W7 Game Thread - Detroit v NY Jets (1 Viewer)

J E T S JETS JETS JETS

Not to jinx or anything, but the Jets should win this game. I see a lot of scoring - maybe 38-31 Jets.

Mike Williams inactive again. One win and they cant find a way to get a top 10 pick on the field. How is it Matt Millen still has a job.

I don't think it's a reflection on Millen at all. Some has Williams as the top player in the draft. Williams at number 10 was an excellent pick, especially since Charles Rogers was useless. It's not his fault that the coaches can't get much out of him, or that he's become a lazy bum.

I think, at the time of the draft, he thought he was getting the next Moss. Top talent(as you said), the way he fell, attitude probs etc

Pennington better blow up, I've started him above Vick and Hasselbeck (x2)
WOW. that's a gutsie move. Especially since Vick just scored. I think my tough choice would have been between Vick and Hasselbeck. Matt's going to do pretty well at home with out a running game today.

Wow.

Best Jets drive of the season. The Lions D is horrible without Shaun Rogers. Spartans Rule was right, without him the Lions D is nonexistent.

First Jets first-quarter offensive TD in 21 games.

A few weeks ago I wrote that the Jets running game was horrible, and it didn't look like it would get much better. At the time the RBs had averaged 2.30 YPC.

Up until today, Jets RBs had averaged 3.20 YPC for the season.

On that drive, Jets RBs ran 4 times for 43 yards. :wow:

FOX just showed Donnie Henderson on the sidelines. I had forgotten he's the Lions defensive coordinator. That makes everything I wrote before about the Jets offense being impressive, irrelevant.

And the Jets have 4 carries for 43 yds and 1 TD midway thru the 1st...guess Rogers out, plus Cody...if the Lions can't stop the run their offense will never be on the field today...could be a quiet day for Kitna and Roy Williams...KJ too.

Mangold just spun NT, and then missed next "extra" block. Very close to long run if he hits that guy(Boss?)

Nice play by Pennington.

Last week, he scrambled on 4th and like 6, ran for 5 yards, and then slid before the first down maker. Had he not slid, he would have had the first down.

This time, on 3rd and 3, the same situation arose as he approached the marker. Instead of sliding, he crouched/dove forward and picked up the first down.

Dear Pennington,

you're gonna get hurt if you keep doing that

Sincerely,

Jets Season

Great call by Schottenheimer. The Lions crowded the line, and you might think the Jets could run for a first down on 3rd and 1. But they can't, and I'm glad Schottenheimer didn't trick himself into thinknig they could.

Play action, deep bomb to McCareins. Surprisingly good coverage considering the situation and the nice play-fake, but he caught it for a long TD.

The Jets with two 80 yard TD drives. Pennington looking smooth.

What's happening? CBS's in-game was showing Jets at the DET 2, now they show them back at their own 15.
