E P I L O G U EPochahontus and Saints-Man broke up fall 1983. For those of you that remember, New Orleans hosted the World Fair from May 12 to Nov 11. The cheerleaders attended often together.Sometime during the summer,Doug, my big brother in the fraternity, decided to ask out Pochahontus. They hit it off and loved bloomed. They married in 1987 . As I recall, Doug and Pochahontus had two kids together. They were married until the early 2000's. After a reportedly emotion-filled divroce, Doug moved out of the house, leaving the house for Pochahontus and the kids. He moved in with a friend of his Shawn. Less than two years later, Shawn and Pochahontus married. Since then, Pochahontus has given birth to her third child.Mickey's fate was not kind. After his fling he started dating a shrew named Jesse, a classic Italian looking girl. Attractive, but not beautiful or hot. She was a complete shrew and a constant nag. She oozed low self-esteem, and they fought constantly. Their wedding in 1986 was Saints-Man and his ex-wife's first date. Every day of Saints-Man's marriage, even though it ended in divorce, was better than every day of Mickey's marriage. They have at least two kids together, and time has not been kind to Jesse.Marty and Tonya married in spring 1985. Both Pochahontus and Saints-Man stood in the wedding. Saints-Man met Pochahontus before the wedding just to make sure the air was clear between them solely as to make sure any of their drama did not spill over into Marty & Tonya's wedding. The meeting went great, and they co-existed seamlessly at the wedding and a good time was had by all. I have not seen her since 1996. In 1996, she was aging very well and was still striking, even after two kids. She loved to exercise, if I had to bet I would bet her shape is still pretty good. She would be in the high percentile for 46 year olds. Not Hollywood, but normal lady scale. The breasts might be an issue. After three kids and their original size, they probably have not held up well. From what I knew of her, I doubt she would get fake breasts. But I honestly don't know.

Do you think she would have facebook?

I already thought of that after the post about facebook. I searched on her maiden name and Doug's last name, and found no hits. If she is on there, she has taken her husband's new name.

Not to sound judgmental, but Pocahantas doesn't sound like a great catch, after reading the epilogue.

Like everyone of us, she is flawed. I am certainly happy our relationship did not culminate in marriage. I was happy to have experienced her for a while and I hope she is well and happy. I have no ill will toward her. I know the facts in the epilogue, but not the details.

Many of us had our Pocahontas. Few if any could relate the story so compellingly. Cheers and thanks, SM.

It was true. I had to work that detail into my retelling somehow. In the time after our breakup when I was still brooding, I would tell that story to some close friends to describe her personality to people. Being true, it exemplified her ability to go pass traditional societal norms. I took it as solely a verbal threat. There was no indication that she would actually do it. It was enough to scare someone like Laurie, who was a little on the meek side at the time and didn not care for confrontation.

That is assuming that Ponchahontas told him anything. She never told me what she did with other guys, so maybe she never told him or just played it off. Or, some guys just don't care. Many people have posted on this board that they don't care what a girl has done before they have had her and maybe he feels the same. We hung out a bunch as friends, but I don't know what his feelings on this are.Also, if you believe conventional wisdom, she hit her sexual peak at 32. She turned 32 in 1994 and they were still married, so he may have had the best laugh by far. Of course, she also had two kids at that time and who knows how that affected things.I didn't get the impression when we met at the party that he was bothered by her and I dating. I was really, really bad at college, it appears

BDA, so was I. There is some shame for me upcoming. I stumbled accross this. If you notice, none of this was me. I am not the aggressor here, I metaphorically and a bit literally was just along for the ride.I wasn't particulary suave, and I reiterate I was no player. I had no game. I was friends with a lot of young ladies, but very very few showed any romantic interest in me. My only guess is that my connection with cheerleading, which up the that time had been the Scarlett letter of shame, somehow piqued her interest.

"Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then"....so to speak.For a guy claiming to have no game, you sure come across as a guy who knew how to play when the ball was tipped.

Sounds like you should be coaching the kids of today!

The bolded were not true. I was in a serious relationship with Pochahontas, I was just the #####. She dictated everything.I was solely an escort to those sorority girls. Only once did it ever bubble up into romance, and it was very brief.

There is a lot I could teach the kids of today, but more about respect than game.

However, once I was handed the ball and saw the opening I ran to daylight. Not because I knew what I was doing, I just loved the sunshine on my face.

I appreciate the kind words, HM. As far as the writing part, I am relaying a true experience in my life. I am not making these things up out of thin air. When people do that, they are the great writers. For example, Studs & Duds is a great writer. DW is a great wordsmith. bigbottom's accomplishments are self-evident.I am an above-average to good story teller, depending on the subject at hand. Also, I am a long winded. It happen to catch fire in this case, but who usually reads those long posts? I know I don't. This was a unique occurrence. And if it was not for Red Eyed and Blue setting the stage and giving just the right amount of setup, this thread would have died early as it seemed to last night. It was just a magic 24 hours, when a unique set of abilities combined with just the right setup and nurturing produces a unique outcome. I am glad it played out as long as it did, and I am glad people have enjoyed it. But I have been an active member on this board since 2004, and I was on old yeller before that. Up to now, my greatest claim to i-infamy was becoming a little to emotionally involved in one of fflw's threads. I again thank you for your kind words. I accept it for what it is. One shining moment. Did you notice that an 18/19 year old was living in her own apartment, while a attending a commuter school? That story belongs to her. It is not my story to tell, but let's just say difficulty in her life sprang on her early. Nothing tragic, but difficult nonetheless.That is why I can look back on our time together with no judgement and no anger. She had her challenges, and I had mine. We were two kids trying to find our way. Our paths crossed, and while it burned hot for a while, there was collateral damage. It makes for an entertaining yarn, a little life wisdom, and nothing more. And a valuable lesson: Cheerleading is serious business!

I walk away from this with the same feeling as if I watched one of the few great movies that gave me an ever lasting impression. Even though it was not a true feel good ending it did what all good stories do, made us feel part of the story.

It is rare on an internet message board for someone to come across so real and genuine without all the false sense of courage and BS conquests.

You should really inquire on turning this story and your writing skills into a novel or movie.

I have no empathy for him, nor any anger or malice. He knew we had dated. He knew of her dalliance with Mickey that was such a source of conflict in our relationship.I would have empathy for him if he didn't know but it sprung up on him later. However, he somewhat violated a bro code, don't date your friend's exes. He knew us when we first got together. He knew us when we broke up. He willfullingly walked into that with eyes wide open. Think of a close buddy in college. Now imagine him dating a girl you dated a while. Would you feel sorry for him?

No can do. Not my story to tell. I only know bits of it anyway, and I would be projecting my thougths and emotions on her life and her state of mind that I have no real knowledge. This story was so good that we all completely glossed over the fact that Pocahontas threatened to break another chick's legs. And I totally concur with the other post that SM truly got the best of what Pocahontas had to offer. She sounds like a completely bat#### crazy chick.

I left out some details about her life. There were things that happened to her in her life that she was forced to grow up fast. Did you notice that an 18/19 year old was living in her own apartment, while a attending a commuter school? That story belongs to her. It is not my story to tell, but let's just say difficulty in her life sprang on her early. Nothing tragic, but difficult nonetheless.That is why I can look back on our time together with no judgement and no anger. She had her challenges, and I had mine. We were two kids trying to find our way. Our paths crossed, and while it burned hot for a while, there was collateral damage. It makes for an entertaining yarn, a little life wisdom, and nothing more. And a valuable lesson: Cheerleading is serious business!

The story continues. Please don't let this die.

No can do. Not my story to tell. I only know bits of it anyway, and I would be projecting my thougths and emotions on her life and her state of mind that I have no real knowledge. That would be unfair to her.Here, I have relayed this story as it happened to me. I relayed the events as I experienced them. I never attempted to discern her character or her thought process.
