Headed down the first week of October, staying at Bellagio.  Cliffs on must see/do things besides the holy trinity of gambling/sexing/indulging?

Going down 3rd week myself at the Mirage.  Wife will be a conference during daytime

Absinthe is moving to Cosmopolitan before the end of the year. I may never leave that property when I visit Vegas.
I enjoyed that show..  not as much as "o" or "le reve"   but it was still pretty impressive

I like NL poker but kinda suck so I'm looking for cheapo ($50-$75) daytime tourneys. I see a bunch listed on pokeratlas.com but do you guys have recommendations on which location is better (ie, non-smoking, crappier competition, etc.)?

First thing to do is cancel the reservation at that over rated dump.

wat?   I got a great rate and love the location.  Llike $125 a night.  Plus I love the central location.

Give me something I can use man!
I hate that place.  4 years ago (not 10, 20) I checked in and did a $50 sandwitch trick.  Got upgraded to a JR suite.  The room was a half mile from the elevator.  The toilet seat was worn out to the point where the paint was worn off.  It had a 1980's Sony trinitron tube TV in the room.  When my wife and I went to gamble we were ignored by the dealers because we were only $10-$25 players.

I think that place sucks eggs.

Casino is amazing and great place to play. I've played 10-25 stakes there probably 50 times without issue.  Great sbook. At this point, tons of places have nicer, better rooms though if you care.

That show has gotten great reviews, but I've never heard of it before. I'll be staying at Caesars at the end of this month and hope to catch a show.
Do it. It's fantastic. I don't want to oversell it, but the comedy is top notch and the gymnastic feats are very impressive too.

That blows, what did they replace it with?
Well, they moved the craps tables to the back after they put in the new bar (and the William Hill sportsbook), I think that was like 6 months ago.

Yesterday I was there, and there was only 1 craps table in the back, looks like BJ tables where the other craps table was. And of course the 3-4-5x odds, it was a $3 min though during the day. I asked when all this happened, and they said yesterday. Of course, CR has the unfriendliest dealers, so they weren't too forthcoming with the details.

Second most unfriendly dealers behind the Bellagio.

Do any of you Vegas locals/regulars have rankings, reviews, recommendations for buffets?
People always suggest going around 2 - 2:30PM to avoid the longest lunch lines and still be able to stick around for dinner foods. Any other insider tips?

The wynn is my favorite buffet for dinner. Paris is my favorite for breakfast and Planet Hollywood is for Lunch.

The loft at cabo wabo is a hidden gem. Tons of tv's and no minimum. I always worry it wont be open anymore since it is always dead. One time they just gave me the remote since we were the only people up there. We always verify the day before that it is still open.
Heading to Vegas Vet's Day Weekend. Staying at Venetian. Think we're gonna fo their book until noon or so then head...somewhere. We are pretty cheap so leaning away from Place's like Lagasse's or Twin Peaks that charge a high minimum. One buddy wants to head down to Fremont to find a "quaint" (cheap) bar to watch from noon on. Would you recommend a place like Cabo Wabo instead? Or even just heading to Westgate where we know we can get seats and cheap deli?

OR, any places around Fremont like he wants to find?

If you have a vehicle with you and are willing to go on a 15-20 minute drive--the buffet at the M hotel and resort is hands down amazing.    It's on the far South Side of Las Vegas Blvd--just off of St. Rose Parkway.   From any regular strip hotel--you'd take the 15 South bound and exit St. Rose Parkway.  You'll hang a left onto St. Rose--and it's literally a rock's throw from the freeway.   It's a bit pricey--but trust me--it's worth it.

I dont know about fremont so I cant speak to that. If you are going to cabo maybe just check in the day before to verify they still open up the loft. It has always been so dead that I fear they will just close it down. I will be there opening weekend so I can verify too. It wasn't cheap to build so I dont see them just aborting mission, but it has to be a big loser for them. Just crazy how you basically have your own area and your own bartender. Not sure what time seattle plays the weekend you are going but that has been the only x factor there. Seems to be a seahawks fan meetup place. Although even that is just like 20 people and they only care about the main big TV. I find them quite entertaining too. They hang on every play. Cheer for tackles, punts inside the 20, etc. If I had a lot of money going the other way though it would be annoying.

Downtown doesn't really have "destination" sportsbooks, but the Golden Nugget and the Plaza have relatively large, comfortable spaces. Another Strip option is the just-opened Nacho Daddy, on the Harmon side of Planet Hollywood.

Funny, Nacho Daddy was my friend's suggestion around Fremont. Would be quicker to buzz up to that one by PH. Thanks!

Was trying to find pics of The Loft and came across these.  This is the place, right?

Yep. Looks very different on your average day. What's funny is now I understand all the random crap you walk past when you go to the bathroom.

That corner TV has stadium seating in front of it on gameday. That big window has a projection screen over it and couches in front.

Proposing to my gf next Wednesday when we wake up then her and I are hopping a flight to Las Vegas.  Our families are meeting us out there Thursday for the George Strait concert on Friday. She thinks her and I are heading out Thursday, but I talked to her boss to get her Wednesday off and so we will have 2 days/one night alone before everyone else gets there.  Suggestions on things to do, places to eat?  Maybe a nice dinner/show on Wednesday night?  Anything else?  We are staying at MGM Grand if that matters.  I know, not the best hotel, but I'm paying for 6 rooms so it is what it is!  Thanks guys

The safe is in the bottom drawer of the nightstand and the button for the shades needs to be held down for a few seconds. Took me about a day to figure those two things out so thought I would pass it on in case you end up in a similar room.

Tom Colicchio's Craftsteak is at the MGM. Had a nice meal there in June.
