ah... ok. thanks. I think part of the problem was that we watched this episode on the ipod- hard to see and hear everything that was going on.
I understood the group 1 vs group 2 thing in the town, but I didn't know/couldn't tell what CJ did at the end there- looked like he was considering hitting the cancel (= kill everybody) switch, but I didn't see what he ended up doing.
- He considered shutting it down, killing all I guess. Probably out of being a bit kooky about being all along again like the first go around.
also felt like they let gf/mom walk out without giving us any idea what happened to her... wife thinks she may have heard her scream? I didn't. and if the abbys ate gf/mom, we have to assume (unless they had developed immunity) that this was mass genocide. weird that the Dr would go through all that talk about humanity and doing what's right and then go ahead and wipe out what is the current version of humanity en mass.
- She got hold of the doc's tape, which explained his rational, such as it was. He didn't feel what he was doing was right. But he decided to do what was best for the remainder of humanity. Once she knew the plan, and knowing she killed her son, she dosed instead. Then walked out to be eaten to spread the virus. He even gave her morphine to lessen the pain.
abbys didn't seem to be doing anything in regards to attacking... just gathering and then running around in the woods. what they showed on screen didn't seem to jibe with what the heat-mapped security screens in the show did... if they were massed right at the wall, where were the dudes running? why not just storm the gate/wall?
- Yea, we wondered the same thing.
and then the abbys with baby at the end... I assume far into the future, after the disease-genocide... what was the point of that? life goes on? the grand genocidal plan backfired and there were still abbys around for the WP people to contend with if/when they wake up (depending on what CJ did with the cancel button)?
- I didn't think it was the future. I felt it was just showing that with the people frozen again, things were back to pre-Pilcher. Looked very much like the scenes they were showing when they fired from the helicopter. I just thought they were saying, Abbis aren't bad. And with the evil humans gone, they went back to being their peaceful selves.
maybe this was all clearer on a big screen with better sound... but I finished watching and for me it was nothing but questions, not answers or any kind of resolution... whether it's the season or the series ending.
