Is this accurate for the Treasure Island sportsbook? Is there a min play?

http://www2.vegas.com/gaming/sportsbooks/treasureisland.html

Food and drinks: Cocktails are complimentary to players. Food is available at Canter's Deli, which is located adjacent to the Race and Sports Book.
I checked a few other sportsbooks on vegas.com to make sure the comment above wasn't for table games or something like that and it seems these sportsbook pages are just about the sportsbooks.edit: Same goes for Monte Carlo apparently.

We just booked TI for Mar 17-19. It was like 39/59/129 for the 3 nights...not sure if my friend used a players card or if those are the rates right now.....
Considering TI along with Harrah's now. They slashed rates. From March 18th for four nights it is 69/109/99/69 plus 34 for taxes. I'm pretty sure they will hit you with a $20/night resort fee when you check in that is not listed when you purchase the room. ####ers.

LOL....Treasure Island just south of Minneapolis? I live like an hour from that. I'm pretty sure my freind wasn't so hammered that he booked that...he's been calling a bunch of places in the last few days. The person on the phone told him no resort fee but looking at the website I'm sure it's bait and switch and we'll get charged. 4 of us in a room though=don't care, $15 is like one place bet on 9 rolling the dice.ETA: TI has several $50 poker tournaments per day....FBG challenge???

That could be interesting. BTW, the resort fee at the Mirage is 15 per day on top of the 115.

the poker room at TI sucks. they have $50 sit N gos, but the structure is awful so it's basically an all-in fest before too long and the payout % is low.

Oh, they are sit n gos? Damn. Was hoping they were 50+ players.
they have regular tourneys also, but I can't imagine they are worth playing. you're much better off walking across the bridge to the Venetian for all your poker needs, IMO.

I'm done searching. Booked Harrah's thru bookit.com. Total cost there was $516 for 3/18 4 nights...they gave 25% off 4 night stays so that's why it comes in so low. Plus "$1000 in extras", so I'm sure that will contain at least one deal I'll be interested in.

What is cheapest Venetian tourney?

Using my Player's Club Card, I booked the Mirage for March 19 and 20th for $115 per night. Pretty damn good rate, and I don't have to "worry" about playing six hours of poker...
PSSTCasino's Dirty Little SecretThey can't track in real time... so I can't tell you how many friends I've had book "poker rate" rooms and not play a single minute of poker. $29-49 night in tunica all day.Don't make a habit of it... but if you're not a regular: EASY

Not HET (harrahs properties : see brown in my map) will charge resort feesTI is way the #### up there. Unless you wanna spend the week at Wynn/Venetian/TI/Mirage (not a bad thing) seriously consider location.

Vegas isn't the internet. Sit n Gos are few and far between and for the most part, they suck. Check out allvegaspoker.com for tourney structures. Tons of cheap games but most under $100 have huge (20-40%) house rakes. Not that they're not worth playin... just be aware.

Oh yeah.....

+$330 in my local ghetto-### 1/2NL illegal house game tonight where I was the only grain of salt in the pepper shaker.

:bankroll:

But the places I've tried booking the poker rate require you to book the "normal" rate, then play poker, then the poker dude calls the front desk and has the rate reduced. Are there some places that just allow you to book the poker rate directly?

I'm not sure about the cheapest, but there is a nightly $120 buy-in tourney that I've played in a few times and really like. I think it starts at 7 PM. It usually gets around 80-100 or so players.ETA: Here's a link

ETA again: Here's a list of all the Venetian tournaments.

OK...looks like the TI tournaments are $63, with 30 players. Venetian has the nightly $115, with more players and a little better structure. I'm open to doing either of these as an FBG contest, but sounds like Venetian would be a better bet.

Interesting. In tunica you call the room and book with the poker host. They automatically put you down for poker rate (29-49/night) and then you play. I've gone and not played a single hand of poker without issue. I guess vegas places might do it differently.

Yeah TI Is pretty bad Structure. TI

50+13 (only 73% of the cash goes in the pot)

20 minute blinds

3500 in chips

Rebuy for first hour

Venetian @ Noon

130+15 (86% cash in pot)

+$5 optional toke = 2500 chips

30 minute blinds

5000 starting chips (+2500 = 7500 starting chips)

Freezeout

Aria @ 1pm

100+20 (83% cash in pot)

30 minute blinds

8000 starting chips

Aria is the best of the 3 IMO. More chips, slower blinds w/ higher % of pot coming back in prize money.

Well, the mirage/mgm is a little different. The way to scam that system is to pass the "book" between buddies on different shifts. All it takes is one person to hit the rate and you get it. Usually it's 6hr/day weeknights and 8/weekends. You have to fill your book or you get the rack rate. It used to be you'd get one buffet ticket for filling your book for the day as well, but from what I gather this is no longer the case. This is two years old first hand info so YMMV.

When I asked about the poker rate at the Mirage the lady told me you had to play four hours. Also, the poker rate was 200 per night, and I got 115 by booking with my player's club card.

Mirage has some pretty cool tournaments too. You can see them here.I like the Friday night at 7 PM tourney - there's a 50 dollar bounty on every player. That sounds interesting.

House take is really high on those tourneys and while the 50 dollar bounty is interesting there's no way in hell I'm tying up 7-11pm on a friday night in Vegas at the poker tables :lmao: I'm down for a noonish game for sure. Max 150 buyin.

I love O'Sheas. First place I ever gambled in Vegas.I like going back for nostalgia. A few years ago, I got hot on the craps table and took a lot of their black chips. At the time, that was their biggest chip. It may still be.

Went to O'Sheas last time I was in Vegas (Buckeyes v Gators final four weekend). $5 craps tables were packed. Played some blackjack there and drank some brews. Beer pong????

Headed to Vegas in April and staying at an off strip condo via a time share of my in-laws. My questions is do any of the strip hotels, particularly Mandalay Bay, offer admission (with or without fee) to their Pool/Beach areas??? Want to go somewhere where wife and mother-in-law can hang out by the pool, while -father-in-law and I gamble.

Also, considering driving out to the Red Rock Resort for the day if acceptable there too.

I would actually prefer a night tourney because of the basketball during the day, but am down for whatever. Being married I'm not going clubbing or anything, pretty much 24/7 drinking & gambling. Aria does sound like a great structure tohugh, and i want to go take a look at that place anyway.

I strongly dislike the TI poker room. Poor structure, dealers, and snotty regulars.

BTW, had a great stay at the Hard Rock Friday night. Booked for only 65, free upgrade to an HRH suite - simply gorgeous.

Is anyone still interested in the photos I got at the Emirl's place? I forgot I took them with my phone and not my camera. They are still decent pics.
Hell yeah! doubt we'll be able to get in for March Madness... but would like to see it regardless.
emeril picsThey wouldn't let me snap pictures of the dice pit or the black jack room that are on the top level.

These are the areas they don't really have on their website for the most part. Some images were just too shaky to use.

It's definitely a cool venue to watch sports. Not sure what the requirements are to get a seat in the "stadium" on an NFL Sunday though, do you have to tip the people at the entrance or do you need to be on a list? I did not try too hard, but I did ask and was rejected.

You need a reservation and there is a per person minimum of like 50 bucks or something like that for a 3 hour block. I don't think there is a minimum for other seating areas, but I never asked.

Anyone know what's going on this weekend in Vegas? The freaking Trop is like 160/night on Saturday.

The 11:00 TI tourney won't go, never anyone there. The 2:00 likely won't go either. The 7:00 had maybe a dozen people or so. This is last week when I was there. Never played the room. Spent all my time at Venetian. The $150 daily is the best thing going. Good structure, deeper stacks, good prize pool. Usually goes 6 to 8 hours. Does NOT go if they are having their deep stack or NAPT stuff going on, so check their tourney schedule to find out about that.
