Vikings at Redskins (1 Viewer)

Vikings are feeding the ball to ADP as they try and get the offense moving again. He's doing his thing but they'll have to take to air sooner or later.

By that, I mean something other than the dump off to Aromashodu that just gave them a first down.

What HORRIBLE play calling. Run it 6 out of 7 plays, get it to 3rd and long and then let the Redskins just bring the house. They need to pass if they want to win

That is what is so confusing about the other "WR's" on this team.. the redskins blitz, and the only WR that was even close to be open was Harvin.. Sometimes I swear if you slowed the film way down you'd find the other WR's eating  watching the game :wall:

If you slow down the film on Michael Jenkins he actually looks faster than real time.I believe the scientific explanation for this is that he's terrible.

Here in MN, we get the Michele Bachmann campaign commercials during the game. I was going to try and write something witty about it but instead here's that pic of her eating a hotdog.

Back to football.

:football:

Last week, the bend-don't-break defense worked for a while, but eventually broke down against Atlanta because they weren't getting much pressure on the QB. This week, they've managed a decent amount of pressure, which has been really helpful. Of course, having Ponder instead of Ryan as the opposing QB also helps.

I think this game shows why a top QB is so valuable to a team. The defense was doing pretty well except that they cannot stop Griffin running. Then because of that being successful everything else breaks down.

Ponder is not in the same class as Luck or Griffin. Main difference in this game. :bag:

Percy makes a catch across the middle as the Vikings open up the passing game. Percy also took a hard shot to the legs on the tackle. He looks OK but no one can take the punishment he's absorbed this season for long.

Well, that drive was a bit too easy. Good play calling by Minnesota to slow down the Redskins pass rush.

Ponder has upped the tempo and makes a quick pass to TE Rudolph for a first down to get into Skins redzone. Ponder follows this up with a dump off to Harvin who makes something out of nothing.

The electric Michael Jenkins then dives into the endzone for a short TD. He wears Vikings #84 for a reason folks.

FOX kindly plays MN's own Replacements for the bumper music to commercial.

And the playcalling in the red zone.

Aromashodu gets interfered with in the endzone. Questionable call but as a Vikes fan I'll take it.

Ball at the 1, and Ponder with an easy pass to TE Rudolph for a TD.

Vikes go for a 2 and don't get it. The target Rudolph was more hampered than Aromashodu but DOESN'T get the call. Meh.

Lame call.

He does play well in the 4th qtr though. May be hope yet.

Skins are letting Ponder work down the middle of the field.

Michael Jenkins is really showing his skills at catching the ball and making forward progress versus soft coverage.

A TD here is pretty much meaningless, but it would still be nice to see the Skins D step up a bit and keep them out of the endzone.

Settle down now. A Vikes TD, a 2 point conversion, an onside kick, and another TD and this thing is in the books.Typical East Coast bias.

Ponder throws a dumb interception to the endzone. No excuse for that one even if the Vikes are pressing for a score.

Dumb.

Skins played a good game and really took advantage of the Viking's defensive shortcomings. That is to say they struggle against awesome QBs that can run and pass really well.

If the Vikings score a couple of TDs instead of settling for FGs in the 1st qtr, Washington would not have have been able to run the offense they ran this game (sorry for the run on sentence.)
