I'm not going to give up on him just yet...I don't believe that Royal will sustain this TD pace and SD offense has value to it this year. Brown should get more involved as the season progresses. That said he is a deep bench stash and not even sniffing my lineups till I see some stats.
Not sure how often I can say it, Rivers will spread the love to all his WR's. Multiple guys will alternate big weeks. Don't over react this early. Next week could be Brown's turn. Today the offense wanted to attack Boykins, who was taking over starting duties on the outside. It may be different next week.
Coach Mike McCoy insists that Vincent Brown's touches "will come." Through three games, Brown has just eight catches for 50 yards on 14 targets despite playing 93 percent of the snaps. He's playing exclusively outside, giving up all the inside work to Eddie Royal and Antonio Gates. It's just not a productive spot in McCoy's offense. "It's not like we're trying not to get him the ball," McCoy said. "It's just Philip taking what the defense is giving him." Brown is far from being a fantasy starter, even in bye-week crunches.
Vincent Brown caught seven passes for 41 yards in San Diego's Week 4 win over the Cowboys. The seven catches were a season high, but Brown finds himself averaging just 6.06 yards per grab at the quarter pole. That's a number that would make even Julian Edelman blush. Brown has only 91 of Philp Rivers' 1,199 yards. He's not on the re-draft radar.
