Starting w/ a recap of your wisdom for this week...

TEAM 1

QB (1)

Anderson v HOU

Schaub @ CLE

Ride Anderson as long as he is hot

RB (2)

Bush @ CAR

KJones v GB

Maroney v PHI

KWatson v TEN

Bush for sure. None of the others are great matchups, but I would go with either KJ or Maroney, depending on their health. We will not know for another day on each.

Leaning towards Kenny Watson over Maroney---plus Watson catches a lot of balls (PPR)---THOUGHTS?

Watson should be a better start but the Tenn run defense is pretty good. Watson will get you 10-12 PPR points

WR(3)

Wayne @ ATL

Housh v TEN

Berrian v DEN

Crayton v NYJ

Wayne, Housh and Crayton

Crayton was OUT & Berrian is hurt and may not play--Even if he does I don't expect much--So...here are the WW options I have---

Who would you drop Berrian or Crayton to grab one of the guys below:

Kevin Walter (HOU)

Justin Gage (TEN)

Brandon Stokely (DEN)

Nate Washington (PIT)

I might take a chance on Washington over Berrian who is hurt and will have Champ on him

TE (1)

Gonzo v OAK

H Miller v MIA

Gonzo

------------------------------------------------------------------

TEAM 2

RB (2)

S Jackson v SEA

R Grant @ DET

S Young @ CHI

K Jones v GB

K Watson v TEN

M Lynch @ JAC

What good options. SJax for sure and Selvin over Grant.

Selvin is unlikely to play, Jones & Grant are done, Lynch is a no go---So Jax is #1 Kenny Watson appears to be my only other option--how afraid should I be?? The WW is slim but here are my options....please add in who you would drop

Mo Morris (SEA)

Kevin Faulk (NE)

MoMo is a no brainer here, imo

WR (3)

Wayne @ ATL

DJ Hackett v STL

C Henry v TEN

P Crayton v NYJ

Welker v PHI

Wayne, Hackett and Henry

FLEX WR/RB from the guys above

Another tough one. Comes down to Welker, Crayton or Grant or KJ.

FLEX this week looks like my best option is to go with a WR this week. So Welker looks to be the guy...thoughts? Welker should have a good game

Okay buddy----I am looking forward to your wise words :penalty:
Okay Jeff---Final check in....Hoping that Reggie will play -- Who should be #2 Maroney or Kenny Watson?

Berrian is supposed to play as well--do you like him better than Washington?

Good Luck to you this week!

I like Mason. He is getting alot of catches and yards. Second choice would be Crayton who will either have a great game or a poor one.

Hi Jeff, hope your season is going well. I think I may squeak into the playoffs in both league. I need a week 14 defense. I have Pit vs Pats. Not a good matchup. Will Brady be riding pine by then?

My options are:

CLE @ NYJ

CIN vs STL

DEN vs KC

ATL vs NO

STL @ CIN

KC @ DEN

NO @ ATL

MIA @ BUF

NYJ vs CLE

CAR @ JAX :ptts:

BUF vs MIA

Too many options. It is Team D/ST 1pt sacks, 2 fr, 2int, 4td. Yards against. There is no points against

Initially I wanted Den, But CLE, NO, BUF and MIA all have favorable matchups. Obviously week 14 is a must win.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey Dave,I expect Brady and company to try to blow out the Steelers to send a message for the playoffs. The matchups I would consider are:

KC vs Denver with the way the Chief Defense is playing. Keep an eye on the Surtain injury. But, Jared Allen and company are getting good pressure on opposing QBs.

I like Buffalo and we should know more on how Beck looks after tonight. Also, much will depend on Ricky/Chatman.

I like Cincy if Bulger is out, but not otherwise.

Cleve prob has the best chance to score some huge points with Cribbs returning kicks and playing a weak run game and an erratic young passer. Also, there is a very good chance Coles will still be out with the high ankle sprain.

Hey Jeff

Quick WW question.

I have Berrian and Nate Washington.

I dropped Crayton for Washington this week. After tonight I will reverse it dropping Washington (b/c Holmes will be back) for Crayton.

Berrian or should I say Grossman drives me nuts...so I want to say bye bye to Berrian...

I like Stokely do you? I know Walker is back but he is the Welker of the Broncos.

Kevin Walter & Justin Gage are also available.

As usual thanks for the advice!

I won't know if I won until after tonight in both leagues. Counting on the Steelers D, Heath Miller & Washington.

I would hang onto Berrian. The only other guy I like from that list is Gage. I would not want to start Stokely. He is the 3rd ro 4th option for them while Berrian is the top receiver for the Bears.

I will stick with Berrian (great points)--Should I leave Crayton on the WW and grab Justin Gage instead?

Sad day--the news about Sean Taylor is so unfortunate. Prayers are with his family & teammates. :gang2:

Please tell me why I am struggling with grabbing Gage & leaving Crayton behind? Green Bay's defense is not going to pull an Eagles shut down of Randy Moss on T.O. right? Crayton is not going to deliver a Wes Welker performance Thursday night, right.Gage has become Young's #1 guy.....their running game is slipping and Young will be more consistent and the Titans will look much better than this past SUnday...right?

All of this over thinking is the girl in me. I made the playoffs in both leagues (With the help of your great advice) please tell me to relax & go get Gage. I have even read the projections on these guys and most show Gage w/ a TD, not Crayton. Gage is also on a lot of Who to Pick Up suggestions.

Again, I apologize for my rambling.

DJax is expendable. TB has three good matchups in weeks 15-17 (falcons, 9ers, Panthers). Indy has two good matchups in 14 and 15 versus the Ravens and Raiders). If drops are free, I might look to drop Bal and DJax for Detroit and Indy, then play matchups. Detroit gets to play against Tarvaris Jackson and the Vikings this week.

I like the Detroit defense this week. Tarvaris has not been consistent and Peterson will only get half the carries. In a game that could be a shootout, you want whomever is playing the Vikes.

Hi Jeff,

A few questions and lots of thanks to you. I'm 10-2 in my main league, and have a two game lead with only two games left in our regular season. Our waivers run tonight. Playoffs are wks 15-16.

Runners start two: AP yea, Jackson,Lewis,Wright,Dayne. ( I'm feelin good with Peterson and Jackson down the stretch)

I'm trying to decide between some Wr's. These are most likely just depth situations. Homes is out, and I'm not sure when he might be back. Wayne wr1,Plax,Henry,Branch, S. Moss. We start 3. STokely... Battle, Gage,Rice are on the wire, but I think Henry and Branch can fill in with Holmes out. ????

I have Witten, and my only question here is should I pick up Scheffler just for insurance.

I thought of adding the Jags, Bucs, or Browns Def. Already have the vikes D.

Another team need to win this week: Bulger or Favre this week?

Need Two: James,Graham,Taylor,K. SMith,MJD

Pick three: Housh,S. SMith,Hackett hurt,Jennings yes,Chambers,Calvin Johnson. I'm guessing Housh,Gennings,Johnson

I would wait a week before starting Holmes. You should be fine at WR. One thought might be the deicison between Santana and Henry. Henry against Pitt might be a tough one, but Santana is a good option.

I have Witten, and my only question here is should I pick up Scheffler just for insurance. no need for scheffler

I thought of adding the Jags, Bucs, or Browns Def. Already have the vikes D.

Another team need to win this week: Bulger or Favre this week? favre easily. The game could be a shootout. Also, Bulger is not back from his concussion.

Need Two: James,Graham,Taylor,K. SMith,MJD I like Graham a lot this week against New Orleans. The next one is tougher. I would go with James or Kolby. Lean slightly to Edge after what Dayne did to the Browns. But, Kolby should have 70-80 total yds.

Pick three: Housh,S. SMith,Hackett hurt,Jennings yes,Chambers,Calvin Johnson. I'm guessing Housh,Gennings,Johnson Great options. Housh, Jennings for sure. Then, either Calvin or SSmith. This is close. Calvin does get a great matchup against the Vikings, so I would lean that way. But, hard to bench Smith if Vinny is back under center.

Would you keep the second Defense or drop one of them for Justin Gage? No. Indy has some good matchups left.I could drop one of my tight ends for Gage as well. Keep both TEs

My concern about dropping either of them right now is having one of the other playoff teams scooping them up.

As usual thanks for all the time and advice!

LT is the easy one. I would go with Fred Taylor slightly over KJ. The Minny defense is stout against the run.

WR (start 2)

Wayne v JAC ***

Marshall @ OAK

Holmes v CIN (Questionable) and bad weather sloppy Pitt field?? (Late Sun Night game decision doesn't help either)

C. Henry v @ PIT same Pitt weather/field?? (same game time)

K. Curtis v SEA

Wayne is easy. I think I would go with Marshall slightly over Curtis. I would give Santonio a week to see how he plays. Starting him has too much risk (like Walker last week).

TE (start 1)

D. Lee @ DAL

Shockey

Broncos. Since they are in the playoff hunt, they will need to beat the Raiders.

I messed up last week sat KJ and last minute decided Benson over Marshall (thought Walker/weather would affect) and lost by ONE Point due to Bensons injury.

Thanks in advance again for any and all help/advice you can give me!!!

Here we go.....

TEAM 1

QB

Romo v GB

Bulger v ATL

Romo every week while he is playing so well

RB (2)

Grant @ DAL

SJax v ATL

KJones @ MIN

Watson @ PITT

Andre Hall @ OAK

SJax and Grant. The other two play two of the top three run defenses.

WR (3)

Wayne v JAC

Welker @ BAL

Crayton v GB

D Branch @ PHI

Wayne, Welker and Branch .. all three are great plays.

**FLEX WR or RB from above -- please pick 1**

Crayton or Kevin Jones is the question. I think I would go with KJ just because he catches so many balls.

What about Andre Hall? If he is good to go, isn't his match up against Oakland too hard to pass up at the Flex spot? Or should I drop Hall for Young and start him?

DEF (1)

Pitt v CIN

Vikings v DET

This is a tough one. Minn defense on a hunch.

I was leaning towards the Vikings, my concern about Pitt is the Bengals putting up big numbers in the air.

With AP back this week...you have to like the Vikings right??

K (1)

Wilkins v ATL

Janikowski v DEN

Scobee @ INDY

If for the rest of the season, I would go with either Scobee or Wilkins. With SJax back and running well, I would go with Wilkins.

Scobee has been posting big numbers, but Wilkins is consistent...so I will follow your lead & stick with him

I will only have 1 kicker after you make your pick.

Would you drop the Vikings Defense for Justin Gage? Would you rather stay pat for the playoff run with the WR's I have?[b] I would stay put.

TEAM 2

QB

Anderson

RB (2)

Maroney @ BAL

K Jones v MIN

K Watson @ PITT

Bush for sure. I might lean to KJ with the way maroney has been used. Little upside.

I would love to go with Maroney especially on MNF, do you really like K Jones vs the Vikes d? I get a PPR, Watson catches a lot of ball too....

What do you think about Chicago's APeterson or NYG's Derrick Ward this week. Are either worth dropping Jones, Watson or Maroney? I have some real problems at RB...

WR (3)

Berrian v NYG

Crayton v GB

Wayne, Housh, Berrian

You don't like Al Harris to cover and limit T.O.? I was thinking that Crayton may pull a Welker performance tomorrow night.

Did that sway you? I worry about the Giants rebounding defensively and crushing Grossman.

The only reason they won last week was because of Hester.

TE (1)

Gonzo v SD

Gonzo

I know that Miller sucked this past week, but it was MUD BOWL! I haven't seen Gonzo get near the attention he should from Croyle yet...it appears that he favors Bowe. Do you really trust him against the Chargers defense?

Colts v JAC

Colts defense. Favre will throw a couple of picks, but the Packers will put up some points. Better chance Indy scores.

Last week Dallas blew me away with their performance. I don't want to leave 20 on the bench. I am afraid of Farve still getting at least 3 td's....so I agree with you and the Colts

Would you keep the second Defense or drop one of them for Justin Gage? No. Indy has some good matchups left.I could drop one of my tight ends for Gage as well. Keep both TEs

It is Fred or Chester (splitting time with Peterson) or KJ (playing against the Vikes). I did some research, and here are the averages for the opponents of the three for the last four weeks:

Detroit (chester): 22 carries for 73 yards and .3 TDS

Minny (KJ): 25 carries, 75 yards and .8 TDs

Indy (Fred): 27 carries for 95 yards and .3 TDs

I think there is some reasoning why these numbers are like they are, but after looking at this data, I would probably go with KJ.

Jeff, thank you for all your help on these questions. it's a great service to others.

I have a quick gut-check here for a flex spot. TD-only scoring league

Heath Miller vs. Cincy (6 tds to date, muddy field again)

Ike Bruce vs. ATL (2 tds to date, but both in the past 3 weeks)

what's your gut say about these two?

A couple things to think about. In the last four weeks, ATL is averaging giving up 1.3 passing TDs a game. Cincy is giving up only 1.0. On the season, ATL is stil at 1.3 but Cincy is 2.0.I would probably go with Bruce if Bulger is playing and Mille if not. Gus Frerotte just is not the QB Bulger is. But, with Deangelo Hall covering Holt, Bruce will have more room to run

Look how much the Falcons gave to Gonzalez (Colts) last week while holding Wayne in check.

All good points - Frerotte wasn't horrible in relief last week and seemed to look for Bruce last week as well. I think I may go with Bruce, since I already have Big Ben going in that Steeler-Cincy game, and would hate to have another mudfest with both he and Miller going. Rolling with Bruce will spread my options a bit.

In my dynasty league Caddy has been on the WW for a few weeks and next week is our last week for FA pickups. Do you like him next year over C. Taylor and M. Turner. If I pick him up I have to drop one of the 2 and right now I am thinking Taylor.

I would order them: Turner>Caddy>ChesterI do not know if you could pull it off, but Chester might be tradeable to another owner for a future pick. Then, pick up Caddy. But, at the minimum, I would drop Chester for Caddy ... sooner than later because someone else will have the same idea.

Another question for you, this is a redraft league would you pickup O. Daniels or T. Scheffler and drop Heap. I will be in the playoffs which start next week so I don't really need a TE for this week but for the next 3 weeks after this week. Should I stay with Heap and hope he plays the those 3 weeks or pickup one of the other TEs that I know will be starting.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't start Crayton and well you know the rest....Grant and Crosby posted nice numbers for me.The Bronco's RB situation is crazy...

Hall is hurt & with a limp

Travis Henry claims to be ready for 20 plus carries

Selvin Young has also been practicing.....

I have Hall but I want to drop him for either Henry or Young...they have too great a match up to pass by...

Who do you like Jeff?

Hi Jeff,

I'm in the Omega playoffs and that means my opponent and I can have some of the same players due to the nature of the league. I'm trying to decide if I should automatically play any of the players that my opponent is starting or go with my best lineup.

We both have Jones-Drew and I was planning to bench him this week but my opponent has him starting. I'm thinking this could change but I'm still interested in hearing your thoughts on strategy for this situation.

This is a flex league with PPR for WRs and 1/2PPR for RB. .1pts/10 yds, and bonus for 100 yds.

Start 1 RB and 2 WRs with 2 flex RBs or WRs.

His starters as of now:

Addai

Jones-Drew

Chester Taylor

Boldin

Welker

My choices: Start 5

Gore @ CAR

Jones-Drew @ IND

Mason vs NE

Ward vs CIN

Boldin vs CLE

Welker @ BAL

I'm definitely starting Boldin and Welker and I guess Gore. Should I go with Jones-Drew to cancel any edge? If so, who do I bench, Mason or Ward?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Jeff, looking for lineup advice this time. no ppr. Big Ben vs Cincy or Schaub vs Ten minus Haynesworth. Used Schaub last week thankfully. We start 2rb, 2wr and 2 flex rb/wr

Rudi, Kev. Jones, Colby Smith, Fred Taylor, Selvin Young(Henry is back I guess)

Reggie Wayne, Boldin, Chad Johnson, Chris Henry

So 2rb and 3wr or 3rb and 2wr

Thanks

dave

I think I like both WRs over MJD. Ward has a great matchup in what could be a very high scoring game. Mason versus MJD is a tough one, but I like the way Mason has been getting a lot of catches lately. MJD has been inconsistent which is something I shy away from in the playoffs. Too much risk. Good luck.

I like Ben only if the weather is good. There are reports that it will be nasty like last week. If so, start Schaub. He is playing well.Wayne and Chad Johnson are easy choices for me. I think I would also go with Boldin against Cleve in what should be a high scoring game. Now, which two RBs. I am not a fan of Rudi this week against Pitt in what should be bad weather. I know Minny has a tough defense against the run, but I might start KJ just because he will catch some balls and have a shot at a TD. I would guess he gets 75ish total yards and .5 TDs. Kolby versus Fred is another tough one. Even though I like the SD defense, I would lean toward Kolby over Fred. The Chiefs will need Smith to make plays. If Henry is suspended today, I would start Selvin and Kolby at RB with the three WRs.
