Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (5 Viewers)

Picked up Arkham City for $20 and it appears to have all the upgrades in it. It's ok so far I guess. Punching Penguin was pretty fun.

You don't say...

I'm guessing you only get to do it about once every 45 minutes or so (depending on your age)?

Any downloadable content (besides the doesn't completely suck ending) that i just have to have?
The Citadel DLC is generally regarded as one of the best DLC packs out there.
The Citadel is excellent and absolutely worth the DL.

You should also download the extended ending which is valuable for lowering the total war assets required (very important for completing the game) and unlocking all the possible ending trees.

Omega and Leviathan are fun and contribute war assets but not necessary.

From Ashes is quick and provides you with a unique new squadmate, plus war assets (are you noticing a theme with the war assets?). I found the backstory on the new character to be very interesting in the context of the ME universe but he was ultimately kind of boring.

I loved that one scene in Citadel at the party.
So Javik, enjoying the music? Let me guess not as good as in your cycle, amirite?

The potential for gamers to make their own awesome action RPG's with Project Spark is really exciting. I take back my comment about nothing blowing my mind--Project Spark, and it's potential if its really as limitless as it seems, is incredibly mind blowing for a creative gamer.

I'll be honest, from that demo I don't really understand it and what sort of scope it allows.

[Just wondering about something you stated here. How long do games take now to complete? I know I "overplayed" it but Final Fantasy II and III took me more than 20 hours to beat. Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, I'm pretty sure, took me more than 20 hours to beat. Zelda definitely took me more than 20. I'm paying $60+ to play a game, that is supposedly great, and I am looking forward to The Last of Us but for 20 hours, that seems like a downer. Is this typical with PS3 games and XBox games?
It really depends on the game and how much you want to do. There is a big big difference in play time between beating a game on an easy setting vs getting 100% trophies/achievements.I got the following:230 hours out of Fallout 3150 hours out of Demon Souls120 hours out of Dark Souls110 hours out of Kingdoms of Amalur145 hours out Borderlands 160 hours out of BL235 hours out of Bioshock 170 hours out of Bioshock 2(multi player)30 hours out of Uncharted 150 hours out of Lego Lord of the Rings120 hours out of Skyrim
Good lord. Judging by the amount of hours you spend indoors.....I'm guessing you might look like this.
That is over a period of 6 years or so although it ramped up when I retired. Luckily being retired I have plenty of time to get outside.

Seems like an expansive world builder with the ability to give anything AI behaviors, from basic (which they showed) to complex. I could people losing hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of hours building whatever they want, testing it out, and exploring other peoples' creations.

Nice, ok, sounds like i'll try grabbing the Citadel DLC before i get too far in. And I already got the extended ending since it was free.

Omega is also really fun. From ashes seems like the worst money grab mainly because the character should be in the game already. Javik adds a lot to the ME lore.

Wasn't this what Neverwinter Nights tried to do, with limited success? Disclaimer: I don't know anything about Spark. NN was a bear to deal with.

This is on a much larger scale and much wider scope...action RPG type thing is just where my mind went because that's what I like and what the gameplay footage kind of showed. But I'm pretty sure you can create anything to a point....what point that is will determine how cool this game is.

Question for the knowledgable in here. I am not a gamer in any sense of the word. But, I need something for work and hoping you guys can give me some ideas where to look.

I'm looking for a good example of a game(s) that takes place in and around a realistic sports stadium. Not all that concerned with the game play only the area itself. I want to see faithful renderings of parking areas, entrances, stairwells, concources and the field too.

Does anyone know where I can find some examples like this? The examples probably need to be online walkthroughs at least initally so I have a sense of what I'm looking at.

Thanks tons for any help at all.

I have a hunch Homeland Security will be looking at this post.

I am watching the PS4 feed online, has it started or is it sitting idle on a PS blue screen?

PS4 giving Xbox the finger. I hope xbox takes a look at this reaction. So far neither system has gotten my single purchase, which I am disappointed with.
