The one where you sneak in and attach something to somewhere and then sneak out you know the one.I probably need to pick that game up again at some point but it just got so damn repetitive
oh absolutely. I think people who called it game of the year played like two missions and wrote their review.
I went out and bought the game because I heard how freaking "perfect" it was.
I rarely fall for the hype but to be fair that was all FFA induced type. I should go back and find out who was pimping that game so hard so I can adjust accordingly.
I was one of the guys who was pimping it.
To some degree, I have no regrets about that. I really do think the gameplay is sensational, and I think this game does open-world in a pretty good way. When I was pimping it, though, I didn't realize how absurdly padded the game is, and how repetitive some of the missions can be. I think I put about 30 hours into it, only to realize later that I wasn't even at the halfway point. I never even unlocked the forward-base thing, which having learned more about it, I'm sure I would have hated.
MGS4 was a very streamlined, short game that you can beat in under 5 hours if you skip the cutscenes (there's even a trophy for that). They went from that extreme, all the way to the other extreme of a huge, sprawling, bloated grind that should have been cut at least in half and probably more than that. I enjoyed the time that I spent with MGS5, but dear God did it need some editing.
