So many storylines to play up tonight.

- Favre returns to NY

- Moss makes his 2nd debut with the Vikings

- Favre's sexy text messages to a former Jet employee

- The Vikings looking at possibly going 1-3 heading into next week's game against Dallas

- Sanchez playing like an elite QB

- LT2 playing like it's 2006

- Santonio Holmes makes his Jets debut

- Revis returning and covering Moss

The highest rated cable program ever was last years Packers/Vikings MNF game (21.8 million viewers). I think we'll have a new record tonight.

I'm pumped to watch this game just from reading your post.. Nice summary!

I think it is going to be a very interesting game. I'm sure the Vikings wish they could break in Moss against a different team. With the Bears winning again, the Vikings don't want to fall back anymore games in the division. I think with the game being on the road and with Holmes and Pace coming back for the Jets, it's going to be tough for the Vikings to pull this one out. I think it may be higher scoring than most people think. I will go Jets 30-24

After how bad the Bears looked against the Giants a couple weeks ago and with the Packers loss and injuries yesterday, I sure hope the Vikings win this game and can take this division. It'd sure be nice to see some early TD bombs to Moss...

The Vikings pursued, but were ultimately snubbed by, Ladainian Tomlinson in their effort to get a #2 back.

LT looks like the smart one there.

And the Vikes are still looking because Gerhart has given them nothing thus far.

To be fair LT probably would have been a 5 carry a game back in Minny. There is no way he'd get a significant amount of carries with AD there.

Just goes to show that he took the coward way out since he was afraid to compete with Peterson and won't be worth it down the stretch when the games mean more.

A Viking loss sets us up for another great game next week with two one win teams fighting for survival.

This.
With analysis like this, I might have to spend some more time in the Shark Pool... :hophead:

If the Vikings win tonight I think they step into the favorite's role in the NFC North. Unlike the Bears and Packers, they have offensive balance. They also at the moment are the healthiest team of the bunch. Over/Under on how many bombs Favre attempts to Moss? I'll go with five.

Headlines tomorrow:

Williams wall shuts down L.T.

Randy Moss scores two TD's with one being over 50 yards

A.P. runs for a buck fifty

S. Holmes leaves people saying who is Keller and what position does he play

The only thing Favre will accused of exposing is the jets defense

LT passed on the Vikes because he knew he wouldn't get much playing time behind AP. Doubt it had anything to do with the chances of winning a championship - if it did he would have picked minny because Sanchez isn't championship ready yet.

Wouldn't it be great if this turned out to be a high scoring game instead of the defensive struggle I hear most predicting?

Exactly. If you say L.T. looks smarter for choosing the Jets all you're really pointing out is he wanted a larger role than what Minnesota would offer, and the Jets gave him that. \

As opposed to where? Iraq?

CC could probably replace Kris Jenkins.

Do you think Moss had much a chance to look over the playbook?
Do you think he needs to with Favre throwing the ball? Route 1: Run deepRoute 2: Run somewhere. Get open. Route 3: Stay covered. Outjump your corner.Favre is going to throw it to him at least 10 times imo.

I don't see how Moss could have that many plays down in a few practices, but I'm sure they've got some deep routes mixed in there along with a handful of short/intermediate plays.

I hope this turns out like this; I'll even take the ADP numbers on the chin and still win this week.

New York knocks OUT Minnesota 4 times in one week.

per Adam Schefter:

Look for Jets CB Antonio Cromartie, not Darrelle Revis, to cover Vikings WR Randy Moss, and for Revis to cover WR Percy Harvin.

Start the game already this is football not synchronized swimming. Otherwise a run to the grocery store will be necessary for more provisions.
