WCOFF leagues (1 Viewer)

Can someone here speak about the blind bidding process of the WCOFF leagues? We have $1000 in "spending money" to work with. . . . what is the strategy here? For example, if I REALLY want someone that I am sure someone else will want to (the backup to an injured running back), would I need to bid $995? Will Five or ten bucks be enough to pick up a kicker or backup QB? Thoughts?

There is generally a little difference in leagues, but likely you won't have a handle on that for week 1

There have been very few of the $900+ bids (Boldin), but much of that is determined by whether the player is likely to play for the rest of the year.

Last year for the few leagues that didn't draft Colston, he probably went for 300-500.

Cotchery went between 300-400

IF Jacobs was out for the year, Ward might have been a $900 play, BUT Jacobs is out 3-5

However with Eli also probably out for a while, I think Ward is not as valuable, so I think he is back in the $300+ range

Only way to guarantee anything would be a $1000 bid. Typically $1 will be enough to get a backup kicker while your primary kicker is on a bye (assuming you'll just pick anyone up)

There is no one out there that is worth more than a quarter of your stack. Even ward should be in the 225 range. Someone will bid more than that, however, but they are idiots if they do.

Kicker / TE / Backup QB < 10 bucks

WR who looks to be the goods that was not drafted (not many of them, but they exist), 150 tops

(let's assume curry wasn't drafted, he'd go in the 3-350 range)

A RB who is a sure starter for > 1/2 the season 500 - 700

I think you can expect McDonald to go for about $150-250 for the most part. Some leagues will get him for under $50 while other will see bids in the $400+ range.

On the WCOFF board, Shaun Mc went for over $800 in one league. Ward went for $980 in one

GB drafting Engram and Stokley
