Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (8 Viewers)

Building the settlement s was tedious and boring.  Prob the worst thing I have ever seen in any fallout game for sure.fallout 3 and Vegas blow 4 out of the water
I'm actually getting an urge to go back and start a new game of FONV rather than finish the FO4 game that I'm 20 hours into.

Funny....ive been playing New Vegas lately. For reasons I can't remember I never did the DLC when I went through it the first time.

Just finished them all.  Have to say that the Dead Money one in the casino was without question the worst video, game experience I've ever had. Hated every minute of it.

Rest of the game rocks.

Which one has the poison fields? That literally ruined my game. I got stuck in between poison fields and could never make it out and I didn’t want to start a new game.

Yeah, that one - where you have to get into the vault of the casino that never opened before the war.  The entire DLC sucked.  There was nothing entertaining about it all.  If New Vegas was my first foray into the games and their world and I did that mission relatively early on, I would have thrown the game out and never spent a dime on any other ones in the universe.  It was just awful.

My god an open world, story-based, futuristic tech-noir action RPG from the Witcher 3 developers? Inject it straight into my veins and be done with it.

I have total confidence this will be excellent. I'm excited to see what they can do building a world and its lore from the ground up, also. One of Witcher 3's biggest weaknesses to me was always its heavy story reliance on characters and history from previous games and books I cared nothing about. I know that's my fault for not playing the earlier games but Witcher 3 was so popular it had to bring onboard lots of noobs to the franchise like me who were just thrown into a really lived-in, lore-heavy world based around a really complex, multi-layered character where many of those layers are previously established backstory important to the game.

You can definitely argue that that weight of the world, lore, and characters is part of what makes Witcher 3 so good, but I'd gamble that the developers can create a similarly dense and realistic experience from the ground up for the player to explore with a fresh protagonist, too. And that might be more my speed.

Bethesda press conference starting momentarily...pumped. Surprise trailer for Fallout 76 released during the Microsoft presser, looked good

Bethesda was having the worst, most cringe-worthy presser ever until they finally got to Todd Howard and FO76 after almost an hour. A terrible musical performance, then Rage 2, Doom 2, Prey and Wolfenstein DLC, and a weird free Quake revival no one asked for, and it was a ####show of awkwardness and forced pauses for quiet, reluctant applause. And the social awkwardness of the developers, my god.

Then Howard came out to talk about FO76, after a really funny Skyrim meme lampoon. People are gonna be torn on its always-online multiplayer nature, but I won't get into that as I'm just posting about the press conference for anyone who cares but didn't see it.

After FO76, they showed a new free mobile Elder Scrolls. Nothing wrong with it but seemingly a lame ending to a hyped show...

Then after thanking the team and making it seem like it was over, he revealed a new next-gen IP everyone thought wouldn't be confirmed...Starfield! No other details, but clearly a futuristic single player RPG.

And as if that wasn't enough, they made everyone go nuts by finally teasing Elder Scrolls 6. Seems like its still 3-4 years away though, but it will do a good job shutting up the fans especially since they made it clear the development order of all these projects.

It went from the worst showcase ever to really damn good and satisfying in a quick turn of events. Whew.

Now let the arguing over whether FO76 will be good or ruin the series commence, of course.

Apparently gamers are not big Andrew W. K. fans. You were right about the rest of the announcement though. So awkward until Howard came on stage.

I don’t understand everyone freaking out about a new ES. The series is a cash cow, of course they making another, and that 5 second clip couldn’t have been any more generic.

Yeah, so I'm going to buy it, mostly so it gives me a great excuse to take the day off.

The only redeeming part here is the comment that there will only be "dozens" of people in a game world 4x the size of FO4 at any one time.  That's a pretty sparse population and enough to ignore interlopers.

We all just want to know where it's located.  The shot they gave was horribly non-specific.  Bastards.

(And the last one was pretty darn good, combined with the thought that they don't have much competition.  Who's put out a significant competing project except the Red guys?)

Definitely. He even described Starfield, which is coming first and is also a huge project, as being "next-gen".
So next gen as is XBOX-1X or the one after that?

I thought the ESO guy was going to faint there for a bit.

Of all the games to pull music from and have a live band they chose that?

I love these shows so I can see new games for the first time but other than that they are terrible.  Most of the people on stage have no business being there.  They have terrible public speaking skills.  If they want to present a game to the public then they should be hiring a public speaker.  No one want's to see uncomfortable people on stage providing nonstop awkward moments.

I tuned in at 8:30 to see the FP76 announcement and ended up putting up with about an hour of crap I didn't want to see.  I'm pretty excited for the game though.  I wasn't expecting another full FO game this soon.

We've got a group of 8 friends that play together a ton.  It's rare for us to get more than 6 on at a time but it will be great to have a game we can all play at the same time.  Really stoked for this one.

Yeah, Dead Money kind of sucked.  Way too linear for a Fallout DLC and it was just a PITA

Never played the BF1 campaign. The multiplayer is easily worth the $15.
No. It’s a bunch of little mini stories that aren’t that great. It’s basically an over done set of tutorials. One is tank guy. Then airplane guy. And so on. I never played through all of them because it got so boring. Some people may enjoy them but it’s more of a $5 thing at best.

I guess it is a good thing I was away this weekend and the power armor version of Fallout 76 is already sold out or else I would probably own one.  :bag: :nerd:

As cool as that stuff always looks I could never spend that much money on stuff like that.  If I were a collector I suppose is would be worth it.

CD Projekt Red is probably the only current developer who I have no problem pre ordering a game from. I have a very high degree of confidence they’ll make a game I will like.
Just take my money. That is a day one purchase for me. I am still playing The Witcher 3 and loving that game.

I have this on the wall right now.
That's pretty sweet.  I love all the collectible stuff from Fallout.  It's just a cool genre.  I'd collect things like that but I already have too many other hobbies I spend too much money in.  The wife would not approve.

FG may hate me but I've looked at the Pip-Boy and the helmet now and they're cheesy.  I wanted to get something that looked like art but was also :nerd:  .  Wife came through on that for Christmas.

The only in-box tchotchkes that I really dug were the special edition FoTR DVD set statues.

Of course they are cheesy.  I also have one of these https://www.thinkgeek.com/product/jtmp/ and one of these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FYEYMZK/ref=asc_df_B01FYEYMZK5507175/?tag=hyprod-20&creative=394997&creativeASIN=B01FYEYMZK&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216490645818&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10358221040599527153&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1027188&hvtargid=pla-349962917920

The Last of Us 2, demo tonight. Anyone have a PS4 I can borrow when it is released? Or, will I have to buy the PS5 because they will be released on the same day? (My rumor only)

I'm very excited for The Last of Us 2 along with Fallout 76.  Those two games are really all I need.

Xbone and 360 owner.  Is it worth getting a PS4 for exclusives?  I'd really like to play Bloodborne and TLOU and maybe some others.  Just tough to make the jump.  May have some peeps there for pvp options too.

What are the best PS4 exclusives?

Same boat as you / I’m waiting til The Last of Us 2.

XCom 2 is one of the free PS+ games this month...wow, rare to get a real AAA title I care about with this service. Loved the first one on the 360

I have an Xbox360 and PS4.  I never use the Xbox but not sure if maybe I'd use the Xbox One more.  I don't get much time to play games so I have to use it wisely.  I actually play my SNES more than the 360.

I know Kojima has his fanatics but Death Stranding looks like the worst game I've ever seen. He's so weird. The whole thing is so overproduced too.
