Two great games. Did you play Demon Souls? If so you know what is waiting for you in Dark Souls. Kingdoms is an underrated game because too much attention was placed on the company's mess instead of the solid game thy produced.

Can't really speak for this generation of PS3 or XBox as I have not played many. Perfect 10's in my mind from the past would have been Zelda: Ocarina of Time and recently Mario Galaxy and Mario Galaxy 2. My past gaming has consisted of mostly Final Fantasy type games. See my comment/question below.
Just wondering about something you stated here. How long do games take now to complete? I know I "overplayed" it but Final Fantasy II and III took me more than 20 hours to beat. Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, I'm pretty sure, took me more than 20 hours to beat. Zelda definitely took me more than 20. I'm paying $60+ to play a game, that is supposedly great, and I am looking forward to The Last of Us but for 20 hours, that seems like a downer. Is this typical with PS3 games and XBox games?

To be honest I couldn't say. So many games have been made this generation that interest me that I really have no reason to pay $60 for any video game, as I can play a multitude of games released years ago that I can buy for $20 and just wait for a game like The Last of Us to drop in price to $30 or so.
But to attempt to answer your question, from what I've read The Last of Us clocks in at around 17 hours to finish, though it does have multiplayer which hypothetically adds to that, but personally multiplayer is of little interest to me. If you're interested in getting value for your money's worth, they're are plenty of RPGs made these days that offer 50+ hours of original gameplay, and from what I understand some games like Skyrim offer 100+ hours of original gameplay. But I think 15-20 hours of excellent original gameplay is better than 50-60 hours of decent/mediocre gameplay, which is why I can definitely understand why people are more than willing to pay $60 for The Last of Us, as Naughty Dog's reputation for making games is pretty elite, especially for this generation.

It really depends on the game and how much you want to do. There is a big big difference in play time between beating a game on an easy setting vs getting 100% trophies/achievements. I rarely if ever talked to him. He died in a shuttle crash during the final mission, but I was ok with that. As I played all three games back to back to back, by the end, I just wasn't up to trying to complete every conversation tree. I was in "It's a war dude. Everyone lost someone. Buckle up and get busy with, you know, avoiding extinction" mode. I just wasn't up to the whole "Wah, my husband died. Wah I'm sad" thing.
The guy at GameStop said he has over 300 hours in Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen and he isn't through it yet. So it really depends on the game. There are some really, really incredible values out there.

It terms of reading the wiki, you basically just want to read up on some basic tactics (use your shield!), and maybe try and see what order to approach the game in terms of which location to attack (note that the game does not tell you where to do for the most part, you have to explore but don't think of it as an open world setting like skyrim, it is much tighter).
Also, the quick indication you are going he wrong way early is getting your ### handed to you over and over again
If you are not a big fan of mapping, print out a demon souls high level map for yourself so that you can see how everything connects.
Also read up a bit on "World Tendency". It is an interesting game mechanic.

I wouldn't recommend just jumping into 3. Too much carry over in the story from the first two.

Demon's Souls, for when you have to make absolutely sure that you never unclench your butt for the duration of a game.I think Dark Souls improved so much on Demon's Souls even though some mechanics were simplified and others were replaced - I think the simplicity makes the story and combat mechanics more rewarding.

You can certainly start with 3 as it gives you a 15 minute walkthrough where you can make the pivotal decisions that carried over from ME1 & ME2. Personally I think you miss a lot with of great story and game from the first two.

I prefer pretty much all the mechanics in Dark Souls -- the weight requirements for rolling are better, the additional elements (lighting for example) are better, it's cool that everybody can access pyromancy early on even if it's OP, and estus flasks are more balanced that grass. And I've mentioned this before, but I absolutely adore the world design in Dark Souls. It is cool as hell that you can start from Firelink Shrine and go all the way through Blightown to Lost Izalith and back to the Catacombs / Tomb of the Giants and Darkroot Garden and New Londo Ruins and The Great Hollow and Ash Lake without a single cutscene or loading screen anywhere. This game has the very best sense of "place" of any game I've ever played.
Dark Souls also has better boss fights. Almost every boss in Demon's Souls is either easy or can be cheesed or glitched. The fight with Dragonslayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough is better than anything in Demon's Souls and is my favorite boss fight of all time.
I just wish they had kept the same weapon scaling and stat requirements from Demon's Souls. That game had a much better variety of viable character builds.

Then again, IMO the best level of the franchise is world four in Demon's Souls. You get through 1-1 and figure that you're now an unstoppable demigod because you can totally slaughter dreglings and blue-eyed knights, and you know from the wiki that there's a crescent scimitar in 4-1, so you go there immediately. And then that very first skeleton completely wrecks your ####. Again. And again. And then you get past that guy and get ruined when you stupidly trigger a couple of them at once. And then you manage to get past that first batch of enemies, and you ask yourself "Hmm, I wonder what would happen if I mess with that black skeleton with the dual katanas?" And the answer is that you get a quick trip back the nexus.
I love that level, and I could just stand there and watch the clouds blow overhead all day. That should have been a dynamic theme.

I started it today and understandably, I wasn't sucked in or engrossed by the story yet. The graphics were pretty cool and the fighting was a little loose but seems like there could certainly be some strategic elements to it.

Just finished up my second ME2 playthrough and started right into ME3. Combat controls seem a little looser the ME2, having a hard time aiming in that first mission, but getting the hang of it. About 2 hours in and enjoying so far.
Any downloadable content (besides the doesn't completely suck ending) that i just have to have?
Been playing ME since it was first released on XBOX360 only, actually had to buy the game and borrow my friend's xbox, so i'm pretty excited to finish it up.

I just wish the DLC was out there sooner. Having ended the whole ME3 experience with somewhat of a bad taste, I just could not bring myself to going back and doing that, and I loved ME.

I'm looking for a good example of a game(s) that takes place in and around a realistic sports stadium. Not all that concerned with the game play only the area itself. I want to see faithful renderings of parking areas, entrances, stairwells, concources and the field too.
Does anyone know where I can find some examples like this? The examples probably need to be online walkthroughs at least initally so I have a sense of what I'm looking at.

Actually, the exact opposite. I want to be able to put soldiers and first responders in a game based stadium "world" and practice every concieavble scenario and contingency.
