Waiver Wire Gems - Week 2 (1 Viewer)

Mixon is currently 2nd in the league in rushing.  He has been fantastic and Cincy invested a first round pick in him.  He'll be right back to starting when he returns
Yeah, I think Gio has gotten less usage this year than in past years with Mixon's arrival. Mixon had trouble cracking the lineup last year until about Week Six (I had him rostered). I thought Mixon was a second-rounder, but he definitely is 2nd in rushing this year, which is all that matters.

You're right.  2nd round.  Nice catch

#1 priority sitting 0-2.

Ekeler available

K. Cole available

Robby Anderson available

C. Clement available.

Problem is my whole team appears to be potential that isn't hitting, injury with Baldwin, and underperforming OBJ and DJ

RBs...DJ, Freeman and Lindsay, P. Barber, Michel

WRs...OBJ, Baldwin, Agholor, Goodwin, Crabtree

Crabtree seems the odd many out right now...but to pick up who...if its even worth dropping him.

Eh, I drafted him last year so I was familiar with the back story and round, that's all. Still, that's essentially first-round territory for a running back, which sounds stupid, but it's a high pick to use on one.

Cole is the only "reliable" one on the list.  Though Clement is probably the call with the roster.

As an Ndroppu owner, I'll be looking to add a TE. Only question is which one?

Dissly, ASJ, Butt, James, Hooper all available. Leaning Hooper, ASJ, James in that order. Not looking to spend more than minimum bids on any.
Njoku has a 20% Target share through two weeks. Which one of those others is going to get that? If you have options to pick up at RB/WR I’d go that route first then shotgunning for TE TD’s.

Also, Hooper or James if you’re hell bent on doing it but I’d give Njoku one more week.

I agree that Mixon will go right back to starting. However IMO this will become even more of a 50/50 timeshare for ROS. Bengals looking like legit playoff contenders and they will want both backs healthy. My guess is the Mixon injury has put a scare into them and will make them dial back his workload a bit. Just an opinion.

Yeah...Clement and Cole are the two Im most considering.

Im just so full fo potential and hype at this point.  Forgot to add Collins to my list of backs.  Whole team is struggling.

I'm completely lost and befuddled.  Been doing this for 10+ years.  My QB1 is Goff.  Should I use #1 waiver on the Beard and start him moving forward?

I think Goff is gonna be a high floor potentially high ceiling week to week. We know what Fitz has been over his long career, however, they do have lots of talent and some good play calling and no running game. My gut tells me this could continue. History say's it won't.

Fitz should be good again this week against Pitt.

I do like Fitz this week. But that’s prob the last. I may actually drop Taylor for him. But I have Ben as my starter. QB is always the hardest position for me.

ETA: And I have Winston on my bench. But don’t really want two spots taken up.

Tyler Boyd
We should maybe be talking more about Tyler Boyd as a pickup.  John Ross got the preseason buzz but Boyd might be the true #2 option on a team that looks very much improved and has a GREAT passing schedule.

I'm intrigued.

Roto:

Tyler Boyd caught 6-of-9 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' Week 2 win over the Ravens.

The 91 yards tied a career high, as did the targets. Running comfortably ahead of John Ross behind A.J. Green, Boyd was creating cushion for his catches. He now has nine grabs for 117 yards and a score through the Bengals' first two games. He could be coming onto the WR5 radar in fantasy.

Are folks in your leagues snatching Ekeler off waivers? I have the #3 waiver spot (it doesn't reset weekly) and I'm thinking I need to burn it to get him (I have Gordon). Curious if he's clearing waivers in your leagues as to where he can be picked up as a FA afterwards.

Ekeler is a top 10 PPR RB through 2 weeks.  I wouldn't wait regardless of whether I had Gordon.

Gio's going to be sick the next 2-4 weeks.  Breida may have more value once Mixon is back.

I'd probably lean towards Gio now, figure the rest out later.

I have top waiver priority (.5 pt PPR league) and am trying to decide between Funchess and Ekeler tonight.  My WR's are a little thin, but it does seem Ekeler is going to get his even with a healthy Gordon.

who is everyone dropping for this weeks WW adds?

the RB/ WR's I'm seeing available in most leagues are:

  • Gio
  • Ekeler
  • A. Jones
  • Cole
  • Callaway
  • DJax (in some leagues)
Are people giving up on players such as the below foe them:

  • Cobb
  • Burkhead
  • D. Parker
  • K. Benjamin

Why would you ever believe in Benjamin to begin with? Parker too. Ekeler, DJax and Cole should be, at least 90% owned in every league.

Benjamin, while on a terrible team, is still the #1 there... so still warrants consideration IMO. Sure I'd take DJax over him, but is Callaway really "That" much of an improvement? maybe/ maybe not

And please stop with the "should be owned in "X%" of leagues. As stated above, there's a number of different sized leagues with different requirements. I'm in 12-team leagues with Ekeler, DJax, & Cole still available (maybe not all 3 in all, but at least 1-2 are available in every one).

That was more of a prediction after waivers run. Ergo, strike now while you can.
fair enough and appreciate the clarification. After this week, I too, believe that all 3 of Ekeler, DJax and Cole should be owned in a significant # of leagues.

That being said, to my previous question; are any of these guys worth adding over more "known" commodities such as Burkhead, Cobb, etc...? I'll agree that Benjamin & Parker are likely droppable (was more playing devil's advocate to gather others opinions)

Gio's going to be sick the next 2-4 weeks.  Breida may have more value once Mixon is back.

2 things concern me with Gio

- Chance Mixon only misses 1 game

- Gio’s first start is against Carolina

Having trouble picking between Gio, Clement, Breida. Ugh. PPR

anyone else in similar boat ?
I don’t know why breida isn’t owned in every league. I know we’re only two weeks into the season, but he’s the leagues leading rusher

Need a TE with losing Walker and picking up J. Smith last week.

I have ASJ, McDonald, James, and Butt available in full PPR.

How would you rate these to drop J. Smith?

I'd love to add him but I'm already rolling out AJ & Dalton every week (super-flex). Adding Boyd may be smart but feels like too big of an investment in the Bengals.

Aaron Jones should be rostered over all of those guys except maybe Cobb.

I dropped Burkhead for Gio.  Debating if I want to drop AP and/or Peyton Barber for Aaron Jones and/or Ekeler.  Thoughts anyone?

I dropped Mack for Gio (own Mixon) and Barber for Aaron Jones. Ekeler was not available. Barber has received several touches and done so little with them, that I just preferred to go with the lottery ticket. However, one of my league-mates immediately scooped Barber up.

Doug Peterson says RBs Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles are both day-to-day but said Sproles’ recovery is “a little longer.” Team promoted RB Josh Adams to the roster yesterday. Sounds like Sproles is doubtful.

Deciding between Mathews and Callaway
Callaway all day every day.

Matthews got no sizzle, he got no shake and he certainly got no bake. Callaway got all that, especially the bake.

Seriously, Matthews is one of the least inspiring pickups I can think of.

Yep, you're right.  With that bench spot need to go for upside

Where does Mike Williams fit into the conversation ? I think his usage could increase as the season progresses and he’s already a red zone target

I'm a fan, and owner, and I agree. The TDs are awesome but his target share overall has been incredibly disappointing. Not sure he got a target before the fourth quarter in week one then only two last week (again it's great he salvaged tlboth games with TDs).

I guess the Buffalo game was never in doubt, Rivers only threw 27 passes but, I don't know, I would think they would maybe try to work him in more if he really is a top 10 overall pick level talent.

Holding and cautiously optimistic that his share increases as the season goes on.

If they were just calling up Adams to fill Sproles' roster spot, why didn't they do this last week? It seems like Ajayi is a very serious question mark to play.

Clement looked good. Maybe not a bad thing for those of us that handcuffed.  Clement would have backfield to himself.

He would be a good play if Ajayi went down but he would split with Smallwood.
