Tell me how this sounds for a bachelor party. Bear in mind gentlemen's establishments will be visited in an unorganized and unscheduled fashion due to future brother in law attendence.
Thur: Arrive / Open and nothing scheduled
Fri: Get $60 Palms VIP wristbands w/ the linecut privledges. Ditch Fridays that day. Rain/Ghostbar/Playboy/Moon that night. Bounce around.
Sat: Cabana @ Flamingo Go Pool. Dinner @ Rao's. Tables @ Tryst.
Sun: Open and nothing scheduled

I'd love to go to Rehab on Sunday, but I'm not into waiting in line 3 hours @ 9am after that Saturday we've got planned, nor do I want to spend $1500 on a cabana.

I can't even fathom 4 nights like that. I'm pretty sure I'd look like an earthquake victim.
If you are there to look at hotties, then go elsewhere. Went there last August with some buddies, and on the whole, not very attractive. There were a couple here and there, but not much.From earlier, I have also tried the handheld betting units at Venetian/Palazzo were awesome. Great to have the ability to bet on sports in the middle of the game. Even had a few table games if you are willing to give that a try.

Anyone with any experiences at the LV Hilton? Looks like good rates on rooms and suites, large sportsbook, monorail to the strip (anyone know where it lets out?), places to grub. Probably an older crowd, especially if there is a big convention going on?

it's an older hotel and you probably won't want to spend much time in the casino. monoroil can take you up to MGM or a bunch of other places along the way.

A lot of the rooms have been nicely renovated - I'm a Hilton Honors member and I always get a nice room .. along with free breakfast buffet for 2 and it is not that bad of a buffet. Sportsbook is big and for big events they open up the theater for extra seating. Casino is smaller but I like it for that and it's a very friendly staff, pool is very small for the size of the hotel and a big negative. The monorail is right there inside the hotel and it is easy on easy off. In fact I stayed there one time for a show that was at MGM and it was easier for me to catch the monorail and get dropped off in the back of MGM by their convention center then staying in the MGM and walking forever through the hotel, thru the casino, thru the mall to the back. Cabs always seem easy to get - I've never seen a really bad line. When you get back from strip at end of the night I like the quieter vibe of the place and find it a positive - except the elevators blow there - but a lot of them do in Vegas.

I stayed once and while the staff was pleasant, I felt like I was back in Laughlin. Better places on the strip IMO.

I was in Vegas a few yrs ago for March Madness and it was just that Madness. I didn't see any place that opened up their theaters for this. Excaliber opened up a bar/lounge area and had some extra TV's brought in. It's hard to find a place anywhere to sit and watch the games unless you scope it out early and stay all day or pay for reserved seats.Bobcat10 said:

Walked through a few weeks ago and would agree with most of this except the Sports Book was awesome. TV's everywhere and had a lounge/living room atmosphere to it. Unfortunately, it wasn't open when we were there though.Place is a freaking maze though. Getting in and out is a nightmare unless you take the tram and then it's still a heck of a long walk as the tram is built on the backside of the casino's. Many of the other dealers and locals we talked to said the place is losing money hand over fist.

Got back yesterday from my trip. Went to the UFC fights at Mandalay Bay, had a couple great meals, gambled a bit, and came home. Overall, a great trip. Two things in particular:
1. We stayed at the Trump. I was very leery of staying there because they had no casino, but we got stuck with it through our Priceline bid. I was pleasantly surprised. The rate was very good (120 per night for SB weekend) which was much cheaper than any of the higher end hotels. The no casino thing was strange, but oddly soothing. After a night of partying, it was actually kind of pleasant to go to the hotel and not deal with the noise, smoke, and action of a casino. We could walk right to the elevators and go up to our room.
The rooms were pretty nice. They weren't Venetian nice, but they were very clean, big, and nice. There was a TV embedded on the mirror in the bathroom. It was cool. The view was kind of crappy, at least on the side we were on. We faced away from the strip so we saw a couple seedy strip clubs below us and the backside of Vegas. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows rocked.
My wife and her friend went the spa and spent about four hours there getting massages, etc. The cost for one person was only 200 bucks - a great deal. She said it was an outstanding spa and really enjoyed it.
We did not eat at the hotel, but they do have a couple restaurants. The workout facility looked decent, and the pool is nothing fancy, but it is fine for 40 year old adults looking to chill.
Trump is also very close to the Wynn. We timed the walk from the inside the lobby of Trump to inside the lobby of the Wynn and it was 9 minutes, so that's really not too bad.
Overall, the Trump was better than I expected, and I missed the casino less than I expected. I am not sure if I would do it again, but I wouldn't be totally opposed.
2. Dinner at Mix at Mandalay Bay. Guys, this place totally rocks. I have eaten at LOTS of different nice restaurants all across the country, and I had one of the best meals of my life at Mix. The views are great, the service was great, and the food was out of this world. If you have the chance to go, you really should. It's a bit pricey (total bill for four, including tip was $600), but I would happily pay that kind of cash for another dinner like we had there. I can't recommend it enough.

Good to hear. Just booked reservations for Friday Night (7pm) of March Madness Weekend. Really looking forward to it. Found a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate for $50 off 2 Prix Fixe menu dinners ($90-115) so it works out very well. Figure it will cover tax/tip essentially. What did you order? I'm torn between the "Taste of Mix" or "Grand Tasting" options. Likely also going to set up reservations for either the PRime Rib Loft at Orleans or Lawry's out off Tropicana for a good Prime Rib dinner one night as well. Rest of the time will be chowing on the cheap to conserve the majority of my 3-4K bankroll for GAMBOOL'n

Yeah Mix is a great place to take the wimmens. Been there three times for dinner and a few more to just do the bar thing.

We didn't do the fixed menu because my wife is allergic to shellfish and it was loaded with it. We probably would have done that with the wine pairing, but if you do that menu it has to be for the whole table.I had shrimp cocktail to start (best shrimp cocktail ever - very unique). For dinner I had the special, which was a fillet topped with foie gras and truffles. It had an amazing sauce on it too. It was $75, but I would have paid twice that. It was simply outstanding. For desert, my wife and I split the chocolate candy bar, which was also superb.My wife had the beef rib appetizer, which was like eating a #######g fudgesicle. It was great. She got the peppercorn fillet without the fancy stuff on it. I would recommend the fillet without the peppercorn, as I tried a taste of hers and liked mine better. But hers was still great.My buddy had the scallops, and he really liked them. He is a pretty picky eater and has "been around" so if he says they are good, I would take his word for it.We had the mashed potatoes (awesome), mushrooms (very good and different), and mac and cheese (didn't get too deep into that because we were all pretty full) for our side dishes.Just an outstanding dinner. Just got back and yep...my wife can still spend money faster than I can win it.
Stayed at the Venetian, nice suite, being able to watch College hoops on the bathroom TV while taking a shower was a plus. For the price, didn't get the "wow" factor I should have considering price was nearly 3X a similar sized suite at Bally's. Maid Service and Desk help was top notch.
Sportsbook there was adequate, and the dealers were very generous with drink tickets if you toked them a couple of bucks. Good thing too, as a bottle of Newcastle at the Sportsbook bar was $7. They didn't carry a lot of lines, so I had to trek over to Caesars (also generous with the drink tickets) to play my bread and butter games like Youngstown State / Wis-Milwaukee. The Mirage had a surprisingly good book, with good lines and faux leather loungers and loveseats. Stingy with the drink tickets though (Didn't get my first one until I bet $150).
Took a little walk down to the City Center / Aria area, and gave up looking for the casino after walking past miles of shops.
Jimmy Buffett's is still a good time. Learned to check the bar area first for a pub table, which saves standing in line for an hour on some nights. Stopped in for a quick rita and an appetizer a couple of times.
For the thrifty, Bill's has 99 cent Newcastle drafts, O'Sheas has dollar Guiness drafts, and Royale still has the $1 Michelob special (also have the $1 slurpee they call a margarita). The little stripmall t-shirt shops used to be good for bottle prices, but they've shot up recently as well (save maybe 50 cents on what the same bottle would cost you at the more convenient liquor store near Harrahs). There's also a Walgreens in the Venetian, which was handy for us on a 7 day trip.
Nothing foodwise really excited me, although we had a nice meal in the Venetian at a Mexican place that overlooks the gondola route. Had an outstanding $7 Almond Mocha milkshake at BLT(?) the Burger joint next to Rhumbar at the Mirage. The foodcourt on the other side of the Venetian sportsbook was surprisingly good. The asian noodle place right next to the book was rather bland though. We didn't really "destination dine", just stopped in at whatever restaurant/buffet was around (within reason) when we got hungry.
They no longer brew their own beer at the pub at the Monte Carlo. EXCELLENT tap selection though, as I was able to have a pint of Delirium Tremens...don't see that on tap very often.
Caught the Mystere Cirque show, as well as Penn & Teller which were both solid. They were giving away Mac King tickets (well, for a one drink minimum) on Saturday in that Harrah's kiosk shop area. Not a bad show, but I was kinda ripped.
Oh, and what you've all been waiting for, best public bathroom toilet paper? Mirage in a landslide. Venetian public (and room) TP was that chiffon thin single ply stuff your grandparents buy because they're on a fixed income.

A few Notes:
1) The $5 BJ means not that there's guaranteed $5 BJ (esp during March Madness when I'll be there). Just that there might be.
2) Properties are color coded (Blue = MGM - Tan = HET)
3) Red Dollar signs are good sportsbooks to hit (either NICE, Good with drinks, or have poker room nearby). Suggestions on any I might have missed that fit that criteria. Per statorama's notes, I've added droplets next to the books to indicate good or bad drink ticket service.
4) I've color coded the poker games as Green (Juicy as hell) or Red (avoid = Nitty/tough competition). Black is neutral. I will be playing at Venetian and possibly meeting Assani for some play at the Wynn for some drunken 1/3NL one night as well (if he's back from Commerce by then).

I've played in several of the 1/2 games along the strip and the MGM 1/2 from about 10 PM to early morning is as juicy as it gets. If you want, I have an excel spreadsheet of the places I played and my win-rates. MGM is by far the highest despite the limited buy-in. You may also want to consider the all-day buffet deals they have going on. MGM buffet all day for 40 bucks is a steal.

Love that place, it's the one restaurant we always hit when in Vegas.So City Center is fully complete? I see reviews of the casino but has anyone stayed yet at Aria? Prices aren't that bad up against Wynn and Bellagio.

Absolutely agree on both parts. That deli has been a savior for a few of my trips, espcially the "guys only" trips when I'm in full gamble/watch games mode.edit: Although I will say, the deli was better (and a bit different) before they did some renovation in the sportsbook area. Didn't they actually make the book smaller? Mandalay also has a good quick eatery next to their sportsbook.

Yep, I believe they don't have this promo during the weekends or holidays but I did it a few months back when my mom flew out and we were there mid-week. Absurd value considering MGM's buffet is legit.

Added. Reviews on Allvegaspoker.com are consistent with what you're saying. I like the 200-600max buyin for the 2/4NL game as well.Also added "Good 6D BJ" on casinos notated by American Casino Guide to have the following Shoe games:
• Dealer Stand Soft 17 • Double After Split • Resplitting of Aces • Late Surrender (Typically $50hand+)
• Dealer Hit Soft 17 • Double After Split • Resplitting of Aces • Late Surrender (Typically $10hand+)
Also called out the few known casinos with Single 0 Roulette (often $25 min and up).

In theory I don't like it. If I have some drunk fish at my table pushing money around, I want him to have as many chips as possible. However, the key to the relatively small buy-in limit is the way people treat the game - they go broke quickly, tilt, and stupidly buy in for 100 per buy-in instead of the max. Given the high percentage of multi-way pots in the looser game, you actually have value and don't need to be so worried about tightening up your hand-ranges when playing with these smaller stacks. The low-limit also makes these games a far less risk whereas, as has happened to Caesar's, TI, Venetian, etc. on a few occassions, you either get outplayed or bad beated in a much bigger pot that essentially erases hours of solid play.
when I was out in September, I bought in for $100 at the $1/2 NL table at Mandalay Bay, and I think I left with $900 later that night. Love that room. MGM, Mandalay Bay, and the Venetian are my favorite rooms on the strip.

Interesting but doesn't look too big: http://www.vegas.com/gaming/sportsbooks/harrahs.html#Wish they'd have left the BJ/CRAPS tables out (sure to have crappy payouts/odds) and put in more seating. If I want to play BJ while watching the game, I'll sit at the BJ tables and request the pit to put the game on there.
