Can somebody explain Absinthe to me? We always see the guy outside Caesarspassing out coupons. Never been.
Some singing but mostly cirque type stuff (acrobots, balancing, high wire people, tap dancers, etc.) with lots of cursing, dirty talk mixed in. Not really a show with a plot.

Definitely not intended for kids or anyone easily offended.
I was going to say. I thought it's a cirque de soleil wanna be and took my aunt, her husband and mom there one year. Needless to say I was very embarrassed. Bonus was my aunt's husband who knows only farsi and wanted to know what certain words meant.... umkay...

Where to stay is a personal preference. If it's on the strip and you want to check it all out, then central location is nice like Caesar's Palace, Bellagio, Paris. A must for me and the females in my family (not that guys don't love it too) is the Paris bouffet. Man the atmosphere and food is bar none. If you want to impress your g/f wife, check that place out in Paris.

Like the Paris buffet quite a bit. Have done breakfast there many times and find it better than most. Also love retro buffet champagne brunch at Tropicana on Sunday.

Sounds like the Bellagio is the place to stay if you're doing Vegas just once. Ammiright??
I've stayed at pretty much all the hotels and I think the Venetian is the best. The rooms at the Venetian are much better than the Bellagio. I do dig the Belagio fountains but you don't have to stay there to see them.

I agree on the Venetian for best place to stay (when not going the budget route). In fact I'll be staying there next weekend :banned:

What about the Venetian as compared with the Wynn Encore Beach Club? That place sounds pretty great as described in the other thread.

I stayed at the Wynn during March Madness last year. It was just a standard room but it didn't come close to the Venetian. I've never stayed at the Beach Club.

Venetian rooms are nice. Loved the bathroom. The toilet has it's own room in there which is stellar idea and it's large. I'd definitely stay there again. I've stayed at most of the popular hotels and this one is one of the best. But again if you or the missus love modern art, Cosmo would be better for you. Just depends on what kind of scene in the hotel you like. I actually like Mirage too even though the rooms are average on the scale but the nature type of scene is my element as well.

I love the Wynn, but dislike the location. I despise taking cabs though and walk almost everywhere I go on the strip. If you cab it everywhere the location probably won't matter as much.

We stayed at the Venetian in November and the Wynn a couple weeks ago. You cant go wrong with either hotel as far as quality. When we stayed at the Venetian we loved how close we were to the Linq promenade. So many restaurants and bars there now. Highly recommend The Yardhouse. We saw Le Reve at the Wynn. It was awesome. No seat is further than 40 feet from the stage.

It's a small setting for sure. I felt almost claustorphobic in there. The stage is round and small. It was a good cirque but if you have problems feeling in a more confined type of space feel then you may want to pass on this show.

SLS was cool especially with the monorail right outside to take you wherever instead of cab and traffic.

funny how every week seems to fly by but now that I'm heading to Vegas on Saturday the world has ground to a hault. :wall: Still haven't figured out #### other than staying at the Venetian and plan on getting sloppy after the saturday night game.

I'll be there Friday to Sunday

glll, buddy

Will be there Friday to Sunday.

Not sure where I'll be watching the Dallas/GB game yet. Most likely Mirage SB but that could change 10x in the next 5 days.

Wife is telling me the Wynn may be our best bet. I'm hearing the Bellagio can be old and underwhelming. I'm hearing some of the hip new places are for 20 year olds. I want to find the nicest hotel where a married couple in their 30s can get drunk, hang out by a nice pool and get some sun, and gamble away all our loot. As far as meals I'm happy to get a cab to the other places. TIA

Venetian would be my recommendation for you guys. Tao beach is a smaller "non pool party" pool. The standard rooms are huge.

Wynn is also a solid choice. It feels more Vegas than Venetian and is home to the best pool party (Encore Beach) and the best night club in Vegas (XS).

If you're trying to party, can't go wrong with Wynn.

I may have posted this in the now Coollage Football thread, but wife and I are 35 and 33 and spent our weekend doing exactly this. Would easily recommend Venetian

Staff retreat? You guys up for some more 1-2 at the mgm?

Also, got some tee time at Bali hai and paiute if any golfers are on staff

If not, I should at buy you guys all drinks. I'm paying for my entire trip with fantasy winnings.

The only problem with Wynn or Encore is the location isn't the greatest. It's pushing into the far side of the North strip. Other than that, both are great.

I kind of agree with Venetian. Good poker room, pretty good location, nice rooms.

Bellagio is not as bad as people are saying either. Central location and it's nice. Also like playing poker there. Crowd is a little older, maybe not as much fun, would be the downside on that one,

Bellagio is boring as hell.

Why not Cosmo or Aria with those specs.

I'm not really disagreeing with you either, wouldn' t be first choice. If I was to get a good deal at Bellagio however, I wouldn't turn it down.

Cosmo is nice and would be my 2nd choice for Otis. The tie breaker is the rooms at Venetian. They all have a sitting area with u shaped sectional compared to Cosmo which is just like other modern/chic hotel.

Mandarin Oriental is sneaky good for couples, too. The Mandarin bar is very nice with awesome views of Vegas. Don't think I ever struck out after taking a girl there.

Venetian has always been one of my favorite places on the strip, but then again you're supporting this guy when you stay there:

Funny, I don't have really anything bad to say about the Venetian, but I thought it was just all right when I stayed there. Loved the location and Tao is awesome (all of it - the pool, restaurant, and nightclub), but thought the hotel to be too big and the rooms not quite as nice. I like more modern styles though.

I'd rank the places I've stayed in terms of the actual rooms with the top five being:

1. Four Seasons

2. Wynne Encore

3. Trump

4. Cosmo

5. Hard Rock Hotel (seriously, got upgraded to one of their new suites once and it was badass)

I also like Mandalay Bay and Aria quite a bit. Back in my poker days I generally played at MGM, so I leaned more towards south strip. When I took girls there I wanted a little less crowds so I'd do Trump or Mandalay.

ETA: Red Rock is great too, but that's off strip and I'd only recommend that for locals looking to have a weekend to themselves.
