I am also curious. I am going to watch the 30 minute replay later this week and see what happened.
I've heard about these 30-minute replays. Where do I see them? NFL Network?
They are part of the Sunday Ticket Package. NFC games are on channel 705 and AFC on 704.
So any insight here?
General Comments*I noticed the Bucs scorekeeper was very stingy and awarded just 5 assists to the Saints.
*Also, with just 18 carries by the Bucs (Just 14 by running backs since 1 was by a WR and 3 were by the QB) there was definitely a lack of opportunity.
*The other 2 starting LB for the Saints didn't do much either. Clark (5 tackles) and Dunbar (2 tackles)
*Vilma spent a decent portion of the day shadowing Winslow
*Vilma also blitzed 12 times.
*I have Vilma down for 9 tackles. If this was in a stadium that scores more leniently, I think he would have came away with a 3-6 or 4-5 type day. He didn't have many clean solo stops but was involved on many tackles that were not just piling on or hitting a guy when he was down already.
*He played well overall and did not miss any tackles. He did get blocked out of 1 play and bit on a play fake on one other though.
1st Offensive Series for the Bucs
*2/6 plays were runs. The 2 completed passes were away from Vilma.
*Both Running plays on the drive should have resulted in assist tackles at the very least for Vilma.
*4 tackle opportunities. 2 were completely away from him and 2 should have awarded him with at least an assist.
2nd Offensive Series for the Bucs
*4 tackle opportunities total. 2/7 plays were runs.
*Vilma blitzed on 3 of the passing plays. He also received credit for his only assist on the day on a completion to Stevens.
*On the 1 of the running plays he was right there to make the tackle but a DL beat him to it.
*This was it for Vilma and the defense in the 1st Quarter. So 8 possible tackle opportunities with 4 run plays.
*I have him marked for 3 tackles at this point.
3rd Offensive Series for Bucs
*4/9 were run plays. 7 total tackle opportunities.
*He should have been credited with an assist on one of the running plays. A more lenient scorekeeper (such as the Redskins or Pats) would have given Mayo or Fletcher credit.
*He had just one opportunity on the completions but the play was closer to Dunbar and he made the play right as Vilma was a yard or 2 away.
*Vilma bit hard on one play fake.
4th Offensive Series for the Bucs
*1/8 plays was a run. There were 3 incompletions for a total of 5 tackle opportunities.
*On the 1st and only running play Vilma got pushed around by his blocker.
*None of the completions were near him and on 3 of the pass plays he was used as a blitzer.
*
HALFTIME- I have Vilma down for 4 tackles
5th Offensive Series for the Bucs
*This series didn't start until 8:51 left in the 3rd as the Saints chewed up 6 minutes with their opening drive.
*3/6 were running plays including an Reverse to WR Benn. 5 total tackle opportunities.
*Should have been credited with a tackle on Cadilac's running play at 8:15
*Should have gotten credited with a tackle on Benn's reverse at 7:06
*Just missed a sack on Freeman at 6:20
*He blitzed on 3 of the plays
6th Offensive Series for the Bucs
*0/8 plays were runs. 6 of them were completed.
*This series started with 1:14 left in the 3rd and continued into the 4th Quarter.
*None of the completions were near Vilma and he blitzed 2 times.
7th Offensive Series for the Bucs
*4/13 plays were runs but 2 were scramble by Freeman.
*Should have gotten credit for an assist at 11:12
*Should have gotten credit for an assist at 8:55
*Should have gotten credit for an assist at 8:26
*He blitzed 1 time.
8th Offensive Series for the Bucs
*1/6 plays was a run. The lone run was a scramble by Johnson.
*Vilma was NOT in the game the final drive.
