Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (2 Viewers)

Game prices are funny. They've been the same since the 90s. I remember spending $59.99 on new SNES games. Price increases are way overdue inflation-wise.

Well, at the same time, it was never that expensive to produce games on discs, and now there's practically no cost to sell digital versions, which is a huge market. There have been some big games here and there that have been sold for more than $60. It could be that $60 is the sweet spot.

Currently in love again with the re-launch of COD Warzone. Playing it late on weekends again with the crew just like during covid. Way too fun.

My backlog is absolutely jammed, but Oblivion may cut the line.

Oblivion is the first RPG I ever played. Remember way back in my younger years mostly playing just sports games thinking how much of a nerd you had to be to play wizard games, then I waltzed into a Gamestop looking for something diffferent and bought the GOTY edition for $20 (this was back about year before Skyrim, so like 09/10).

I've loved the genre ever since.

It has taken over my gaming time. Just a great RPG sandbox.

This makes me really excited for the next Elder scrolls.

Not sure if it's too late, but if you've been waiting to get an Xbox, I'd buy it now. Prices set to go up quite a bit. And Xbox games are now expected to cost $80 (!), probably later this year.

I was never an Xbox guy until I found out about Gamepass. Makes it so worth it.

Right now, Indiana Jones, Oblivion Remaster, Atomfall, and Expedition 33 are all on Gamepass.

Think we are at 2 years since the last game pass price increase (which was it's first ever increase since launch in '17), wondering if this means they'll be looking at that too soon. Still the best value out there.

MS has held firm on prices since 2020, and has been great value compared to inflation. PS already raised prices back in 2022 and Nintendo is getting savaged for their recent announcement that Switch2 games are gonna be $80. I'm sure possible tariffs may be factoring in some too.

Does anyone have any good dynasty warrior tutorials? I played the game once like 20 years ago. I downloaded the demo. I have no idea what I'm doing. I don't remember actually having to fight. I thought it was all f strategy based

Got Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 delivered yesterday finally (yes waited for a physical copy). Hoping to get started tonight.

I'm playing the Oblivion remaster after playing months of KCD2. It now feels wrong to "warp" fast travel and not have to worry about sleeping and eating either. KCD2 did those elements so well - make it a necessary part of the game without being stressful or annoying.

I was pretty frustrated with the Remaster. The number one thing they should've fixed was the crazy difficulty discrepancy between the harder difficulty and normal. Normal is a cakewalk, and Expert and above is an exercise in frustration unless you uitlize every single cheese method and exploit. The game still has the problem of Level 15+ bandits wearing full glass armor and other high level armor making them damage sponges. That shouldve been priority one to adjust but they made minimal changes there.

I can’t stop playing Hades 2 lately. I want to put it down and wait for the full release but it’s just too much fun. I can’t wait for some of y’all that enjoyed the first one to start playing the sequel.

I’ll keep an eye on this. I’m currently level 11 and it’s just the right amount of difficulty. I had about a dozen close fights where I was a hit or two away from dying and the three Argonians at once killed me several times due to them disarming me over and over.

I’m having a different experience in relation to and in contrast of KCD2… enjoying the sandbox nature and the magic of Oblivion over the more rigid KCD2.

(KCD2 is its own thing and it’s amazing)

Randomly downloaded this off of gamepass without having heard anything about it. Its a pretty amazing combination of how I remember old Final Fantasy games combined with some of the gameplay ideas and general weirdness of Elden Ring. I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

What we really need to know is which difficulty you're on, so we know if you're on the difficulty Scoresman thinks is easy, but you find it hard, or the one he thinks is hard, but you find it easy :P

Sounds like he's on Adept. If it was on Expert he would've had to kite those three Argonians halfway across the map shooting arrows that take off 1% of their health each.

Trying to get into Assassin's Creed Shadows. It has it's charm. But really hitting the Ubisoft fatigue.

Also been playing some Mario Galaxy. Been working through all of the Mario games as an adult. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 left on consoles. 3D Land on DS.

Did you do the Japanese Mario Bros 2? (Lost Levels ?)

I put it down recently but I’ve been working my way through super Mario world. Great game.

I have never played the Mario Galaxy games. Looking forward to it one day.

Yeah.

Fun Story: I got the last level (regular game, not the extra levels), and could not beat it. There was one jump I could never make. You're on a ledge which is directly over the pipe you need to be in. There's a pirhanna plant that rarely comes out. So you have to jump forward and then make Mario come backwards under the pipe.

So I cheated a little bit. You can play the game on the Switch online SNES service. And there is a rewind feature. I got to that spot and just did the jump over and over until I landed it. Got past Bowser on the first try. Just...could NOT make that jump.

Super Mario World is still the greatest of them all to me. Maybe it's the nostalgia. Super Nintendo was the first system I had as a kid. And that was THE game. I played it with my dad, my cousins, all my friends. So many fond memories. But so many cool things and cool levels.

Downloading the remix of Oblivion now on my Xbox series x for free/ sort of. It's hard for me to revisit old games when there is so much that can be done in new IP's. I'd rather get something new in this generation than old retreads. I'm not expecting much, but we'll see.
