W15 and W16 DEFs to Target (1 Viewer)

Of course, this will depend on scoring system and to a lesser degree, whether you feel your matchups require a high-risk play or a more conservative approach. Here's three I'm looking at each week:

Week 15

1) Seattle Seahawks (at St. Louis) - their defense isn't very good, but then again, neither is the St. Louis offense.

2) Houston Texans (vs. Tennessee) - they've had some decent fantasy outings the last three weeks. Any chance they could perform moderately well at home against the Titans?

3) San Francisco 49ers (at Miami) - Singletary has this unit vectoring upward. Miami isn't that dynamic of an offense, is it?

Week 16

1) Houston Texans (at Oakland) - especially if they produce Week 15 against the Titans.

2) Denver Broncos (vs. Bills) - Losman is horrible, and Denver will likely be attempting to wrap up the AFC WeakEST at home (assuming a loss at Carolina coupled with a San Diego win at the Chiefs in Week 15 (hat tip to the Audible crew for this one).

3) New Orleans Saints (at Detroit) - they'll be up big early and could really smack down a devastated, soon to be 0-16 Lions squad.

What else you got, sharks?

I picked up Colts against Detroit Week 15...and Texans against Oakland Week 16.

Saints defense stinks...so I figured I'd have a better chance with a Texans team that mathematically aren't out of the playoffs yet.

I snatched up seattle for this week, and 9ers for next week(hopefully)

Both playing the Rams, so common theme there. Did think about Cleveland for week 16, and can pull that trigger if the rams look decent against seattle this week, but I'll most likely stick with the anti-rams Ds...

I have both the Eagles and Dolphins and for this week, I'm going with the Eagles at home against the Browns.

I picked up Miami a while ago for the playoffs. I'm thinking of getting the Colts off waivers this week and sticking with Miami for week 16.

So, Colts home against Detroit week 15.

Then Miami @ KC week 16.

I would disagree on the Week 16 DEN play...I picked them up the last time they played OAK and they didn't do anything. BUF could just run Lynch and Jackson all day and still probably punt <50% of their drives for the day. With Bailey hurt and DEN depleted at LB, they can't be trusted as a fantasy D.

I like Indy also but also have Balt D. They've been hot lately but Indy at home against Detroit with no QB is very tempting.

Shark move was to pickup Miami and/or Indy back around week 12

who's the better play in week 16.... Hou vs Oak or Cle vs Cin??
Houston.
Cleveland is at home vs in state rival... Hou is away at Oakland.may be bad weather in cleveland... probably mild in Oakland.
I am aware of all of those factors.Houston also has a top 5 offense that puts pressure on opposing teams to keep up. Cleveland has an offense that guarantees the defense will be on the field a lot.You asked.

Don't take it the wrong way, I like the feedback...just trying to stimulate some discussion. Good input!

Really wanted Indy last week but lost my WW claim to a non-playoff team. Doh !!

Wash vs. Cinn this week looks pretty tasty.

I am also wondering if Clev @home vs. Cinn will be tasty as well, with the possibility of bad weather .......

In my leagues Washington is dead last in fantasy points. At least with New England you can figure on some good schemes to confuse a terrible offense. I was able to pick up Indy this week in one of my leagues but my starting defense is Tenn. It is tempting but a bit of a gamble. Good luck with your 50G. I'm glad my friends from last week, Clinton and Marion, didn't hang me out for that kind of dough with my loss to a 5-8 team in the playoffs.

AZ again this week:

- at home

- Vikings give up a lot of sacks and turnovers

- Tavaris Jackson will likely be starting at QB

- Vikes lead the league in ST turnovers allowed

- Only 3 teams have given up more TDs off turnovers than the Vikings

WASHINGTON @ Cincinatti this week
Good one I have been looking at this match up for about a month sense I have the Giants def and the Cowboys qb. Just makes no sense to start your qb vs your defense at least in this league format. The Skins will shut this team down if not out. Did you see the week the Colts had last week vs them?

I picked up zona as they've been really hot and am worried about MInn losing the williams wall before friday.

plus, tavarous will be playing right?

;) We are on the same exact page here. Also MIN will have to play catchup. What does ST stand for by the way?

It's killing me, but I'll be benching the Titans (whom I've rode all year to GET to the playoffs) in favor of Miami at home verse the 49ers.

Ive got Indy this week. Thats a no brainer, if it doesnt pay off, its something you cant beat yourself up over cause....well its the ####### lions :)

As for 16, I had SF for the Rams matchup, but dropped them to pick up CLV against Cincy. Obviously the status of SJax and Palmer make a big difference between these two teams. I do think SF has been coming on though, and I could just as easy switch back to SF depending on this weekend.

As for CLV, agree with earlier poster about how their offense STINKS now, so that doesnt help the D. HOWEVER, did you guys notice that old Dorsey threw ZERO picks against a tough Titans D last week?!?! Not sure if that was a fluke, but if he is ultra conservative with the ball, then at least you dont have to worry about them giving up good field position.

I will say though, I completely over looked HOU vs Oak. Now thats a sleeper....I like that a lot. I agree that Oak may start trying to force things to stay in the game and could get burned by it. Im gonna keep my eye on that no doubt....

And honestly, for the Indy owners, their week 16 vs Jax isnt a bad one either. The D has been playing well, and Jax really is packing it in. I would start them, but ill prob be starting MJD, and I just cant bear to start my Offensive guys against my Defense....especially in week 16. Too....wishy washy for me.

Sorry. ST = Special Teams. I meant to say:- Vikes lead the league in ST (special teams) TDs allowed

FFtoday has Min listed as +39% scoring for Def/ST. That's huge. I'm surprised that Min is that bad. Cardinals seem to be a good start again this week. Still makes me nervous in the playoffs, but Arizona has to be better than Chicago against NO this week.

This is EXACTLY what I did in 2 leagues. Colts this week (though using Miami with Gore probably out is tempting) and Miami should I make it to week 16.

Someone just dropped Miami, hoping they clear waivers.....are they better than a NYG or ARI D at this point?

Not to thread hijack here, but anyone think the Eagles are ranked too low this week? I can't see how they don't eat Dorsey alive on MNF at home. Am i missing something?

I have the Titans but I am considering starting Indy v Detroit over them. I think Texans can score and Detroit is awful, so they may turn the ball over a lot and give up a DST score as well. Then again, Titans are a good unit, do I bench them? Tough call for me.

Indy D over TN D is a no brainer this week. Houston...at home...with playmakers on offense will put up points (sure..they may give up a couple of sack and an INT, but they will score). Detroit is pathetic and if CPepp is out....even worse. I'm also a TN D owner, but am rolling the dice and going with Miami this week and hoping Gore is out (my league rewards big point for holding an opponent to 10 points or less).

Yeah, I am going to roll with Indy this week, the matchup is pretty solid. Thanks for that.

Surprised so many are high on MIA vs. KC in week 16. If you're in a league that counts points scored against, I would stay away from this MIA here. KC will be able to put some points on the board versus that suspect Miami pass D.

I know. Even though the ruling went good I am having a hard time not starting Zona over Minn. Ap is great but w/tavarous there have to be a few turnovers, and AZ has been very opportunistic turning TO's into TD's this year. I don't see Tavarous changing that. Was suprised dods only game AZ .1 tds on defense this week in his projections. :D . Plus warner has been playing like an MVP. I mean Orton lit this team up for 50. Warner could easily do the same, especially without the benefit of a QB like Frerrote who is a much better "game manager" than Tavarous.Hard time over. I just convinced myself. If you told me preseason that in my first round of the playoffs Id have these twop d's, and be playing Zona I'd have laughed you out of the building.
