Vick QB1 in Week #3 According to Dodds (1 Viewer)

My comments apply to standard scoring, as Dodds' rankings are based on standard scoring too. Rankings in leagues with unusual or different scoring systems would of course be different. Agreed, he has looked good in 1.5 games and the present should not be ignored. That taken into consideration I stand by my previous arguments and I would not rank him QB1 this week in standard scoring and that at least 4 QBs of the 7 I listed will beat him.

Vick on the road and grass, not nearly as fast. I think he comes down to Earth a bit this week.
Care to change your opinion?
:thumbup:He's only rushed for 28 yards so far in this game. Pretty sure he's averaging a lot more than that so far this year. Once again, it's looking like MoP nailed it.
He also only has 3 rushing attempts. When you throw for 300 yards in 3 quarters, you dont have to run too much

he only had 37 yards rushing last week...
MoP can confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that (103 + 37) / 2 > 28.

Vick is certainly earning his top ranking, and is doing everything the team could want in this game.

But really, they're playing a college-caliber team. The Jaguars are an embarrassment. I'm interested to see how Vick does in the coming weeks against professional competition.

We hear a new excuse every week.'Wait until Vick plays a defense that's gameplanning for him''It was only the Lions''Wait until Vick plays a real defense'The Jags beat the Broncos and last week against the Chargers they were an embarassment - but Vick has played better than Rivers did. Tom Brady went up against the Bills today, Rivers is playing the Seahawks and Romo played a Houston D which was the first to concede 1000 pass yards this season. Vick outperformed all of them, McNabb who is facing the Rams and Favre who went up against the Lions today. The Jags are gameplanning for him. That's why their DEs stare at him in the backfield on draw plays and let McCoy run straight past them. It's why the screen pass is working so potently and why Maclin has faced single coverage all game - if he could catch Vick would be close to 400 passing yards now.

Let us know when Vick throws for 300 yards in three quarters, guppie. Face it: MoP pointed to left-center field and then knocked one up into the cheap seats. Like Truman said, you can come up with all the excuses you want, but Vick had less than half of his average rushing yards today.

Wat?Vick did throw for 300 in 3 quarters. Well, 289 yards.

'It was only the Lions'

'Wait until Vick plays a real defense'

Not sure what part of "Vick is certainly earning his top ranking, and is doing everything the team could want in this game" you didn't understand. But that doesn't make the Jaguars anything more than a joke and a poor gauge of whether he can take this team deep into the playoffs. Like I said, I'd like to see how he does against better competition.

Not really sure what else you'd like to be said. He's played great in beating the Lions and Jaguars, and made the Packers game more respectable. I don't think he'll see either Detroit of Jacksonville in the playoffs, so I'd like to see how he does starting against good (or even decent) teams.

But as a famous man once said... go ahead and crown 'em.

:thumbup:Maybe in your Yahoo! league 289 is as good as 300, but most hawks I know subscribe to Elias Sports Bureau's Platinum Level stat service which rounds (down) to the nearest hundredth. Have a good time though, ace.

I don't understand how Vick is the only guy on the field who gets "slowed down due to grass".Doesn't everyone get slowed the same, making Vick still really ####### fast?

As a Flacco/Big Ben owner I dont know if I need Vick but I just got offered him for Benson and dont think I can pass up this stud.

cutler may outscore vick too. fwiw, i benched vick for cutler bc this thread made me sit down and actually think through some vick projections. i came to a very similar conclusion as dodds. great minds or something.

so, going forward, where do we have vick ranked? over ryan and eli sure. how bout cutler? certainly not in romo rivers territory. but mebbe?

back to general vick issues. how good would he have been in atl if he had a better no1 than crumpler? i always felt vick got a very bad rep bc his wr (ie jenkins) seemed to have stone hands. i fought it for awhile, but had to eventually allow that vick just threw a ball that wasnt very catchable, or that he was so inconsistent, when he did nail a throw to the wr, they simply werent ready it. is it safe to start to possibly feel vindicated that vick was a bit of a victim of his wr?
