This was true when i played but it doesnt apply if it is still raining.
Man this looks to add a lot of value to Mr. Rudi Johnson :banned:
You know he's playing against Baltimore, right?
:goodposting:
I dont have the stats handy, but Rudi has done pretty well consistently against Baltimore.I traded for Rudi earlier in the year and that was specifically one of the stats I looked at.
Rudy Stats as a starter vs. Baltimore:Player Date Team Att Yds Avg TD Rec Yds Avg TD

R. Johnson Nov 27 05 CIN(h) 27 114 4.22 2 1 5 5.00 0

R. Johnson Nov 6 05 CIN(a) 29 97 3.34 1 1 15 15.00 0

R. Johnson Dec 5 04 CIN(a) 19 56 2.95 0 1 3 3.00 0

R. Johnson Sep 26 04 CIN(h) 23 98 4.26 0 - - - -
he looks much better at home then away when he plays balt...im sitting him for mcallister...
To add another factor, what does the potential return of Braham to the OL do for Rudi?Braham hoping to return tonight

a) Braham rusty - no difference

b) Braham rusty - Ghiaciuc playing better - overall

c) Braham is the key - overall

RotoWorld's take:

The Bengals-Ravens game will be played in mild and possibly rainy weather on Thursday night.

Rain showers are possible at anytime, but they will be more likely and heavier later in the game. Wind could also be a minor factor towards the second half. Still the weather shouldn't be severe enough to make any fantasy adjustments.

Weather will be 1 last factor I have consider between Dirver and Housh! Any locals have report?
I have Brady and still starting Palmer he has been awesome. I also have HOuse. I don't think Rain effect the offensive player as much as D. The offense knows where they are going, the D doesn't. If it is windy that effects the O, but rain does not really effect anyone on O in my opinion.

i have vick & palmer and before the weather i had vick and now with the weather i really have vick- but then that makes me think palmer goes off cause this is the whacky acky NFL.

From a defensive standpoint, I'm thinking that Baltimore D might be a better play over some other options.

I was thinking this was going to be a fairly high scoring game (i.e., both teams notching over 20 points), and while BAL D is lighting the world on fire these days, a lot of D scoring comes down to points scored. I was looking at possible alternates this week, such as PIT, who though are decimated and playing fairly poorly, are up against TB, who won't score less than 20, in my estimation.

With it being rainy for the BAL/CIN game, thus making it harder to throw, catch and make good cuts on soppy turf, I'm thinking the overall score will come down a little. That might make the difference for me in terms of slotting in a surging BAL D vs a slumping PIT D who has a better matchup.

That can also mean more broken plays that turn in to big plays.

You guys are micro-managing way too much...Never bench your studs...
The question is, who do you consider a stud on these teams? Palmer? Definitely coming on strong, but was not a stud early in the season. Ocho Stinko? Two huge games and a big game have really propelled him. He was a bust of the year candidate before that. Rudi Johnson? Consistent, but not the stud many thought he would be. Plus, I think the Bengals will beat the Ravens through the air, not on the ground. Ravens Players? Not sure I consider any of them studs, other than maybe Heap.

I had benched Baltimore for the Patriots and was comfortable with decision; haven't benched them all year. Now, with the weather, am conflicted.

I'd consider the following players strong starting options at the present time:Baltimore

Lewis

Heap

Clayton

Cincinnati

Palmer

Rudi

Johnson

TJ

Henry

If the weather was ideal, I'd move McNair into that group as well. I think you'd have to have some really good options to consider sitting Palmer, Rudi, Lewis, Johnson or TJ. Clayton is playing well and he's very viable right now. And given how Henry has never had a bad game against the Ravens (TDs in the first two games and 79 yards in the game this year) he's no worse than a very good WR3. So he's someone who's very difficult to sit this week in my opinion in a lot of leagues.

My bro is down at the stadium at Hooters about 1 mile away. He says its not raining at all and most are speculating that the rain will not hit until near games end.

Your brother is at the Hooters and he is talking about the weather? I dont think the weather would crack the top 10 subjects I'd be contemplating.

I was listening to the NFL network in the background and thought I heard them talking about how windy it was right now  I thought Hooters guy said it was OK out?

Damn this game!!!! Okay so TJ in the bad weather or D. Jackson vs. Champ? Is Stover worth starting in this or should I just go with Scobee. Kickers are so unpredictable but I could see Baltimore putting up some points in this one.

Trying to decided whether to bench for mare or not myself

I dont care what the scenario is... you cannot bench Todd Heap.

He may be questionable. It may be raining. It may turn into a run game.

But when you have a TE who is top 5 fantasy in everything at his position (yards, catches, tds, total points) and the game situation may not benefit the "fast" players as much as the "steady" ones... and you couple that with the Cincinnati Bengals are giving up more fantasy points to opposing TEs then anyother team in the league... you have to roll your bones and take your chances on him. As long as he suits up you cannot worry about the possible low score that any player can be subjected to. You have to take your shot at the big payday.

Stover has put up some HUGE games againt Cincinnati in the past few years. The weather complicates things, but the guy has only missed one FG this year and his team seems to give him plenty of chances vs Cinci. I'm starting him over Rackers.

am I the only one that thinks Mason is a good play tonight? he seems to always show up big in Prime Time and should be a solid target for McNair if there's any weather issues.

I'm not so sure about Mason, but I definitely think Clayton/Heap are good targets tonight.

Weather.com is currently reporting that there is light rain with 16 mph winds gusting to 32 mph. And here's the forecast for tonight:

Increasing winds with strong thunderstorms likely. Storms could contain damaging winds. Low around 50F. Winds S at 20 to 30 mph. Rainfall may reach one inch.

Gusts up to 32 Miles per Hour, Rain, Thunderstorms.

Im gonna bench stover in the next 10 mins.

Unless, do you think the offenses will stall short due to weather and we see a few more fieldgoals?

It seems that it will likelybe raining, but the damaging gusts of up to 30 mph won't be hitting the area until overnight/tomorrow morning.Of course, weather has a way of being unpredictable. But this seems likely to be a wet game; not a slopfest in gale force winds.

Sitting on the edge myself with Palmer and deciding w/Hasslebeck, weather does not look so bad in HD if that matters at all. Have TJ as well, damn, I hate Thursday night football. My boys crap the bed and I am a miserable pr... on Friday. :wall:

Which one of these players you going to bench because of rain drops...C.PalmerJ.lewisC.JohnsonTJ Houshmandzadehhmmmmm??? :lmao:
Sure, what person with a brain is going to bench Chad Johnson for Antonio Bryant or Lee Evans? Clearly you don't do that, regardless of matchup. Personally I am choosing between Chad Johnson vs Baltimore in potentially bad weather or Anquan Boldin vs St. Louis. Tell me that one is easy. I've been going back and forth all day. I try to set my own lineup without relying on cheatsheets too much, but this week David has Johnson at #5 and Boldin at #6.uugghh :banned: I feel like no matter what I do it's gonna be wrong. I've locked up playoffs but need a win for the first round bye.

What are the conditions expected to be like for the kicking game?

I've got an hour to pick up a replacement for Shayne Graham, so is the rain expected to be so heavy that it affects the kickers?

I'm starting CJ, Heap and Stover, the only one I'm worried about is Stover, but kickers are a coin flip. I have Josh Brown and he kicked 4 in the snow last game and also hasen't kicked a FG on the road in the last 2 road games.

I've got Palmer against Baltimore or Vince Young agains Indy..... How's Palmer in wet weather? I know you shouldn't bench your stud (and i'm a firm believer in that philosopy), but i'm seriously thinking about it.

I'd definitely go with Palmer there.

This is starting to sounds like a WDIS thread, but what the hell I'll throw out what I am wrestling with too:

Palmer vs. Baltimore

Pennington @ Green Bay

or

Lineart @ St. Louis

I'm just having a hard time benching Palmer. I have a feeling that it will bite me in the ### if I do.

I strongly disagreed with posty when he emailed the A.D. about the whole Ashley/Allison ballot stuffing thing, but he's right this time. This thread is pretty useless.

Damn, that last camera shot looked nasty. Heavy down-pour. Maybe all teams should have a dome. :lmao: :lmao:

Kidding of course, it makes for interesting football, but for FF it just sucks.

Watching NFL Network right now, and it looks to be a miserable, rainy night in Cinci.

TJ is currently in my lineup along with S.Smith. Mason and Caldwell are on my bench. However, if it looks like these conditions will continue, I'll seriously consider swapping-in Caldwell

Ravens D should be an excellent play, as I think there will be a lot of turnovers.

I am thinking about going with Palmer. Taking my eggs out of one basket w/TJ and inserting Copper. I see Horn and Colston sitting this weekend. :bye:
