I have been pretty disappointed with my Droid X. Thing is incredibly glitchy. Screen freezes up, sometimes it just shuts down in the middle of a call and reboots. Not impressed at all. Unfortunately my upgrade date isn't until next May, so I'm stuck with it for now. But I plan on making the switch to an iPhone at that time. I wish I would have held out for a few months longer and gotten the iPhone when it came to Verizon. But I got tired of believing the rumors.'Abraham said:

X owner here and I have had zero issues that you are experiencing. My wife has an iphone (at&t) and will be switching to a Droid X2 in September.

No clue about the tethering charges.Charge is the same for me on Verizon or Amazon - $200. My mistake. You're right. It is still $250 on Verizon. Weird.

Glad for you. I absolutely hate this thing. Problem is, it's so sporadic if I took it into Verizon it would probably work perfectly for them and they'd think I was just trying to get a newer phone.

Odd. When I compared the Tbolt to the Revolution and Charge, I came away decided on the Tbolt. But going back now and comparing it to the Charge alone I don't see anything compelling. Tbolt has a longer 'standby' battery life but MUCH shorter 'usage' life. I moved up from a Motorola Droid v1 to the TBolt for $149 on the Verizon website. Awesome phone, but the battery life was pitiful the first few days. Did my research online on what to tweek and turn off, now the battery lasts all day long with moderate use of phone, web, texting, etc. Primary to saving battery life is to turn off the 4G when you are not in a 4G zone. It will constantly search for the 4G signal and burn through the battery. The Blockbuster app was a constant draw as well. I disabled that too. Don't be scared by the Tbolt battery detractors out there.I compared the Tbolt to the Charge, and the Tbolt just "felt" like it was the more quality phone. Charge felt cheaply made. Tbolt has a 32GB SD card, which was the final kicker. I store a lot of music on my phone. Also, sold my old Droid on eBay for $120, so the Tbolt only netted me a cost of $29.Just my two cents.Odd. That seems to be the $50,000 question.Blogs seem to be hesitantly saying yes... though nothing is definite. People are focusing on the "...or upgrading..." language of those releases and saying that should qualify people jumping from 3G to 4G phones. From Andy's link:

For me this is the biggest factor. Each mfg puts their own spin on the Android UI. I have used Samsung, Motorola and HTC and would rank them in this order HTC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Motorola>>>>>>>>>>Samsung. Samsung's UI is just terrible and Motorola's is tolerable while HTC is very good UI. Well my wifes iphone has been having some battery issues so I switched her over to my companies verizon account yesterday and brought her home an Incredible 2. She was pretty shocked at how much you could change the phone's appearance and functionality. We put beautiful widgets (clock and weather) and launcher pro on it to start. After playing with the phone for a couple of hours she asked why the iphone is more popular than her phone and I really don't know the answer.
I haven't seen any release dates. I had planned to wait on the galaxy s2, but read a couple of articles that said it would not be 4G. Leaning towards the Thunderbolt now.
Are you waiting for your new every 2 to come available? It might not work now, because you've already got the data on your plan, but I got them to knock about 30 days off my NE2 date by emailing and asking for it. I told them I was upgrading to a smart phone.

The delivered browser, whatever that was.Really, I think she disliked the UI a lot and that might have been an even bigger factor. I don't know the details of all of them but the UI on the Revolution was just more intuitive to her.
ah ok. As soon as I picked up my wifes phone I put dolphinhd, firefox and launcher pro on. She hasn't wanted to use her iphone except to play hanging with friends.
I put dolhpinhd on too. It seems like it's much faster than the stock browser.
My understanding is that you need to have the smartphone dataplan. The dataplan for feature phones is apparently not the same. At least that is what they are saying over at droidforums.net

That's only for new contracts, IIRC.And she already got it this weekend. She does seem to really like it. As much as she can, that is. She's a bit of a Luddite when it comes to technology.

What can't an iPhone do that an Android phone can do? Not being a wise guy, I'm genuinely curious. I have a Droid X and have never used an iPhone.
