Jeff,At QB I have Rodgers $13, Bulger $11, and Brohm $3 in a salary cap dynasty. Thinking of dropping Bulger for Favre, who has more value for the next 2 years? Or drop Brohm for Favre if I can get Favre cheap enough, I picked up Brohm thinking that one of the 2 GB QB's should be fantasy gold for a long time and it looks like Rodgers will be that guy.
I would drop Bulger if you can get Favre cheaper.

Ok, week one lost Brady :excited: & Burleson :) on both teams...good news is that I won in both leagues anyway

TEAM 1

QB

Delhomme @CHI

Pennington @ ARI

Cassel @ NYJ

I would take the chance on Cassel. The other two have very tough matchups

RB (2)

M Turner @TB

R Bush @ WASH

L Johnson v OAK

Chris Johnson @ CIN

Bush and Chris Johnson. If you get a flex, Turner is very good option.

WR (3)

TO v PHI

Jennings @ DET

Cotchery v NE

E Royal v SD

I would sit Royal until you see what he does with marshall back. Also, SD is tough on WRs.

DEF

Dallas v PHI ( Is Dallas going to be better this week or do I drop the Jets now and check the WW for the weeK?)

Jets v NE

I would look to drop Jets for a great matchup. Both defenses play great offense. Find a sof matchup.

KICKER ? (Please forgive me)

Phil Dawson do I stay with him or grab up Gould / Kasay / Lindel or Prater? Drop Dawson for Gould

TEAM 2

QB

Warner @ MIA

Anderson v PITT

Warner

RB (1) *** Also need 1 Flex in the RB/WR slot (Leaning towards a RB)

LT v OAK

Barber v PHI

R Bush @ WASH

T Jones v NE

I would start LT, MB3, and Bush ... what a good group of RBs you have.

I can drop Heath Miller, Keep Fasano and grab another RB---or drop Miller for another QB like Kitna?

Available are:

Kevin Smith v GB

Chris Perry @ TENN

Slaton v BAL

J Stewart v CHI

Ray Rice v HOU

drop Miller for Stewart. He could be huge later on.

WR (3)

R Wayne @ MIN

DeSean Jackson@DAL

Ocho Cinco v TEN (Is he going to bounce back or do i start scanning the WW?)

S Holmes @ CLE

Crayton v PHI

wayne is easy choice. I think you have to start Holmes, too. The last one comes down to Crayton vs Chad. With such a good team, I might risk it and go with Chad for one more week.

TE (1)

Fasano @ ARI

H Miller @ CLE

Fasano

DEF (1)

Ravens @ HOU

Minny v INDY

Balt

Thanks again for you time Jeff and for checking out both of my teams. As always I look forward to your thoughts and advice!

Yeah, sorry for the brain lapse. I would start Calvin. The Lions should be down big again and get good garbage numbers.

Hey Jeff

Who do you like better this week :

Walters vs Baltmore or

Patten at Washington (now that Colston is out 2-4 weeks)

Thanks

Heya Jeff just wondering what you think about Romo this week. Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is 0-2 as a starter in his career against the Philadelphia Eagles at home. He has only thrown one touchdown in those two games while throwing five interceptions and getting sacked seven times. That's yahoo's info about him. my other option is Ryan vs TB. Romo is definitely a stud, so I think I have to start him, just wondering if you had an opinion about it.

2: In the pre-season, I tried to trade for Chris Johnson and his owner asked for DeAngelo Williams+My First in 2009(very likely 1.07-1.10 range). I turned this down and made plans to try again later, but it looks like Chris Johnson is going to be the man in Tennessee and I am mulling over a play for him before it is too late. What is the most you'd pay for Johnson? That is a lot. If you are going for it, which I would never argue with, I would start by asking for a DWill/1st for CJ/2nd deal and see if he bites. If not, do the deal if you like Johnson. He sure looked the part this weekend.
I made a preliminary offer of DeAngelo Williams+LenDale White+3rd Round Pick(2009) with the intent to bump that up to Williams/White/2nd Round or Williams/1st Round, but my offer was flatly refused and the Johnson owner sounds unlikely to deal him for anything in my price range. I wish I had drafted Johnson (I took Ronnie Brown in Rd 8 of inaugural 8-keeper draft and Johnson was stolen in round 9) or traded for him before the season, but I'm not sure my decisions were bad at the time. His week one role surprised me--I expected him to start off slow while LenDale White slowly lost carries over the season.

Thanks for the advice.

I give SJax and I get Reggie Wayne OR Steve Smith?

You probably have to start Romo, even though Philly upgraded their DBs. Signing Samuel will help the Eagles DBs. I think Eagles will contain Romo, but he will still get yards and outproduce Ryan easily

this is a tough one. Even Larry Johnson could have a huge game. Bush is the only one I think is for certain. For the last spot, it would be Johnson or Johnson. The more I think about it, LJ should have a big game. This might be his last chance to shine.

It is a partial keeper league (2-5 players with $5 added onto this years salary) It is a ppr league .5 per reception. 6 points for TD's.

Since you can keep indefinitely, I would keep SJax. He is still only 25. If you make this trade, I would want Wayne way more than Smith.

Hey Jeff,

4 keeper, no ppr, std performance, 12 team.

My roster:

Schaub/Young

ADP/Gore/CJ3/KevSmith/Chester

Boldin/SSmith/Bowe/Cotchery

ZMiller/Boss

Graham/Scobee

Everyone has $50 blind bid bucks. It is very difficult to predict how much the other owners will bid. The Brady owner will certainly make a bid. How much should I bid for Cassel?

Warner/T.Edwards/K.Collins are on the waiver, currently I have the following bids:

Cassel $18

Warner $7

T.Edwards $4

Thanks for any help u can give.

Hi Jeff! Thanks for the suggestions last week, eked out a 3 point victory!

Couple of questions for a couple of teams:

Team 1:

Jacobs (@STL) or Graham (vs. ATL) as my RB2?

Both are good matchups, and Gruden promised to give Graham more carries.

and Driver (@DET), AGonzalez (@MIN), or Eddie Royal (vs. SD) for WR2?

All three are going against some suspect pass Ds. Which do you think has more upside?

Team 2:

pick 2: Graham (vs. ATL), McFadden (@KC), Felix Jones (vs. PHI), DeAngelo Williams (vs. CHI).

Graham is a no-brainer, but the other three are all in committees and except for McFadden, going against some pretty stout Ds.

Thanks in advance!

I like the Cassel and Warner bids look right, but I would prefer Collins for 1$ than Edwards. You have a very good team so you should not have to sweat this waiver bid too much.

I would ride Jacobs for now. For the WR, Driver vs Royal is a tough one. I think I would go with Driver. This is one that could go either way.In the 2nd team, Graham is a no brainer. He should play well against teh Falcons. Even Kevin Smith had a good game vs Atlanta in week one.

Sorry to be a bother again, but it's a pick 2 for the second team. I'm high on Graham but stuck on who the RB2 should be. My RBs were pathetic in this league because autodraft decided to go WR-WR-QB on me.

you are no bother, sorry I missed it. I think you go with McFadden if healthy. If not, go with Williams.

Hey Jeff,

QB-1: Donovan McNabb, Jay Cutler

RB-2: Adrian Peterson, Brandon Jacobs, Michael Turner, Felix Jones, Chris Johnson

WR-2: Braylon Edwards, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson

TE-1: LJ Smith, Anthany Fasano

K: John Kasay

DE: Tampa Bay

Rush/Rec td = 6 points

.5 points per reception

Rush/Rec yard = 1 point per 10 yards

That's my team.

The -1, -2 next to the position means how many of each position we start.

I'm sitting tight at the top of my division.

Redraft league.

I was given 2 offers instantly after posting in the league that I need a WR.

I'm kind of scared that Edwards might not work out to be as I expected.

Offer 1:

Give Braylon Edwards

Get Edgerrin James + Lee Evans

Offer 2:

Give Calvin Jones + Brandon Jacobs

Get: Reggie Wayne + Ernest Graham (or CHris Perry)

So if I do BOTH trades, my roster would look like:

QB-1: Donovan McNabb, Jay Cutler

RB-2: Adrian Peterson, Edgerrin James, Michael Turner, Felix Jones, Chris Johnson, Earnest Graham (or Chris Perry)

WR-2: Reggie Wayne, Brandon Marshall, Lee Evans

TE-1: LJ Smith, Anthany Fasano

K: John Kasay

DE: Tampa Bay

Of course I'ld have to drop 1..most likely Perry or 1 of the TE

Plus I can ask for like $5 bucks that we use for free agency

To be honest, you have a great team and neither trade helps you. You have three good WRs and should not need another unless you have an injury. I do not like either deal at all.

Hey Jeff, thinking I need a trade for a QB here,

12 team H2H auction Keeper.

Scoring:

1 pt/25 yds passing

6 pts/rushing td

6 pts/catching td

1 pt/10 yrd receiving

1 pt/10 yds rushing

Basic scoring for DEF and K

Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 4 WR(TE's also WR), 1 K, 1 DEF

This is only my second ff draft and my first auction. The draft didn't go as planned, my first pick was Moss and the draft was delayed and I picked him by accident, still got descent value though.

QB- Garrard($7), Young($5)

RB- Lynch($48), Lewis($22), Maurice Morris($4), Deuce McAllister($4), Jason Wright, Marvin Harrison, Sammy Morris, and Brad Jackson(all for $1)

WR- Moss($40), Calvin Johnson($20), Holmes($16), Chris Cooley($11) D. Mason($3), R. Brown($7),Sidney Rice(4)

Cris Henry($1)

K- Crosby($1)

DEF- Buffalo($1)

Rookie Squad: Chris Johnson, Malcolm Kelly, Early Doucet, Josh Johnson

Anyways, I almost think I have to drop Young now and Garrards situation scares me a bit. I have gotten two offers from the same owner, both involving Peyton Manning and Moss.

Here they are:

1) Peyton Manning($38)

Pierre Thomas($1)

for

Randy Moss($40)

2) Todd Heap($5)

Peyton Manning($38)

Michael Turner($20)

for

Chris Cooley($11)

Chris Johnson($10)

Sammy Morris($1)

Randy Moss($40)

I like both of these deals, Kinda leaves me with a hole at WR #1 but I'm hoping Calvin Johnson or Santonio Holmes step it up. I think if I was going to make a deal it might be the first one, not sure though, any thoughts? The only QB's on the wire are Collins, T. Jackson and Huard. Rosenthals is also there I believe, should I grab him and hold for a week or two in case Schaub loses the job? Thanks

The guy has

Peyton(38), Cutler(15), and Delhomme(3). I already mentioned that I am interested in Cutler and Delhomme but he doesn't want to deal them.

WR(WR+TE)- Fitz(32), Marshall(14), Oslen(3), Winslow(21), Walter(1), Wilford(1), D. Jackson(1)

RB- MJD(40), Turner(20), Thomas(1),

Rookie Squad: Forte is the only guy really worth mentioning

I do not like it, only because the RB would not help your lineup much. The one thing is that I expect both Portis and LJ to have hue games this week, but disappoint this season. But, for the season, I do not like the deal.

The draft didn't go as planned, my first pick was Moss and the draft was delayed and I picked him by accident, still got descent value though.QB- Garrard($7), Young($5)RB- Lynch($48), Lewis($22), Maurice Morris($4), Deuce McAllister($4), Jason Wright, Marvin Harrison, Sammy Morris, and Brad Jackson(all for $1)WR- Moss($40), Calvin Johnson($20), Holmes($16), Chris Cooley($11) D. Mason($3), R. Brown($7),Sidney Rice(4)Cris Henry($1)K- Crosby($1)DEF- Buffalo($1)Rookie Squad: Chris Johnson, Malcolm Kelly, Early Doucet, Josh JohnsonAnyways, I almost think I have to drop Young now and Garrards situation scares me a bit. I have gotten two offers from the same owner, both involving Peyton Manning and Moss. Here they are:1) Peyton Manning($38)Pierre Thomas($1)forRandy Moss($40)2) Todd Heap($5)Peyton Manning($38)Michael Turner($20)for Chris Cooley($11)Chris Johnson($10)Sammy Morris($1)Randy Moss($40)I like both of these deals, Kinda leaves me with a hole at WR #1 but I'm hoping Calvin Johnson or Santonio Holmes step it up. I think if I was going to make a deal it might be the first one, not sure though, any thoughts? The only QB's on the wire are Collins, T. Jackson and Huard. Rosenthals is also there I believe, should I grab him and hold for a week or two in case Schaub loses the job? ThanksThe guy has Peyton(38), Cutler(15), and Delhomme(3). I already mentioned that I am interested in Cutler and Delhomme but he doesn't want to deal them.WR(WR+TE)- Fitz(32), Marshall(14), Oslen(3), Winslow(21), Walter(1), Wilford(1), D. Jackson(1)RB- MJD(40), Turner(20), Thomas(1), Rookie Squad: Forte is the only guy really worth mentioning
I think you hold tight and pick up Collins (only if cheap) from the waiver wire. The other waiver qb to think about (and should be $1) is Brian Griese. He might start for Tampa for rest of season. Manning did not look good last week.

Hi Jeff

I am stuck in a bit of a situation here for week 2 at RB. My RB's are:

1. Lynch

2. Grant

3. T. Jones

4. Brandon Jackson

We start 2 RB's. My question is who should I start. I know I probably should start Lynch and Grant. However I keep reading that Grant is banged up and may not play or be limited. His cuff that I have is Jackson who also has a concussion and may not play and I read that they have run their RB3 with 1st team this week.

Therefore should I start:

1. Lynch at Jacksonville and Grant at Detroit

2. Lynch at Jacksonville and T Jones vs NE

3. Lynch at Jacksonville, drop Jackson and pick up Pierre Thomas (NO) who plays at Washington

Any help appreciated

Start Lynch and Grant as long as Grant plays. Detroit allowed that HUGE game to Turner last week.

If Grant does not play would you go with option 2 above or option 3 above? Thanks...

Heya Jeff,

A few questions for the week. 2 RBs Grant Lynch or Johnson. Right now I have it as Grant and Johnson....should I switch out Johnson for Lynch? All this is assuming Grant will play.

WR Kevin Walter or Hank Baskett??

What are your thoughts on Buffalo tearing it up on Jax hurting O line? I'm playing them over Min vs Indy....good move??

Thanks man!

Buffalo defense is a better start than Minn vs Indy. Jax offense is much weaker and I would be afraid of Peyton going off. I like Walter much more than Baskett. I just never know what to expect from Hank. He is inconsistent. On the RBs, I expect Lynch to have 75-100 total yards with a 50% chance of a TD. The question is whether you thinkJohnson will get that. I think there is a good chance. Grant vs Det is a great matchup.

dynasty ppr league, can start up to 3 rb's.

I have turner, lj, and gore as my core group of runners. sold off most of my rookie picks in 09 for chris johnson.

I like all 4 runners matchups this weekend. thinking i may put in cj instead of turner. what do you think?

League 1:Calvin Johnson @ Packers or Dwayne Bowe @ Raiders this is close ..i think i would go with calvin since i think the lions will be down a lot early on

Pick 1 WR or TE, Flex spot:

Bernard Berrian @ Colts

Laveranues Coles @ Patriots

Ronal Curry @ Chiefs

Matt Jones @ Bills

Tony Scheffler @ Chargers

this is tough, too ... coles is still nicked up. Comes down to Berrian, Curry, or Jones. Curry will struggle with a bad offense. I have a tough time getting a pulse on Jones. I think I would roll the dice that Berrian makes a big play or two. Hard for me to trust the Jag passing game.

Hey Jeff, need some help with starters for my banged up team

12 team redraft

Start QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DEF

6 pts all TD's

1 pt/15 yards rushing

1 pt/10 yards receiving

-2 for fumble/interception

My team is seriously hurting after injuries to Colston and Burleson, I thought Ginn would be a nice sleeper but that may not be the case anymore.

QB- Cutler(SD), Schaub(Bal)

WR- Fitz, Muhammad, Walter look to be my starters, I have Ginn also. Ike Hilliard, M. Jenkins, Henderson, Matt Jones, and Antonio Bryant are on the WW.

RB- Westbrook, Graham, Chris Johnson, Norwood, Stewart. Westbrook for sure but torn between Graham and Johnson. I think both have huge games but Johnson has higher ceiling i think

TE- Winslow

K- Crosby

DEF- Buffalo

So, really it's between Graham and CJ at RB 2 and should i pick up anyone on the WW at WR. I definately had the team to beat before the injuries, now I am pretty screwed. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Hey Jeff

A team in my league just dropped Gaffney WR (NE) for Jones WR (JAX). Do you think Gaffney is worth a waiver wire pick-up?? I still have Burleson sitting on my bench that I can dump.

My current WR's are:

1. Bowe

2. Driver

3. Patten

4. Walter

5. McCairens

6. Burleson (INJ)

Thanks....

Honestly, I do not like Gaffney with Brady out .. also Jabar is nicked up, too. There will be better options in a week or two.

I like your WRs fine as long as the Hou/Bal game is not cancelled. If so, and you have to replace Walter, I think I like Devery and his matchup against the Skins. I really do not like any of the options too much, but Devery could hit the big play. On the Rbs, the bright side is you have good depth. Both teams start new QBs so we really do not know what to expect. I think Graham has the better chance of getting a TD while Johnson might have more yards. I think I would go with Johnson since he has the chance of making a huge play and getting you a win just on his own.You still have a good shot at winning it all even though it is frustrating for a few weeks. Hang in there.

Hi Jeff,

Below is one of my dynasty teams. It is a 14 team league, 24 man rosters. We are allowed to roster one college player, which we are allowed to pick as part of our rookie draft. Scoring is 6 pts all TDs, rush/rec = 1/10yd, passing = 1/25 yd, -3 int or FL. Lineup requirements are QB, RB, 2 WR, TE, PK & Def, Flex (RB, WR or TE). The league consists of all FBGs (its competitive).

I've effectively managed this team into the ground. I'm likely heading to a bottom 3 finish this year and don't see a whole lot of upside for 2009. I'm thinking of doing a total rebuild. I've never done one. Do you think I should? If so, what advice would you give (trade timing, salvagable parts, etc)?

Delhomme, Jake CAR QB

Edwards, Trent BUF QB

Garrard, David JAC QB

Alexander, Shaun FA* RB

Charles, Jamaal KCC RB ®

Graham, Earnest TBB RB

Hightower, Tim ARI RB ®

Morris, Maurice SEA RB - Out

Torain, Ryan DEN RB ® - Out

Williams, Carnell TBB RB - Out

Williams, Ricky MIA RB

Breaston, Steve ARI WR

Colston, Marques NOS WR - Out

Driver, Donald GBP WR

Henderson, Devery NOS WR

Jackson, Chad FA* WR

Robinson, Laurent ATL WR

Thomas, Devin WAS WR ®

Walker, Mike JAC WR

Shockey, Jeremy NOS TE

Akers, David PHI PK

Chiefs, Kansas City KCC Def

Cowboys, Dallas DAL Def

College Player - Stafon Johnson

2009 Draft picks 1, 2, 3, 4 all intact.

TIA!

You have some good players. The loss of Colston hurts. What I would advise would be to figure out which players you want to keep long term. I would want to keep these guys: Edwards, Trent BUF QB Garrard, David JAC QB no one will give you much for either so might as well hold. So, that leaves Jake. After a couple more strong games, there should be a few interested teams in acquiring him with the way the injuries have gone this year.Alexander, Shaun FA* RB Charles, Jamaal KCC RB ® Graham, Earnest TBB RB Hightower, Tim ARI RB ® Morris, Maurice SEA RB - Out Torain, Ryan DEN RB ® - Out Williams, Carnell TBB RB - Out Williams, Ricky MIA RB I would keep Charles, Hightower, Torain, and Caddy. All have high ceilings and could be fantasy starters in future.I would look to trade Graham (in a 14 teamer, RBs are in short supply). You should be able to get quite a bit. I would also look to trade MoMO after he comes back healthy and outplays Julius again. The other one I would look to move is Ricky. His age and injury history will not help you long term. I would cut Alexander (if he does not sign in next week or so). Breaston, Steve ARI WR Colston, Marques NOS WR - Out Driver, Donald GBP WR Henderson, Devery NOS WR Jackson, Chad FA* WR Robinson, Laurent ATL WR Thomas, Devin WAS WR ® Walker, Mike JAC WR The only one I might trade of this group is Driver. he is a free agent after this year and could be elsewhere in 09. I think you will be able to get quite a bit for him.Keep Shockey and the Dallas defense. What to look for in return? I would only want 1st round picks and young NFL players. Many times, I know the hard way, a team rebuilds and acquires 2nd round rookie picks that become marginal players. Those 2nd rounders are hard to connect on. If you cannot get 1st rounders, you might look for young players. At the WR position, I like guys like James Jones, Sidney Rice and Deion branch. All are undervalued right now. Also, in trades, I would try to get a young backup QB thrown in like Henne, Brady Quinn, Stanton or Russell. These are much better options than using a 1st on a rookie QB. The way I like to build the team is try to get a few future 1st rounders and take RBs with those picks. Take Qb and WR in 2nd. I want to have very good receivers (through the trades) with the only hole at back. Then, this is addressed through the draft. I hope all of this makes sense. Good luck. Also, if you rebuild, I would not let it be known. You will get BAD offers if so. I would just try to sell players to teams in need. Selling Jake to the team losing Brady will not be recognized as "fire sale". By the time you move Graham and Driver to contenders, it should not be difficult to find a team needing one more good player for a playoff push. You have a good nucleus with Colston and the young backs. You will be fine by next year. This is why I try to avoid having too many picks. It takes too long for THAT many rookies to be startable for fantasy. Also, teams will sell a WR like James Jones much cheaper now than next off season.

So it looks like the BAL-HOU game is being postponed to Nov. 9. I need to quickly pick up a DEF/ST off waivers to replace Baltimore and a TE to replace Owen Daniels.

It looks like these are the best options for D/ST. Which would you go for? (6pt DEF/ST TDs, 2pt FR, 2pt INT, 2pt Safeties, and points for opponent score, starting from 10pt for Shutout, and about 3 points less for every 7 points the opponent scores)

BUF (@JAC): Buffalo was great last week and Jacksonville looked terrible and its O-line is torn up

JAC (vs. BUF): traditionally, I'd expect this to be the better end of the bargain

TB (vs. ATL): assuming Week 1 was a fluke for ATL

ARI (vs. MIA): Arizona had 18 points in our league last week against woeful SF, MIA probably not much better

Also lost Owen Daniels for the game. Free agent pool has:

Rosario (vs. CHI)

Fasano (@ARI)

Royal (@JAC)

Scaife (@CIN)

LJ Smith (@DAL)

among the top scorers of last week. Standard scoring, non-PPR. Who should I pick up?

It's a 12 team league but with only 4 bench spots. I'll probably have to drop a player or two to make these pick ups. I think I can grab Baltimore's D again w/o problem.

For the other drop, should I ditch Garrard (starting Brees) or Daniels?

Thanks!
