Wait for Schaub? (1 Viewer)

I have only seen some highlights and stats and don't really know how to rank Shaub. He has some decent stats, but seems to be under heavy pressure each snap. Can the line protect him this year or will Sage be in the mix with an injury to Shaub. I believe he has a lot of potential, but I don't know if he can be counted on while passing up on the better Qb's in the draft looking for the value at his draft slot.

He's worth a look late in drafts, but I wouldn't feel confident with him as my #1 QB. Injury risk and unproven track record. If you get him, and use a very late pick on Sage you will probably have decent value there.

My idea is to get both Schaub and Rosenfels. I think that if Schaub gets hurt Rosenfels will be really solid. I'm intending to do either this or Leinart/Warner. Both can be had cheap and have the potential to seriously outscore their ADP. IF you pair these with any number of midrange QBs you could be in pretty good shape.

I was able to grab Schaub pretty late after I had filled a good bit of my lineup and built nice depth at RB and WR. I backed him up soon after with Campbell (plays Detroit on Schaub's bye) who I think plays a fairly easy schedule. Couple that with Houston having an up and coming offense with a dominant WR. I'm comfortable going into my season with Schaub. I think Schaub can be a QB who ends up top 7 or higher as long as he stays healthy. I think they will be in a few shootouts considering their defensive backfield. If you do wait on Schaub, I would be quick to grab a backup though.

Yes, the line can protect him. The Texans offensive line is vastly better and deeper than it's ever been. I assume your impressions are based on what you saw last night against Dallas, but you should know that bedrock lineman Chester Pitts wasn't playing and that second-year player Kasey Studdard started in his place. Studdard's been solid in his run blocking, but he struggled last night against the Cowboys D linemen. He was a big reason Dallas got pressure on the QB. Despite him, Schaub and Rosenfels moved the chains through the air.
