Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (3 Viewers)

BTW - #### you Mass Effect 2 for making it impossible (for me anyway) to have everyone survive the suicide mission. :hot:
That aspect of the game was one of the best moments in gaming history for me. I loved having those very real consequences to my actions. I'm looking forward to when developers start adding those type of consequences to the middle of games so that you will really have to suffer through the loss of your team for the rest of the game. While it was dramatic for Mass Effect 2 there wasn't any real impact on your ability to beat the game.
There is always a way to make everyone survive if you completed all the loyalty missions. You just did it wrong.
The problem is Miranda/Jack. I completed Jack's/Miranda's mission and it was after that that she lost the loyalty thing because of the fight. After they have their catfight, I've never been able to get the loser back on my side. I don't know how you get the loser of the fight to survive the suicide mission.

There is a dialog path through that confrontation that will allow you not to lose the trust of either of the ladies.

Picked up Uncharted and NHL '10 at Gamestop's B2G1 sale this weekend. I think I'll set Uncharted to "easy" level so I can get through it in a week and use their return policy to get a different game. Is that stealing?
I think they'll only allow you to return a game for another copy of the same game.
Nope. They have a "Don't like it? Exchange it." policy for used games.
Oh, ok. Then yeah, stealing/abuse. :lmao:

Your paragon or renegade has to be at 85-90% and then an option of dialog opens up to make it better. But in the final mission there are also ways to not use certain people that makes it so they are not in harms way to get around the disloyalty.

Gonna have to try it one more time I guess. I could swear my paragon level was way over 90% but I could never get the dialog option to get Jack back on my side.
I'm guessing if I have her escort the survivors back to the ship that she'll survive?

Fallout: New Vegas and Arcania Gothic 4 both look good, but since they're both single player only games I'll probably wait for a pricedrop in both.

Little heads up for the goozex people on here. It seems on massive release nights they do not launch the games at midnight central time anymore. Now they let their web site calm down from the huge slow down and then launch. Last night it was at 12:31, the previous big game launch I tried to get involved with was at 12:24. Currently in line for Fallout: New Vegas, which I'm 25th out of 352 people, and Arcania Gothic 4, which I'm 2nd out of 47 people. I'll get both within the month. :coffee:

So are you refreshing your browser every 5 seconds? From midnight on?I am done with Goozex. I decided I want new releases the day they release. And I'm unloading all my points from Goozex and selling my used games on Ebay.

Nope, I never refresh my browser. I just click the "want it" button every couple minutes when I'm watching TV, but I made sure to do it a few times in a row at 20 and 30 after the hour, which ended up working. I apply for some new games on release day, but I have used goozex to get a lot of games I never bought and for a ton of dvd series.

i just got "Fallout3: GOTY". i gave F3 a try last year and didn't much care for it. so i'm giving this a go again and we'll see if it appeals.

So I got Uncharted for the PS3. Good looking game and the story has sucked me in already. Not sure I like the gameplay so far. Glad I set the difficulty to "easy" so I can get through it fast and move on to Uncharted 2.

I'm not a fan of that style of game. The story was interesting but I gave up round about the submarine because I just didn't like how it played.

That's the spot I've gotten to. If I didn't have hints turned on, I'd have quit already.

uncharted 1>uncharted 2.
That's the first I've heard that.
I liked Uncharted 2, but I actually agree that the first was a little better. The story was fresher and breezier, and it felt better-paced. The second is better eye candy and the train and monastary sequences in particular are awesome, but there are too many boring tutorial-type levels that you have to slog through before you get there. Love the gameplay in both, though.

Sounds like the same criticisms comparing Bioshock 1 & 2.

Finished Bioshock 2 tonight, finally. Put in about 10 hours over the last few days, but finished the single player. Damn good game....not quite as good as the first, but still pretty awesome.

I had been on a furlough of about 2 weeks of not games. Played ME2 again last night and it is still

Follow-up question on this - is it possible to just load up chapters go achievement hunting? And my player won't lose his plasmids/weapons? I'd like to go back and do some achievements - find all the audio diaries, find all the power to the people stations, etc.

I don't think you can go back to old areas in Bioshock 2 like you could in the first one. It was by design and they made it so any little sisters you missed in a previous chapter would appear in a later one so that you didn't need to go back. I also think the diary achievement didn't require all of them, but just most of them this time. To answer you question, you'll have to start over to go back.

Well that's too bad. I hate following walkthroughs on my first playthrough of the game, but I don't want to replay the whole thing to get the achievements.Turns out I got the audio diary achievement anyway...only needed 100/128 for the achievement. Didn't hit all of the Power to the People stations though - I think I missed 2 of them.

I might be remembering wrong but their was an event in the story and depending on what you did changed if you had an opportunity to get one of the PttP machines.

The first Bioshock was the same way.

I want to go back and finish Bioshock 2 myself. I think I'm about a little over half the way through it.

I just can't remember if I saved, or harvested the little sisters when I first played it. This effects the ending right? Is there any way to tell?

It effects which ending you get. I believe their are four endings in total and if you do start back up, just go for whatever direction you think you did. Then youtube the rest.

6 endings, I think. I saved all the little sisters and then Youtubed the rest of them - I got the "good" ending.

Anyone play Bioshock 2's DLC - Minerva's Den?

Sounds like 3 fairly lengthy single-player chapters...I think I'll probably go for it, unless some others here played it and it sucked.

Dogfighter is supposed to be going on sale on Steam in an hour for $1.50! :) Basically a beautiful Crimson Skies for PC. For $1.50, I am IN!

Fable 3 tomorrow, anyone getting it?
I'll be getting it after the holidays probably. Although, I am tempted to pick up the everything edition of Dragon Age. Problem is I see much of my time being sucked away come early next month with a different game. :fishing:

I'm a recent PS3 purchaser looking for game selection advice. So far I have only Red Dead Redemption, which I love, and I'm looking for recommendations on 1 FPS war game and 1 driving game. I don't have a ton of playing time - maybe 2 hrs 2/week after kids and wife go to bed.

For war games, I've enjoyed Battlefield and Call of Duty on PC in the past - If you were to recommend 1 versions of one of those which would it be?

For driving games, I've enjoyed older Need for Speeds on PCs in the past, love MarioKart Wii, and like Cruisin USA/World, etc. Heck I even like those 18 wheeler games. ANy suggestions?

For sports I'll probably eventually get around to whatever the latest versions of Tige Woods, MLB:The Show, and/or FIFA

Thanks for any help
