Attention Ryan Mathews owners this is the week! Get him in your line up! We have all been prepairing for him to blow up and I am calling it! He is healthy, his coach is a believer, and the passing game is limited. I am predicting 2 TDs 5 catches, 20 rushes, 40 yards recieving and 140 yards rushing.

I agree 100%... maybe not quite with the stat line... but everything else makes perfect sense. The problem I am having is that Coach Belechek is looking at exactly the same thing. Hate him or love him, the dude specializes in blowing up the comfort zones of opposing offenses... and I would think that San Diego is hoping to lean on their young rookie a lot this week.I think he'll get the touches for sure and maybe even score this week... the yardage totals might be tough sledding though. I don't know... call it that paranoid voice in the back of my head.Having said all that, GOD I HOPE I'M WRONG! I'm ready for Matthews to break out.

never bought in to Mathews ADP all preseaon, often going RB8-12. Week 7 and Mathews owners still waiting for that breakout game. When Mathews owners finally give up, then that's when Mathews blows up. It never fails.

Methinks the sneaky play this week just might be Sproles ... especially if Gates is out. True, he has been extremely underwhelming (to say the least) this season, but it may be time to dust him off, and ask him to come up big this week.

As far as Matthews, the Rams ripped the flow of the game right out of SD's grasp last week ... was encouraging to see the disparity in touches between him and Tolbert, but, even with the goal line fumble the previous week, there was Tolbert punching it in.

It does appear Matthews was planned to be worked in more last week, which is the best we can hope for as Matthews owners.

Not against NE. Their secondary can be thrown on, seemingly at will, but they are no slouches against the run.

I think this is wishful thinking at its finest. With SD's passing attack a little dinged, the Pats will most likely sell out on stopping the run and take their chances with Rivers. Not to mention SD will have to throw the ball to stay in the game.

Billy boy will not let Mathews beat him. The passing game is in a world of hurt right now and BB knows it. I own Ryan and would love to think that he will own this week but I just do not see it. BB will stop the run and force Rivers to hit whoever is available.

Great minds think alike ^.

Isn't that what Rivers does every week as good as just about any QB in the league?

If I'm "Billy boy", I concentrate my efforts on limiting the guy who is proven in the league (Rivers).... He's too good of a QB to disregard because his receiving corps is injured. Mathews hasn't done squat, so why would he draw all the defensive attention?

pats d has allowed an average of 109.6 rushing yards per game this season. that's pretty much smack in the middle of the pack. their run d is nothing special.

Decent yardage against, but they have only given up one rushing touchdown YTD, and only gave up six last year (good for second in the league). Those in TD heavy leagues take note.

Sorry, but I won't start Mathews until the Chargers make good on their preseason talk to make him the featured guy and until he actually has that illusive breakout performance. Talk is cheap. Let's see it happen first, then I will seriously consider putting him in the lineup. In the meantime, I will take a sure 10 points plus upside from Ahmad Bradshaw.

Exactly. Calling their run D nothing special is inaccurate.

Your description of NE run defense is also inaccurate.

Matthews is worthless right now...Tolbert vultures TDs..Sproles is in on passing downs. Why did they draft him??

I blame myself... I'm the one who made the pick; took a early Rd flier on an unproven rookie (I'm usually conservative the first 3 Rds). I tried to hit a homerun & wound up hitting a pop-up foul.....that was caught. It's not the only reason I'm having a terrible season, but it's a contributor.

He's killing me. I walked out of my draft with Matthews and DeAngelo Williams as my 2nd and 3rd round picks thinking I was "incredibly stacked" at RB going along with Gore. Because I went RB-RB-RB I was "stuck" with an "incredibly weak" WR corps of Hakeem Nicks, Terrell Owens, and Jeremy Maclin who have been carrying me.

I did the same thing this year.. Went RB-RB-RB with ADP, Matthews, and Thomas.. Thank God I have Brown and Addai is out and ADP had his bye..
