I've never let NPC use their own abilities. That would make the game quite a bit harder, I would think.I will Shady.Quick ME general question. Do you let your NPCs fire off abilities? Defensive only? Or do you take full control? They seem to do ok at times. But other times, I wish I had one of their abilities to use only to find they just fired one off.
I don't know, I'm kind of torn. I would hate to babysit them. They do good with defensive abilities. And I am absolutely horrible at monitoring their health. They would likely die before I even noted their health was low. That's why I am a bit hesitant to shut them down defensively. Now, one of the two I was using, Liara or Ashley, was doing great with the power that causes the vortex. The other one, I pretty much have to control constantly. So it almost seems as if some are better at it than others. I think I will likely set them to Defensive Only, and control the offensive powers. But I'm just wondering what everyone else did.I've never let NPC use their own abilities. That would make the game quite a bit harder, I would think.I will Shady.Quick ME general question. I constantly spammed their abilitites while in battle. I also played on insane the first play through.I don't know, I'm kind of torn. I would hate to babysit them. I imagine it is necessary on that level. I'm not a big fan of the tougher combat however, I play these games for the story. So I just stick with the default. That being said, the AI just doesn't do quite as well as I would like. So I'll try the Defensive Only power setting and see how that goes. If I'm still not happy, then I may end up micro-managing it later. I'll just have to force myself in to the habit of constantly hitting the wheel trigger to remind myself what is active and what isn't.I constantly spammed their abilitites while in battle. I let them manage themselves, it really can take you out of the action if you have to go to the power screen too often.I've never let NPC use their own abilities. IIRC, I had them hot key'ed to my d-pad on the Xbox. I didn't have to go to any option screen. I would just press left or right when I saw their power had recharged.I let them manage themselves, it really can take you out of the action if you have to go to the power screen too often.I've never let NPC use their own abilities. Yes, you can hot key one power for each NPC. I was thinking of doing this because I basically like to have Liara cast Vortex then have the other guy (forgot his name at the moment) chuck a grenade. I can usually eliminate two or three enemies quickly that way. Especially the dudes that carry the shields. One thing I do find amusing about the series. Game one, land, find a mineral, get out and mine it. Game two, sit out in space and chuck probes at the planet. Game three, uhm, yea, that's all gone. Now you scan entire areas of a system at once for "stuff." Weapons, kind of the same. Game one, mods and no ammo. Game two, no mods but ammo. Game three, mods again and back to ammo. The evolution of a series.p.s. Sure wish all those minerals and money I built up in ME2 (over 200k of each mineral and over 60k element zero) would have come along in some manner. I mean, I know it mentioned they went to the construction effort for the weapon. But did it really? Did it make ANY difference in ME3 how much you brought along from ME2?IIRC, I had them hot key'ed to my d-pad on the Xbox. I didn't have to go to any option screen. I have put a ton of hours into BL2 and it never crashed once. What platform are you playing on?Anyone have problems with Borderlands 2 crashing? I tried a few of the tricks on line like clearing cache etc. but nothing seems to be working. Anyone else run into this and if so, how did you fix it. Its not crashing or freezing when it autosaves it just randomly does it. I am only lv 10 so its not like the save is bogged down.
It's a 180+ page thread this too shall pass.If this board still did sub-headings for the title, I think we'd have to change it to "Mostly Mass Effect talk".
Thanks for breaking up the ME love-in. I'm very interested in Diablo too, partly because I don't think I've ever played a game like that before (from watching videos). At the same time, I know that this one has been roundly panned by people who played it on PC. This looks like another one of those games that comes down to user reviews and price point for me.As someone without a solid gaming computer who has read all about the changes they're making to bring it to consoles, and knowing full well the PC crowd's gripes about it, I am insanely excited for Diablo 3 to hit consoles (only confirmed for PS3 and PS4 right now).It will be the action-RPG I've been waiting for since the Baldur's Gates games and the Champions of Norrath games hit the PS2 way back when. Kingdoms of Amalur, Dragon's Dogma, Dungeon Siege 3, Torchlight, etc. have all been good replacements, and some of those are great games in their own right. But none of them scrathed the same itch that the old-school isometric aRPG's like Baldur's Gate and Champions of Norrath games did.I'm pumped.
I am really looking forward to Diablo 3 as well. I posted a long game play video earlier in the thread. It looks like a lot of fun especially if they can fix some of the issues that the pc gamers did not like. If you enjoy this type of game, you should give Path of Exile a whirl, fantastic game that a bunch on the FFA are playing right now and it is free to top it off.As someone without a solid gaming computer who has read all about the changes they're making to bring it to consoles, and knowing full well the PC crowd's gripes about it, I am insanely excited for Diablo 3 to hit consoles (only confirmed for PS3 and PS4 right now).It will be the action-RPG I've been waiting for since the Baldur's Gates games and the Champions of Norrath games hit the PS2 way back when. I really like this game. I just saved Emily from the whore house. I have to admit though, I am rarely very stealthy. What are you supposed to do when there are 2 or 3 bad guys together? I feel like I am missing something important.Bought the DLC for Dishonored, and was reminded again of how incredibly awesome this game is. Thief on steroids. Best stealth game ever made, imho.

installing/reinstalling it didnt help. Its just a bad area I suppose. I avoided the "crash" area and had no problems playing last night for about an hour. Sleeping darts work well...or just avoid them entirely. I think I did this while in the Whiskey Mill.I really like this game. I just saved Emily from the whore house. Dishonored is one of those games where if you want to get through each level with stealth, you better be prepared to to "restart at the last checkpoint" a lot. Some of the levels take a lot of trial and error before you find good ways to get from point A to point B.Sleeping darts work well...or just avoid them entirely. Give Far Cry 3 a shot. I haven't played as many games as a lot of guys here but I would think that if you like RDR it's a safe bet that you'll also like Far Cry 3.Finished Red Dead Redemption. Lots o fun. Enjoyed it more than the two most recent GTA stories, but not nearly as much as GTA Vice City. So, what should I do next? Again, really not into horror games ala Resident Evil. Really not a Call of Duty guy either. Games I have enjoyed - Vice City, RDR, LaNoire..... and yeah, that's pretty much it. Throw in a golf, nascar and Madden game and that's pretty much all I've used the XBox for (for me only that is. I do have Star Wars and play kinnect style with my son and that is awesome fun)
Patience. They will usually start walking/patrolling. You pick them off one-by-one (and hide the bodies). Or use your powers to become a rat / stop time / etc to get past them.I really like this game. I just saved Emily from the whore house. I have to admit though, I am rarely very stealthy. Portal and Portal 2 are among the most entertaining, well designed, humorous and challenging games I have played. Sadly you only get about 15-25 hours of game play out of them, total, but they are inexpensive and very much worth the investment. Great games. I recommend them to everyone because they really do something creative and different with the FPS genre. I also think it is a good one to play with your kids because it requires creative solutions to the levels.Finished Red Dead Redemption. Lots o fun. Enjoyed it more than the two most recent GTA stories, but not nearly as much as GTA Vice City.

Dont worry the most recent resident evils have little to no horror in them. So if you like a poorly made action game, I'd recommend them.Finished Red Dead Redemption. Lots o fun. Sounds like tenchu. I'll have to get this.Patience. They will usually start walking/patrolling. You pick them off one-by-one (and hide the bodies). Or use your powers to become a rat / stop time / etc to get past them. Plus, you don't have to eliminate everyone (or even anyone). So i guess you narrowed the marriage choices down, then?Just as I was about to declare war my girlfriend said I was wasting too much time on the computer and made me take the dog for a walk. I didn't get to play again this weekend.
Amazingly deep and intricate game.
RunItUp, what is the bad news on the console versions? They made a couple of significant changes to the non-core game, the RMAH and always online. This doesn't solve the horrible problems that the game itself has. I'm not saying its a bad game because it isn't, what I'm saying is that all of the core systems within the game are horribly flawed in one way or another - literally all of them. If you were an action RPG fan before D3, and you loved all the old dungeon crawling ARPGs like D2 - you will be disappointed, this is nothing like them. Its a fun play, but it has no depth at all. The skill system is awful in comparison to literally every other ARPG. None of your decisions have any impact on your character. In the end, D3 turned out to be some sort of horrible MMORPG/ARPG monster with the worst of both worlds, removing the horrible MMO features leaves behind the flawed MMO mechanics that were influenced to be driven towards those MMO features. Specifically the item system. Itemization has been a huge feature in every ARPG ever, its half of what defines your character, but in D3 its 100% of what defines your character. Its no coincidence that the item system was developed to be overly simplistic and incredibly convoluted. Same with the stat system. It was all to drive players towards the RMAH.TLBump?I know all of the criticisms of the PC version. They are actually making a lot of changes that I like for the console version.I've got some bad news :(As someone without a solid gaming computer who has read all about the changes they're making to bring it to consoles, and knowing full well the PC crowd's gripes about it, I am insanely excited for Diablo 3 to hit consoles (only confirmed for PS3 and PS4 right now).It will be the action-RPG I've been waiting for since the Baldur's Gates games and the Champions of Norrath games hit the PS2 way back when. I bought the first one a few weeks ago, and really liked it. It's a little different than your typical shooter - every bullet counts. You are always scrounging for ammo and such, which makes perfect sense in the setting. it's also much more tilted towards survivor-horror than it is Call of Duty - very immersive, tense, etc.My son finally was able to pick up his pre-order of Metro Last Light that I got him for freaking CHRISTMAS. Am actually interested to hear what people think of it. I have only read about the first one but the setting sounded pretty cool.
