Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (7 Viewers)

Played Madden a couple days of go. It's so bad. It's basically just clunky animation after animation. Still on ice. It looks incredible though. IMO the gameplay is just awful and dated. YMMV.
animation is great. There’s a few throwing motions that don’t look perfect but I mean come on. How is that a deal breaker at all. Plays great, looks great, the franchise stuff is fun. Some people just don’t want to like it and never will.

I think it's the plays great part. A lot feel it does not play great and hasn't for a very long time.

I am still cranking away on MLB The Show.  What a great game.  They put EA sports games to shame.

A few weeks ago Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th homerun, so SDS released a rather easy and free program to get a 99 Cabrera.  This same type of thing would have been a EA card that cost 1.5-2mil in virtual currency.

Me too. I chase all the old-timers. It's never-ending content.

Just getting ready to start this finally (bought it at Christmas). As I get older, I prefer a good story over lots of action, so glad to see your comments. How many hours went in to it?
I’m not sure how many hours, but it wasn’t short. I got the version with the 2 DLC, and I usually play a sneaky sniper on my first run, so that stretches it out a bit. But the play time was good and there is a lot to do. If you like Fallout, the influence is definitely there also. I’m a sucker for a good space RPG, and this checked all the boxes.

So I found someone who's willing to meet to give me a PS5 who wants to meet at the local police station 11 mins from my house. Only issue is she wants $725 and only Cash. It's a Digital version and she wanted a Disc one instead. Seems legit but hesitant paying that price plus carrying that much cash. If I can see if my friend will go with me either Sunday or Mon Maybe I go for it. After October you won't be able to buy a dam console possible till next spring

Also looking at her profile on marketplace she's a legit seller who's sold numerious things and a good star rating.

My daughter (sophomore in college) mentioned that she'd like a PS4 for her birthday.  When the hell did these become impossible to find?  It's bad enough that we're heading into year two of the PS5 being vaporware, but now you can't even find a last-gen console for MSRP anywhere.

This is a pretty good sign of a legit transaction in my experience. It's what I do when selling something.

I wouldn't pay that much money for a PS5 when I have a PS4 backlog still but to each their own.

It's the chips.   They are hard to find and have been for the last couple years.   Sam reason the ps5s have been hard to find.  No production

I'm not backlogged though. I beat Vahalla already, still on Watch Dogs to an extent and really don't have anything saved I need to play.

Yeah the money is a bit much plus she only wants cash so thats a bit tough. Might see if I can justify a Venmo transaction with her. If I can do that I can pick it up tomorrow or Monday. However I am making some good money at work with holiday and time and a half and OT right now.

I'd wait. There is 0 reason to get a PS5 now other than novelty.

I admit, I shake my head a lot when I read how much some of our fellow FBGers are spending to get one of these. But admittedly, I am not a "gotta be first" kind of guy. never have been. To each their own I reckon.

I wasn't a had to have it first. I'm just really frustrated with how the roll outs are going. I understand trying to kill the scalpers who are selling them for outrageous fees but its getting to the point were its near impossible for the avg person to get one unless you sit at your laptop all day.

I was able to get an XBox Series X online through Walmart in one of their restocks. Got lucky. That was in August and it won't be here till sometime in October.

DAM REALLY? I thought I heard something their online ordering thing had some bugs and it wouldn't take that long. I had a PS5 Digitial in my cart from Walmart but the stupid hold down button thing wasn't working till they were out of stock

The key is to use the app instead of online browser. Then you don't have to hit refresh when out of stock. You can just keep hitting the add to cart button. And I never had to do that hold-down button but heard a lot of other people complaining about it too.

Is that just for Walmart app or everyone of them

Not sure about the others. But that's how Walmart worked. I'll PM you a guy to follow on Twitter in case you're not - he gives all the restock info in real time and you can set it up for notifications. That's how I got mine.

I follow him and another guy too. Women apparently sold it over the weekend. Another restock GS tomorrow and PS direct has one by invited at 3PM and then opening to public if they have any left

Been this way since COVID, talked about it in the thread nearly a year ago. They pretty much stopped manufacturing the PS4 due to component shortages and shifting all supply to making the PS5.

If you get desperate I have one that I barely use.  I see a lot of refurbed ones around, though.

Deathloop

Looks like a mix of Bioshock, Cyberpunk and Dishonored, which isnt a bad thing.

Looks pretty good but personally I am 100% done with first person. For me they are all just Wolfenstein with updated pixels. The field of view ruins all the immersion and I just cant escape the monotonous feeling that Ive done all this before. Platforming is a disaster.

I need some Ready Player One type ish to get my gaming juices flowing again.

Reviews from IGN 10/10. Reviews from most youtubers says its a wait for lower price. Weird.
Not all that crazy, all the review sites went corporate years ago and are just shills for the most part. Even once respected sites like IGN way overrate games. I mean they gave Cyberpunk a 9 and it’s a broken game.

Read a review that said the main feature is the player invasions. So... no.
Eww I just played the first Watch Dogs earlier in the summer and reading that brought me back memories of that crap. It's such an awful game feature. Like I just wanna play by myself, and out of nowhere against my choice there a randomly spawned player trying to kill me to complete their mission.

On the other hand, this feature worked just fine in Dark Souls.  It really depends on how it's implemented and how well it fits the design of the game.

Death Loop is one of a very small number of next-gen titles that has been at the top of my radar screen since it was first announced.  I really like the idea of the game and the aesthetic design.  I also loved the Dishonored games.  Prey, not so much, but even then I get what Prey was trying to do and I understand why it has such a devoted following.  I'd prefer to play this sort of title on console, but more likely I'll just wait a bit for the PC version to get patched up.

I find it funny (in a sad way) that I came here to talk about the improvements in NBA2k22 over 21 for the Xbox Series X version, only to see posts of people still trying to get their hands on the newest consoles a year later. :(

I played Dark Souls offline for exactly that reason. Just not my thing.

The Dishonored 2 references is what caught my attention with Deathloop. Loved that game after buying it on a whim. But I doubt I'll ever bother with a PS5, so I guess I'll never know.
