Sean Weatherspoon is out again this week, raising concerns that his knee sprain could have him out a month or longer. Stephen Nicholas starts again for him and should play every down. Dunta Robinson won’t play with a concussion. Curtis Lofton didn’t practice much Wednesday with a knee issue, but hasn’t been on the injury report in two days and is ready to go.

Barrett Ruud is questionable with a toe injury, but gradually increased to a full practice on Friday.

Rocky McIntosh practiced fully all week and should play. Whether he plays every down or the Redskins choose to use more dime looks is a concern however. LaRon Landry is again questionable, this time with a heel injury, but practiced in limited fashion Thursday and Friday and XXX.

Clay Matthews was limited all week but is expected back. AJ Hawk was limited Thursday and Friday, but Brandon Chillar practiced fully on Friday. Both are listed probable and it’ll be interesting to see who plays in the nickel with the two presumptive best bets playing through injury.

Gerald Hayes practiced this week but hasn’t been activated from the PUP list yet. Local observers are expecting Hayes and Paris Lenon to be the base 3-4 linebackers when Hayes returns.

Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer are questionable, but highly unlikely to play after not practicing all week. If Greer can’t play, it isn’t clear who will start opposite Patrick Robinson, although the activation of Darren Sharper (if he’s ready to play more than a rotational role could allow Malcolm Jenkins to move to corner. Will Smith was limited all week, but is probable. Scott Shanle was back for only a limited practice on Friday and is questionable, too. The Saints used Danny Clark at SLB and moved Jo-Lonn Dunbar to WLB with Shanle out last week, but Marvin Mitchell saw lots of subpackage snaps ahead of both starters.

Quentin Groves is expected back at WLB for Oakland, with Trevor Scott and Matt Shaughnessy back in rotation at DE. Tyvon Branch is questionable with a back injury that limited him all week.

Renaldo Hill and Nathan Jones played safety for Denver, with Jones getting a little more time in the box. That should continue again this week. The Broncos may again use more 4-3 this week in base situations, with DJ Williams inside and Mario Haggan (SLB) and Jason Hunter (WLB) outside.

Jaguars expect Sean Considine back this week, but it’s unclear who will get the most snaps among Considine, Courtney Greene and Don Carey in rotation.

Kyle Williams injured an ankle in practice this week and didn’t practice Thursday or Friday. That could limit possible plans to use a 4-3 against Baltimore.

Ed Reed was activated from the PUP list and looks ready to play this week.

Zackary Bowman is out with a foot injury. Tim Jennings will get every snap in his place.

Jonathan Joseph is questionable with an ankle injury and only made it through a limited practice on Friday this week. Chinedum Ndukwe still starts for the injured Roy Williams.

Tony Brown is questionable, but didn’t practice all week with a knee injury.

Any more recent news on Briggs since this:

(KFFL) Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs (ankle) and FS Major Wright (hamstring) were limited during practice Friday, Oct. 22, reports Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Tribune. They are listed as questionable for Week 7. Briggs is expected to play in the game, while Wright is not expected to play.

Misread the injury designation on Briggs. Thought he was probable. He's been talking to the media since before practice on Thursday about the matchup and his expectations to play. Didn't see anything that suggested a setback on Friday, so I expect that he's ready to go.

Courtney Greene and Don Carey starting at safety for Jacksonville.

Greene will play SS, and though it's possible Sean Considine could rotate, local reports suggest he's the odd man out here. That makes sense after he played very little last week. Greene might be working his way into consideration as a DB3+ again.

Christopher Owens starting for Dunta Robinson.

Porter, Greer and Shanle inactive for Saints.

Johnathan Joseph inactive.

Barrett Ruud active today.

Lance Briggs officially active and starting.

Tony Brown inactive. More snaps for Jason Jones in a pass rush matchup with upside.

Frostee Rucker starting at RDE for Cincinnati.

Adam Jones staring for JJoseph.

Per Jeff Duncan: Malcolm Jenkins starting at corner, Usama Young at FS. Sharper to see time in subpackages.
Anything up with Roman Harper? Have not seen his name mentioned in the game yet.
Haven't seen the game yet, but there are only six legitimate rushing attempts and five pass completions (five rushes by McCoy, Bell and Figurs caught behind LOS). Game is being dominated by CLE defense and special teams.
