Was anyone here ever a male cheerleader? (1 Viewer)

Beautifully told.

Many of us have a bittersweet youthful indulgence in our history, and to us the truth here is obvious. I pity the doubters only because it means they never had such moments. In the end there is not a bed that cannot give a young man lessons. The question is are the lesssons learn and was the experience savored? Did growth result?
I can only speak for myself but I didn't think too much about my similar experiences at the time they occurred(by similar, i don't mean having a 2 year long sexual escapade with a college cheerleader. mine were much briefer and less interesting) Although you thoroughly enjoy yourself, when you're younger, you just expect these things. It's the norm. Unfortunately, you don't fully understand their significance until much later. Honestly, I think that's one of the things that make it so much fun though. You're living it up without a care in the world. Just enjoying the ride.

She had her challenges, and I had mine. We were two kids trying to find our way. Our paths crossed, and while it burned hot for a while, there was collateral damage.

:goodposting: EXACTLY what was going through my mind too.

Yes, I was a male cheerleader in high school. Senior year only, and only after I decided to quit the football team. Also, I dated a cheerleader in college and substituted on a handful of occasions and assisted them in judging local cheerleading contests.
To think, it started out like this. No idea what was to come.
Even good, enjoyable things come from humble beginnings.
A man of great wisdom. Would telling about the additional year after the Mickey part ruin the story? There's still that year
An additional tale of Mickey might be possible. But I would have to piece together anecdoctal evidence. I am not sure how well it would work.

Great Story!!

in your epilogue you wrote that "after a reportedly emotion-filled divroce, Doug moved out of the house, leaving the house for Pochahontus and the kids. He moved in with a friend of his Shawn. Less than two years later, Shawn and Pochahontus married. Since then, Pochahontus has given birth to her third child."

I found that particular dynamic interesting.......any idea how Doug handled "P" hooking up with his buddy Shawn??

No. I only heard this little tid-bit from Marty & Tonya as I recall. And it was just mentioned in passing. I saw them for the first time in over 10 years at my dad's funeral and in the whirlwind of conversation, this tidbit of info emerged.

First of all SM, epic thread and story. Thanks.

I just finished page 6. Did you ever confront Mickey?

SM- after this contribution we will all pull for your FF Saints team to win the super bowl next year!
How about pulling for the Saints after your favorite team? We need all the good charma we can get.
I'm in Detroit, Ex Lions fan :bag: Millen finally broke me, I go all the way back to the Tom Dempsey FG vs your Saints.

Just read the entire 9 pages. Wow. Excellent work here from Saints-Man. :goodposting:

The story actually ended a lot better than I expected. With all the background details on several different guys, I thought we were being set up for hero to walk in on Pocahontas getting double or triple teamed.

Yes, I did. It was several weeks later. It was difficult on several levels: we were roommates in the fraternity house, we were in the middle of football season and I was the coach, and there was much overlap in our social circles. No punches were thrown, but my disgust for his behavior was clearly communicated. We were not much more than passing acquaintances after that. While he was wrong, I put solely the blame for the shenanigans on Pochahontus. I wasn't dating Mickey, and I was dating her.

He should have been kicked out of the fraternity. Didn't your house have rules against this type of thing?

I remember that very vividly. I was a Saints fan from just a few years prior to that.

Nope. We were a small fraternity(we compared to larger universities) at a small universities. And remember, as from the outside, the risque thing to do was kiss. For the vast majority of outsiders, that is all they thought was going on here. It was a more sexually conservative time.

There were situations where Frat Boy A dated girl C, they break up, and then Frat Boy B dates girl C. These situations were not uncommon.

I felt no desire to attempt to ruin or get revenge at Mickey for doing what he did. So, except for our room mate Marty, I told no one. I doubt if more than a handful of people knew, and most of them were associated with the cheerleaders.

Watching some college hoops here and I cant help but wonder which cheerleader here is playing the part of P and which one is SM.

No, I don't. This is a story that occasioally peaks my interest. But only one who knows that I speak with any type of regularity(maybe once a year) is Tonya, and I have a lot of respect for her that I would not want to put her in the middle. She might feel uncomfortable telling Pochahontus's business. It is so long ago, the questions would be out of place.I can see me participating in an e-bay auction for the details of the story. I am unsure of my max bid.

A random observation that Pocahontas' guy-like personality qualities were probably great for a college gf, but I don't think those qualities would be so great to have in a wife.

This matches my impression also. However, to be fair, I have not known her for a while and since we are all capable of growth and maturity, I really don't know. I do remember at the party in 1996 getting the impression that I thought she was a good responsible mother. That impression in itself surprised me.

That's a helluva story... I've known Saints Man for years - I wouldn't say he has no game, it's just not a good game. He's very outgoing and talkative with women, just in a friendly sort of way. He'd make a great wing man and could get you in a good dialog with hot wimmenz, he just doesn't get any coffee (it's for closers, right?).

Interestingly enough, my daughter has a volleyball tournament at UNO tomorrow... I'll have to take a walk around the campus and think of Saints Man!

 Thanks, bf. Blenderfrog and I worked together and played volleyball together for several years, and I think this description is quite accurate.

Bf, if the tournament is at the gym as opposed to the UNO arena, you will be walking up the very steps where the end of my story takes place. Notice how small that parking lot is. ;)

 I should have been a male cheerleader.

My debate/forensics team stories just don't have the drama and zip to match up to Saint's.

Great story and one of those threads that will be a point of reference for a time to come on this board.

I'll pile on here and say thank you and bravo.

Has there been an FFA Poet Laureate? If there hasn't been, I'll nominate Saints-Man.

I'm thinking of making a trip down there just to see the place and reminisce. eta: the story continues, now with outsider knowledge...

flapgreen, if we can coordinate our schedules, I will give you full tour with all the major and minor landmarks, and we can finish up the tour with dinner at Dante's.

What did the forensics team do?

Adding to the soundtrack in this thread:

Saints-Man, did you ever tell your story to Dave Grohl, 'cuz I swear I've heard it before...

here (love the chick reactions in this one)

and especially here.

Again, bravo. I'll be looking for the film version this summer :goodposting:

Yeah, it was at the Performing Arts Center or whatever the old gym is named now. The parking lot is pretty small. I didn't see Pocahontas, but my daughter played against Ray Nagin's  daughter's team (she's pretty chunky --- meaning little Nagin, not little Blenderfrog). Nagin's driver parked in a handicapped spot for a little over 5 minutes waiting for them to exit the gym.

I missed two updates and the epilogue and just got caught up this snowy Monday morning.

Great story, S-M. Unfortunately, you will have to deal with the fact that you are a good writer. There are worse things in life.

I'm hoping that I wasn't the only inspired guy on Friday night... :lmao:

Just finished the Friday night updates with the last two posts and the epilogue. Great Stuff Saints-Man. I'm giving it 5 our of 5 stars and you got a standing ovation from me in my office (my co-workers probably think I've lost it).

GB you sir. Was a great story and brought me back to thoughts of my youth and the dumb choices that were made in moments of weakness. Sometimes I wish we got a do-over. :goodposting:

From the pic you posted, it looks like you've done pretty good. :bowtie: That really her in the avatar?

No the pic in my avatar is some binkygirl picture. I did great with finding my 2nd wife, the do over would have been the first wife and a few other things I did/shouldn't have done.

Agree with others that this is probably the best thread in the history of the FFA, all due to Saints Man. The only thing I don't get is why you were beating yourself up over your "weakness". Let me think. Hot athletic chick with great hindquarters and an insatiable appetite who knows special tricks is BEGGING you to come over and F### her. Any way you want, with uniform on. I'd like to see how many single guys could turn that down. You weren't weak, SM. You were a Man. And to us, a Saint.

Well done sir.

I wanted to thank everyone for all the positive messages I received about this thread, both here, in PM and other communications.

I would like to offer a few comments.

1) In the time after we got back together after D-Day, the relationship was much like anyone else' going thru a breakup. You drift more and more and there was little sexy time until it was time to quit. It just fizzled just like anyone else's relationship fizzles. There was some poster here whose girlfriend cheated with him with a bartender. I was solely describing the end of my relationship in an effort to show him what the end will probably look like for him(even though every relationship was different). I was writing quickly to get to end story, and I didn't mean to imply we had much sexy time in the year after D-Day.

2) As far as the comments posted in the story, most were for comedic, story-telling effect, nothing more. Many of the posters on FBG post about their bravado handling new and unique situations, handling them almost like a hero in a movie script, sometimes in ways that exhibit a maturity far beyond their age level. I didn't think that was an appropriate tone for what happened to me. I view myself as a typical 20-year old and the mistakes of a normal 20-year old. I don't think anythign less of myself but I learned some valuable lessons.

And as far as

good story SM, throughout the whole story I pictured this as Pocahontas, she was in Bring it On:

GU
No woman was that hot in the time frame of my story.

I know I am way late to the party on this one, but that was an outstanding story!

What would you do if Pocahantus called you up out of the blue tomorrow, said she had dumped Shawn several months ago and wanted you to hit it?

Also, that's absolutely horrible about the toll that Katrina has taken on your life. To be honest, I do not have any connections to anyone down in New Orleans so all of the stories I heard were pretty much from CNN or NBC Nightly News. I can't imagine the emotional devastation involved when you personally lose so much in such a brief amount of time. Your attitude is incredible, given that tragedy. Keep the faith.

Thank you for your sentiments. Yes, many threads have been written about the devastation that the people in the New Orleans region and the Mississippi Gulf Coast have endured. I am but one of many.If she we would call me now and propose such an arrangement, I would say no. While I would bet that she is still quite striking given her age, that is not a path I would choose again. I would talk to her, and I am sure we would have much to reminisce and there would be much laughter.
