Just booked for a 3 nighter Sept 16th-19th. 2nd Weekend of NFL Season...hopefully they will get the deal done by then.
I'm looking to book for a Sept. 8-10th trip. How far in advance is best to book to get best deals on flights and hotels?
If you are a Costco member. Go to costcotravel.comHaven't seen any other place get close. Hell, it's worth the $50 membership fee to book a trip, you'll save that on your first booking.just booked 3 nights with air at the Wynn for $380pp. Same trip on Expedia was $526
Try the biggest airline in your town's Vacation Package tab on their website. Really, any airline with nonstop Vegas flights from your town will work. Here in Phoenix, Southwest and USAirways always have the best package rates.I didn't play with the Costco link much, but it seems like it just links to the USAirways Vacations site.

Im thinking of using Patty for O tickets but had heard the Le Reve is better and I can get tickets for the same price on my own. Any opinions?

Mr and Mrs Ref will be in town June 29 - July 3, I just booked airfare. I'm not even telling her. I called her work and worked out the days off and I'm going to wake her up 1 hour before the cab gets to the house and tell her she has one hour to take a shower and pack a bag. That allone should be worth the price of admission.

I also just booked Lake View rooms at the Bellagio for the Wed-Thurs the 29 and 30 for $350. Now I need to find rooms at a different place that arent' $500 a night. She loves Paris so I'm leaning that way.

By any cance has anyone seen Penn and Teller? I don't think i have ever disagreed with anything Penn has ever said and I love the show Bull####.

I was under the impression that things were bad in the USA. I just tried to book a hotel room in most of the major 5 star hotels for the weekend of June 25th and most of them are sold out.
Vegas is the haves and the have-nots now.The top places will still fill rooms (although I bet the casino take isn't what they want), and the mid-tier places will fill up during big weekends. The real bargains are those mid-tier spots. You can get good deals at Hard Rock, Hollywood, Luxor, etc.

:goodposting: Not a high roller at all, here. But I called Planet Hollywood a week before Memorial Day weekend, and they gave me 4 nights free.

Thats what it seeems like to me as well. You can get 5* reservations during the week for an OK price but the weekends are out of hand. Meanwhile the mid tier places are great value even on weekends. Not sure what hotel I'm rolling with over the weekend yet. The Wife Loves Paris so I think that is where I will end up, but I'm looking for an excuse to try another place.

Will be going to Vegas for the first time next week, unfortunately Ill be on a very limited budget. Looking only to gamble an eat where are the cheapest table games and the best of the cheap buffets?

I saw Penn & Teller a couple of years ago and thought it was a good show...I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

If you are surprising her, and making her get ready in an hour, you might as well go to the place she likes...come on Ref.

Stay out of the cheap buffets, could wreck your trip. Casino Royale has cheap table games.

So, for hotel, what would be the best combination of female talent, location, pools, lounges/clubs and price? Will be there Sept. 8-10 (Thurs thru Saturday). Age demographic: high-20's to low-30's.

Would Palms be the best bang for the buck?

For what you are looking for I would go to the Cosmo. I stayed at Planet Hollywood Memorial Day weekend, but some friends had rooms at Cosmo so I spent a good deal of time there. I am not into the club scene, but the eye candy was ridiculous, the pools were great. Not sure about the rooms but I remember getting a couple very reasonable offers for rooms there a couple months back.

I just got back from visiting over Memorial weekend. I stayed at Caesar's and it was so so. Our room was good, but staying in the Palace Tower was a hike especially after we booked the Augustus Tower which was in the front.

I will be staying at Cosmopolitan next time. It is opposite side of Bellagio from Caesar's. Loads of talent there all hours of the day. Still love visiting the Bellagio during the day and yes it still has imo the best sports book around.

Ran into Kevin Durant at the Wynn. He nearly ran right into me as I exited the cashier line. I shook his hand and said, "What's up dude?" :bag: Had a few drinks in me at the time.

Had a really good craps run at the Palms. Also did well at Mandalay Bay. Nothing really to brag about at any of the others.

Also, had dinner at Trevi's in Caesar's and it was spectacular. If you are looking for a good meal, but not looking to break the bank Trevi's is a good spot.

peas.
easy there scupper.

Thanks, didnt realize those cheapo buffets were that bad.
Any of the Station casino buffets are great value for the money!Shuttle from Bills takes you to Orleans and Gold Coast. Gambling at Orleans, especially Poker is decent!

Thanks, I'll definitely check that out. Heard Cosmo was pretty great, but guess just assumed would be more pricey due to it being newer.

Follow up question..Is the Cosmpopoliton one of the stops on the free Tram between Aria and Bellagio, etc.? I stayed in the Aria last summer and that tram was a nice little perk to easily get from one place to another hotel.

Not sure. It is right next to the Aria and Bellagio but I have no idea if they hooked up the tram.

:bag: You sir are right...... I booked Paris for the weekend. Looks like I will spend some time at the Baileys poker room as Paris doesn't have one.

Just got back. The trim at cosmo is top tier.

Golf: Rio secco awesome. Badlands great. Siena sucked. Got shelled in craps last night for 800 in about 2hrs but had a great time anyhow. Vegas has been down the last few years but seemed to me to be on the rebound this year. Lots of people...more than usual.

LOL...atta boy Ref. I'm sure you'll still have a great time. I can't wait for my trip in Sept.

Is Peppermill worth the cab ride from the strip? Just for drinks, or dinner too? If dinner, any recommendations?
Come hungry. It's diner food, but :lmao: portion size. The ice cream sundae is big enough for 3-4 to split too.
The Fireside Lounge in the back is kind of cool in a kitschy Old Vegas way. The neon and firepit decor is straight out of 1985. The gigantic girly drinks are an acquired taste. The Peppermill is on the strip. It's walking distance from Encore, the Riv and Circus Circus. The North strip is pretty run down though with more vacant lots and unfinished properties that functioning casinos.

Oh. I thought someone said it was next to the Hilton. North Strip..... I try my best to avoid it. It's been a while though, and I do plan on checking out Fremont agian (GF never seen it), so it is on the way.

I think you are a bit confused...The Peppermill is on the strip (North Strip - by The Riveria...the Las Vegas Hilton is off the strip (behind Riveria). Fremont street is Downtown, aka Old Vegas.

Ill be out this weekend

Flamingo/Hard Rock (we usually hit the pools hard and are asleep by midnight every night).

Only other place Ill be checking out is Cosmo.

I meant the north strip is on the way downtown from the south strip, so it could be a stop on the way.Would you guys recommend breakfast or dinner?

Couple of questions:

1.) Thoughts on "Olives" at Belligio?

2.) Thoughts on "Mix" at Mandalay Bay

Am I ok in short/flips collored shirt or should i dress up more? It is going to be in the upper 90s.

Shorts/flips are okay for general gambling in the casino but not for the clubs.

I was just looking into places to go for "a deal" on food. Seems like every webiste pimps Ellis Island for $7.95. I guess it comes with all the fixings and a draft beer. Seems like it is in short walking distance of the Flamingo.

Anyone have any other "value" places to hit for food between MGM and the IP.

The Ellis Island steak dinner continues to stand tall in the face of some serious competition, but we also continue to field testimonials, as we have for more than a decade, like the following. “We’ve been going to Vegas for 18 years. We finally made it to Ellis Island and I’m sorry we didn’t get there sooner. The steak special was excellent. The service was excellent. We’re looking forward to going back on our next trip.”

I want a reason to go to Mandalay bay this trip and I was looking at going to Mix. Looks a bit high scale for my taste.

The mini food court at Flamingo has pizza and burgers that taste pretty darn good at 2AM and hammered. Any other time of day, it's probably awful.

They have the best seafood buffet on the strip if you are into buffets and like seafood.

I hit the foundation room over MWD, it was pretty cool, not that crowded, not really clubby either.

Baileys has $2 tacos, $2 tequila, $2 beer, $20 gallon size chick drinks at some Mexican bar near the shuttle for the month of June. Sounds like lunch to me.

Can someone let me know where I can leave my man card? Im just booked my wife an apointment at the spa for a massage.......... and myself an apointment at the salon for a hair cut and a "royal shave".

I'm not quite full on ####, but I'm real close.

Anyone have any deals for Cirque Du Soleil The Beatles LOVE for the weekend of June 16-20?
Search this thread for "Patty". Guru talks about her the last page back in his big post. She is some sort of insider for Cirque and she can get great tickets for any of the shows for under face. I used her last fall.
Just sent in my payment to Patty through PayPal.Got 2 level A seats from Patty for $230 total. Would cost me $330 + taxes and fees to buy it from the LOVE website. Now, hopefully she's legit.

God help me, I love Ellis Island. Great cheap food and beer, low-limit gambling, tranny hookers...this place has it all. Depending on your wife's tolerance level, you may want to leave her in the spa.

I cant guarentee that she isnt going to screw you. That said she has hooked up a bunch of us in here including myself. Now that you mention it.... I think I might look her up and get tickets to a show while I'm out there.

Mix doesn't allow shorts or sandals, like most clubs. It is a great place to hang though. Head up there before 9:00 when there's no cover, and you can usually get a table on the patio. Bring your camera.

Chandelier Bar at Cosmo is a must. Sexy spot with three levels, and a cool drink list.
What the going rate for a beer in Chandelier bar? How about bottle service? Going for 4th of July weekend, as long as I call a day ahead to get put on list should I be good to go?
