Vincent Jackson Value rest of season. (1 Viewer)

I am curious what people think the value of V. Jackson is for the remainder of the season. He opened the season with a stinker, then followed for 3 weeks of great to serviceable numbers then stunk it up again last week. Now was last week just because he was hurt, missing Gates, and the disaster in the backfield( they had McMichel playing FB!!)? Or are we looking at a roller coaster season for him? I would like to think that he would see more targets with Gates missing more games this season, but I could also see him getting more double teams with Gates missing too.

I guess it would nice to hear what people are looking to do with this guy. Buy low while on a bye week? Cut losses and take what you can get for him? Hold him? Benching/Starting him?

BUY! on V.Jax if someone is selling. Every single WR in this league has weeks where they disappear/underperform, its just the nature of the position. I'm a firm believer that V.Jax is a top 10 talent at the position. He's been less than 100% and is still posting solid numbers. He will remain a WR#1 this season.

What do you all think about his #'s if Gates continues to stay out longer than expected?
Don't think his numbers really are affected by Gates. It's not one of those situations where there's only so many balls to go around. i think they can both put up big numbers in the same week. You could say VJ's numbers would go down because of less targets, but there would also be less double coverage, as safeties would have to cover Gates and could leave Vjax with some one on one coverage.

Just traded him for Ryan Mathews. I thought it was a good trade for both teams involved based on our depth and needs.

I think Champ Bailey had as much to do with last week as anything. A hobbled elite wr vs. One of the best corners in the game will usually end up with the cb winning. I am not concerned at all. It was just bad luck that Bailey came back the week they played the Chargers.

Next week he will be on Revis Island, then the better matchups begin. If you want to buy low, getting him after that game may be your beat bet.

I think he's one of the most talented WRs in the league but seems to have even more of a streaky element to his performance than others. If you went WR heavy in your draft (or are acquiring him into a strong WR group) he's a great guy to have as others' consistency should make up for his volatility, and when he hits he can win you some weeks.

He is my best WR and I think it would be a big gamble for me to try to get a sleeper WR in a trade.

I also think last week was becasue fo Champ Bailey. Gates being out is a mixed blessing. He will get some attention that was paid to Gates from Rivers and also from defenses.

He is my 2nd WR, along with Greg Jennings. This is a perfect situation for me, as Jennings provides me the consistent points, and Jackson's boom or bust doesn't hurt me quite as much.

But I have been trying to move him, mostly to try and upgrade my RB2 (MJD) or my QB (Big Ben/Eli). I don't know why, I guess I just don't trust him to stay healthy.

I considered doing some 2 for 2 deals that involved me sending Jackson to get AJ during his injury, but all the uncertainty regarding the timetable for his return ultimately kept me from getting a deal done.

What do you guys think of this deal?

I give: MJD, Vincent Jackson

I get: Forte, Garcon, Cruz

My roster is as follows (10-team .5 PPR)

QB: Roethlisberger, E. Manning

RB: Rice, MJD, D. Williams, Ingram

WR: Jennings, Jackson, Manningham, M. Williams (TB)

TE: Gronkowski

Would you deal Vjax for Andre Johnson straight up? He's on a bye, then on Revis Island next week. Good chance Andre could be back by week 8. Thoughts?

I have AJ and am considering making this proposal. I'm just worried about Revis after the bye. If I can't pull at least one win in the next couple weeks I might as well pack up and go home, my season will be over.

I've been waffling on this myself. I need a RB and I should be able to get a decent one with him but his potential keeps me from making any offers.

Right now I'm trying to sell some other pieces to shore up other positions but I'm a hold right now with him.

If you want to sell him, you're better off doing it now than waiting. Next week, he's coming off a bye and playing against Revis. The next week, he'll probably be coming off a poor stat line because of the Revis matchup.

I'm probably going to bench him next week, then enjoy his performance the remainder of the year.

That's the nail on the head. I see two more weeks where I am leery to start him. Other than that, I think he is going to put up really good numbers. I hold if I own and would definitely talk to someone if they want to sell.
