Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (2 Viewers)

Playing Uncharted 2 and have Uncharted 3 waiting in the wings. Good times so far.
I've said it a few times in this thread but I will say it again: "Enjoy the Insane Monkeymen throwing glowing grenades."
Is that in 2 or 3?Does anyone know if the Uncharted coming to PS Vita is considered Uncharted 4?
Oh it's in 2. I remember someone saying that the game was just kicking their butt on easy and they still had yet to experience the Monkeymen.

You guys were right about Dead Island (forget who told me to return it - Moobin maybe?). I put in a good 3 or 4 hours, but there's absolutely nothing original or interesting about this game. Sort of like every Grand Theft Auto game since the first one on PS2.

I just finished Mass Effect 2 for PS3, and I have come to the realization that I'm a big fan of space RPG-type games. can anyone recommend something awesome along the same lines?
Knights of the Old Republic by Bioware. Older game but still amazing.

Got Uncharted 3 for Xmas, then realized I never got around to playing 2. So I polished it off last week (I remember playing #1 the first time in a single, uninterrupted 24-hour session), it was fun. Played it on "normal", it didn't seem too bad.Started 3 on Sunday and liking it so far.

Played and finished Homefront this weekend. Wow, was that a short single player campaign! Glad that I only paid a couple of bucks.
I got it on the Steam sale, and I was shocked how short the campaign was. I also thought the controls were a little sluggish, compared to the BF games, and there was definitely no bullet physics that I noticed (i.e. bullet drop for sniper rifle.) Considering that I looked at it at $30, I'm glad I waited. I haven't ventured into the multi-player, and not sure if I will.

Hard and Crushing mode significantly upped the difficulty level from normal. Normal was a walk in the park comparatively.

Oh yes both part one and two for XBOX. Amazing RPG's. And easily the very best Star Wars games ever made other than X-Wing and Tie Fighter for the PC.

I thought the Force Unleashed games were both badass.

Xenoblade Chronicles is getting released for the Wii in April.

if you like Japanese role playing games or enjoyed the old final fantasy style games, pick this up, it will be the last good release for this system and even if you are a PS3 or X-Box player who has a wii sitting around, get this game. It has PS2 quality graphics but the gameplay and story line are excellent.

Just a really good game that i can't talk good enough about!

Yeah, I'm in it to be entertained, not become a videogame professional or expert or anything.

I was in disbelief when the credits started rolling. The game was exactly what I wanted - just a simple straightforward shoot em up - but man, it felt like that it ended at the end of Act 1.

Just finished the story for LA Noire. I know most people on these boards didn't like it, but I enjoyed it a lot. It's completely unlike any Rockstar game before it, so if you're expecting an open world shoot 'em up I can definitely see how you wouldn't like the game. I'll say it is repetitive, and quite linear, but the things that LA Noire does well made up for those possible shortcomings imo.If you enjoy a great story, excellent graphics, and enjoy those CSI shows I'd expect you to enjoy LA Noire.

Dang, maybe I should have jumped in on the Steam sale. It was what, $5, maybe $7.50?

Might have been as much as $9.99. Don't remember among my video game buying frenzy.

I'm giving Skyrim a break for now. I just fired up a new guy on Fallout 3. I'm also playing Halo Anniversary on the 360.

Steam plagued me this holiday, and I'm quite happy with my indie purchases.

Space Pirates and Zombies - simple but deep game. Lots of fun.

Beat Hazzard - didn't realize how much i would like this, but i've logged 7 hours so far.

I also discovered a new Space 4x game: Distant Worlds. this is by far the best 4x out there today.

for xbox, my son and i played some EDF: Insect Armageddon. If you can get it on the cheap, the multiplayer is fun.

I enjoyed it too. I know point-and-click adventures aren't for everyone, but a new take on the genre was refreshing.

Don't worry, I think everybody was as disappointed as you were. I was really expecting a much better, polished, suspenseful story driven game. What we got was a grainy button masher with no story and over the top voice acting. Those aren't even the worst parts. For me, the thing that completely ruined it, was the way you collected items/scavenged for money. I should have to grind opening and closing suitcases for money. Playing this and quitting was the equivalent to walking out of a movie.

Finished Uncharted 3 last night. Pretty good. Not as crazy-supernatural a spin at the end as the first two. But the blonde chick wasn't as hot this time for some reason.

Oh, there was one part where there were some crazy-supernatural type enemies, but not quite like the others. But they were a little jarring, given the Middle Eastern/Syrian/Yemen/Arabian locale... the enemies were kind of suicide bombers.

Maybe because a few months back I played Nintendo's Legend of Zelda "Skyward Sword", which near the end has you fighting an army of suicide bombers that were kind of unsettling to me that I continued to be a little taken aback by it this time. Just struck me as odd.

I do have to say I did enjoy that the second half of the game broke away a little bit from the typical Uncharted formula of "Let's find a clue. I'll take an impossible to follow leaping path across a rock wall to get there. Then suddenly there's a hundred bad guys standing behind me."

PS4 and Xbox 720 to be revealed at E3 in June:http://games.ign.com/articles/121/1215948p1.html
IMO, it's about that time for the next generation to come along. I haven't seen any games this year that were substantial improvements on stuff from last year, so this generation of consoles seems to be maxed out.

Crushing is a good challenge. I thought normal was too easy as well.eta--Everybody Dance was pretty fun. The whole family enjoyed that. Made me realize what a big ol meathead I am with no rhythm even though I think otherwise. :lmao:

Anyone want to buy a played through once copy of Deus Ex for the PS3?

Fun game. But I have the Uncharted games and Mass Effect 3 coming up to play.

I liked 2 better but I agree with your part about the end. My biggest issue with Uncharted 3 was some of the levels were completely drugged (dragged?) out and could have used some editing

Hit level 48 on Star Wars TOR. Decided to take a break and picked up CIV4 just to kill an afternoon; been playing it all week.
I would like it if they do Civ6 (soon) taking all the complexities and cool features of 4 with some of the new concepts and simplicity of 5. I enjoy 5 but it's just a tad too dumbed down. Give me back things like religion, corporation, colonies, etc. That stuff was cool

Saints row: the third - absolutely loving this game about 5 hours in, the beginning was one of the better starts to a game that I can remember.

I have this game but have not yet played it....trying to make the time for it.
I did some searching and apparently the entire game is co-op. Free roam, diversions, missions and shopping are all available to both players. I'm thinking about picking it up just because I love co-op games. :banned:

All 10,000 points still sitting there. I suppose I just wait for them to be taken, or do you suppose they might just stay there? :bag:
UPDATE: All points are still there.
Are you are regular purchaser of MS Points anyway? ie. do you buy and spend points on DLC often? If yes, then just go ahead and spent those points. If they ever come looking for them then you'll simply be paying a "bill" you would have paid anyway.
Rarely at all. Now, I believe I can use MS points to purchase PC games, as well, which is much more interesting to me. . .
All points are still mine. So how do I spend these bad boys?

Any difference between Xbox Slim and Xbox Arcade? I miss having netflix. ( hate streaming through teh pc.)

I recently "finished" Skyrim -- did all the major quest lines after about 2 months of continuous play -- and will now take a break until the inevitable DLC. So I went back and did my Pro run in the PSN version of Resident Evil 4. Going back to it after all this time, I'm surprised at just how hard this game is. I'll finish it up tonight with no problems, but I played this about a million times on the PS2, and I'm constantly seeing lots of situations that would be seriously challenging for people who had never played this before. Great game, even after several years.

Had a bunch of friends over yesterday. After the NFL games were over we fired up my Wii and played what was probably the most entertaining 12 inning game of RBI baseball in my life, followed by a gaggle of old games like Tecmo Super Bowl, Ring King, Pro Wrestling, Ice Hockey, Baseball Stars and a run through Contra - co-op style including the old Konami code getting used.

that's how us 34-42 year olds roooollll !!!!
