuesday with no problems. Still two days away from unloading the first round. Worst part of the whole thing is the hair growing back, like needles.

had mine done on Friday too. did nothing all weekend, then played golf Monday with only slight discomfort. balls are still a little tender but getting better everyday.
I chatted with the doc the whole time too. the numbing shots hurt, then his first jab didn't feel good so he put more numbing stuff on me and then I was good to go, although I was pretty tense the whole time waiting for a sharp pain to hit. pretty relieved its over at this point.

Just had my consultation...was all of 10 minutes or so not including paperwork. I'm scheduled from 2 weeks from tomorrow.
I had to push him to give me a script for Valium for before and to write me a script for pain pills for after. He didn't want to, but I pushed the issue so he did.
ETA: Should 10mg do the trick to relax me?

Just got back. Really wasn't a big deal at all. I will say that I'm really glad I got that Valium to relax me before. The appt. was scheduled for 10, but didn't end up starting until around 12 or so b/c of some complications with another procedure the doctor was doing. Without the valium, I would have probably been an anxious mess.
The needles were pretty much exactly like getting a filling in a cavity, just a few quick pricks. I'm not a big fan of hearing the conversation b/w the doctor and nurse...only b/c in my head, I'm wondering what if the local wears off...I know exactly what they're doing. Stupid, I know; but whatchagonnado?
All in all, pain/discomfort was about a 2/10...no big deal. Have the jock strap on now and am about to put the peas on

Had mine done last October. They purposefully prescribe Valium at my place (10 mg), but I don't think it really did a thing. I wasn't all that nervous. Wasn't exactly comfortable and at one point I could feel some pressure, but as soon as I said something he used more "local anesthetic" and all was good. Wife ended up driving me home. Recommendation: wear tighty-wighties for a few days and keep gauze down there. The worst part for me wasn't any pain - there was very little of that, despite being prescribed Oxycodone. It was the stiches. MAN those hurt as they dug in................... *cough*

So it it standard pratice to send the sample back in or does a guy just roll the dice, I like to gamble so I am considering rolling the dice.
Also one cut or two cuts for you guys? I only got one cut and was surprised by that, he difinaetly cut two tubes though, I felt that second one like a mofo. I thought the first 12 hours after was awful...

I could not make the call myself, just couldn't do it for some stupid reason, I had my boss do it. He really hammed up that conversaion too, told the lady the wife won't even touch me until I get this done and a bunch of other stupid stuff. I had to wait two damn months to get in....

I'll say I'm 3ish years post mine. I have noticed that I cannot wear boxers on a day to day basis anymore. I called my dr. about this and he said that in 10% of vasectomy cases the tubes that are cut are actually structural rather than just there to carry sperm. It causes minor discomfort in the sac.
So it's been somewhat a pain in the summer as I get a horrible case of onion crotch wearing briefs.

Exactly.
It is such an easy procedure. Especially if your girlfriend or wife has gone through having your kid--this surgery is the absolute least thing you could do for her.
Oh darn, I get to sit on the couch for two days and watch moves or play video games. Tough call.
I'm 36 and don't want kids. She's 26 and is currently on my side about not having kids. We've been together for just over a year. We don't live together but I foresee this being a long, long-term relationship. It's possible we still change our minds about having kids -- even though I'm completely against it at this point -- and she's young enough that it would be an option for a while, which is another reason I'm hesitant to get the vasectomy over her getting the IUD at this point.

Well I went from boxers to under armor type compression underwear.
It's been an adjustment, but not the end of the world. And it's only a small % of cases.
My balls hung super low (at least compared to pr0n) and the one that bothered me hung lower, not sure if that is correlated in any way at all.

Yep. Got mine I think 3 or 4 years ago. It's nothing. And the best thing is I can *** anywhere, any time, on or in anyone and I'm good. Except at the park. I was told I shouldn't be doing that.
