Week 02 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

One more:
FFPC scoring:

D.Singletary @ Wash or
D.London @ Phi
Probably Singletary. It appears to be a good matchup and I have to imagine Daboll will at least attempt to control the clock more than they did last week.

I don't enough have faith in Kirk Cousins's achilles tendon to roll with London ATM. Possibly a mistake and it could have been a product of a great Steelers defense but he looked terrible last week.

Singletary>London

.5 ppr
Start qb, 2 wr, 2 rb, flex, te, k, def

heres my starters now
Daniels
Evans
Devonta
Barkley
Jacobs
Waddle
Tasum hill
Santos
Clv def

Bench
Goff, jameson williams, aaron jones, mason, dobbins, mclaurin

Would you play goff or any of my bench rbs over who i got in? Thanks in advance
I presume you are rolling with Waddle because we are not certain of CMC's status on Sunday? Makes sense.

No problem with Jayden>Goff against that Giants defense.

Full ppr flex - pick one

Achane
Waddle
Mason

Since Miami plays today, need to make the call this evening. Since Waddle is the only sure thing, leaning in that direction.
It's good logic. With Achane a GTD, even if he does play Waddle may still be the best option.

Based on gut alone I think CMC misses this week too, but that may be magical thinking. You have nothing else to throw in on Sunday?

Waddle>Mason>Achane
Thanks for the reply. I see your point.

Yes I have other players to throw into the flex spot, but I consider them to be a step down from those above. Aaron Jones, Pickens, J Reed.

But to your point, the ability to wait on Mason has some value.

PPR league.

* J. Wilson vs BUF -- Assume Achane is active in this scenario.

* J. Wilson vs. BUF -- Assume Achane is INACTIVE in this scenario.

or

* B. Thomas vs CLE -- Thomas had a great initial showing last week and is clearly headed towards being Lawrence's top target. However, CLE has some tough corners.

Role with Wilson...if Achane is inactive (or even if he's active)?

Or go with the rookie B. Thomas?

Thanks

Waddle is a good play here. I might be tempted with Aaron Jones regardless of Mason. But Waddle is smart and has tons of upside.

12 team, 0.5 PPR, QB - 2 RB - 2 WR - 1 TE - RB/WR/TE - D:
  • Daniels
  • JT, Achane, Robinson Jr, Bigsby, Wilson Jr, Chase Brown, Allgeir
  • AJ Brown, Adams, Aiyuk, Shakir
  • Pitts, Hockenson (IR)
  • Steelers
A lot will be determined if Achane is healthy. If he is, I plan on starting him. If he is out, would you slide Robinson Jr vs, the Giants or Jeff Wilson on TNF (Mostert and Achane out in this case). Would you start both (One in flex) or roll with Aiyuk in the flex?

If Achane is in, would you flex Robinson Jr or roll with Aiyuk vs the Vikings?

Same question as last week.

Full PPR, Flex spot

Kamara @ DAL

or

DJ Moore @ HOU
I don't think I could go with DJ after last week. The matchups suggest you should but Caleb was terribly ineffective. Can we trust him enough to rebound in a big way? I think so but can't be confident. That being said the Cowboys can be overwhelming at home.

DJ>Kamara

Said with zero confidence

Good choices. Probably Aiyuk, but it's close between him and Robinson because of the Giants matchup and I think there is a small possibility the Niners shut down Darnold and the Vikings offense. I like both more than Wilson.

Aiyuk>Robinson

I appreciate the response! I too am leaning Aiyuk in this case.

Looking at my roster I actually have way too many RBs and am slim on WR. Would you drop Allegier or someone for another WR? Not a lot of great names left but there is McMillan or Dortch. Probably not IMO.

Burrow or Caleb

Need three flex in .5 ppr from:

AJ Brown, Worthy, Najee, London and Aiyuk (Also have J Wilson)
Taking a flier on Burrow bouncing back some. Calib in his first road start is a pass.

Wilson if he’s the man tonight, else Najee. AJ Brown and Aiyuk are starting also.

I wouldn’t drop Allegier. Probably better off staying Pat and see how things progress.

I don't know enough about these deep waiver WRs. Heard good things about McMillan and Dortch had a fine game but, in theory Allgeier is one of the better handcuffs in the game. So, probably not. At least not for now.

I think you're saying if Achane active, go Thomas. If not, go Wilson.

FGB bowl team is a mess.

Here's how I have it set right now:

Achane
Dobbins

Lamb
Evans
Keon Coleman

Ford
Amari Cooper

Bench:
Jaylen Wright
Jordan Mason

So with tonight's game, I can wait to the last minute to swap in Wright for Achane, assuming that's the move. Or just roll with Mason but we won't know if CMC is sitting. I feel like I'm missing something. Amazing how quickly our seasons turn into a melee.

Full PPR, start 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1Flex/1DST/1K

2RBs are set and forget with Hall and Pacheco
2WRs I want to fire up are Smith and Waddle
TE I have LaPorta

Flex...I can pick either:
DK (WR) (crapped out last week and another tough matchup in what could be a low scoring Defenseive slugfest)
Keon Coleman (WR)
McLaurin (WR)
Montgomery (RB) (I know traditionally you want to flex a WR in full PPR leagues, but this guy is a TD machine when the Lions get into the endzone)
I am even contemplating Isiah Likely (TE) as he is practically the WR2 on the Ravens so far)

TIA
You have good options. Any of them could outperform the others.

I personally probably roll DK or Montgomery. DK is the most physically gifted and most likely to salvage a bad week with a big play. I don't love his QB or his matchup. And Seattle may want to be a run first team (29 designed runs to 25 pass attempts last week). DK oy had four targets last week.

Monty is all about banking on the TDs. It's a pretty good bank too.

Monty>DK>McLaurin>Likely

I just made a trade with a panicked London owner and gave him McLaurin. With the eagles able to hang points does London become the favorite to start even with the lackluster first game?

OK, I'm sitting Coleman for Mason. We'll see.

Honestly I don't think so. Cousins looks very off ATM. I don't trust any falcons outside Bijan.

Agreed

Super-flex league, full PPR. Looks like I lost Jordan Love for a few games.

Flex 2:
David Montgomery v TBB
Justin Fields @ Denver
Jameson Williams v TBB
Fields is a lock in my opinion.

I lean Monty over Williams. Just trust him a lot more.

League two PPR, NOT super flex:

QB:
Justin Fields @ Denver
Trever Lawrence v Cleveland
Sam Darnold v SF
Caleb Williams @ Houston

Two flex spots:
Terry McLaurin v NYG
Jayden Reed v Indy
Devin Singletary @ WAS
Jaylen Wright v BUF*

*Mostert is already out but I think that only makes Wright RB3 in Miami. But if Achane sits I pretty much have to start Wright.
I'd go Fields and Lawrence. Don't trust Darnold yet against a good D, and Caleb needs to show something, and may not have Allen/Odunze.

I'd hold my nose and go Singletary/McLaurin and hope 2 bad defenses struggle against each other.
Alright I've got a cluster here ... Choose one:
Etienne (vs CLE)
Godwin (@ DET)
Jameson Williams (vs TB)
Metcalf (@ NE)
Olave (@ DAL)

PPR. 5-point bonus for 150 rushing or receiving yards. Projection-wise I am a 60%+ favorite, and I think that matters in this case (leaning toward Etienne or Godwin due to that).
Its a tossup between Etienne and Godwin for me. I lean toward Etienne as I think the Browns offense is gonna keep their D on the field a lot.
Full PPR, start 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1Flex/1DST/1K

2RBs are set and forget with Hall and Pacheco

Honestly, I take the plunge with Likely. Feel like he has the highest PPR ceiling. If you want to be a little safer, Monty would be 2nd choice.
I LOVE this thread!
Sorry,I'll calm down.

All FFPC scoring:

I need a final flex in this one:

D.Swift @ Hou.
Javonte Williams vs Pitt

And then ONE of the following:

Javonte Williams vs Pitt
C.Hubbard vs LAC

And then TWO from this motley crew:

D.Swift @ Hou
K.Shakir @ Mia
R.Doubbs vs Ind
D.Mooney @ Phi
Swift feels like an easy call. RBBC against the Steelers is rarely a winning combination.

Hubbard is closer, but I still lean against Javonte.

Swift and Shakir. Want no part of Doubs without Love, and no part of Mooney maybe at all.

First, thanks for the advice last week. This week I have two scenarios in a 0.5 PPR league.

I need any 3 of the following:

RB

Mason @ MIN (if CMC is out)
Henry vs LV
Conner vs LAR
Jacobs vs IND

WR

Jefferson vs SF

Jefferson is usually a lock but against SF with Darnold I am not 100% sold on it with the other choices but it feels like I need to stay with him.
Henry seems due for a big week and the Chargers just ran all over the Raiders.
If CMC is out, Mason is a lock for me. If CMC plays, it feels like Conner as active as he was last week has a good floor.

That is the way I am leaning but if you have a different take would like to hear it.
I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to sit Jefferson. I think he's a lock.

Mason is a must start if CMC is out. I probably lean Henry in the last spot. I'm a little concerned about GB's offense with Willis.
This is a gross option but it is what it is in my 14 teamer. Full PPR and need a RB 2:

Gus Edwards against Carolina
Javonte Williams against Pittsburgh
Jeff Wilson against the Bills with Mostert out and Achane a game time decision currently
Chase Brown against the Chiefs

Thanks in advance,
I'd go with Javonte and Gus. Brown needs to show something before I consider him, and I think with Achane playing Wilson/Wright may share the Mostert role.
Standard scoring non-ppr league, I'm looking for my WR3:

Pickens vs Den - will have a shutdown corner marking him who blanketed Metcalf last week
Godwin vs DET - Should hopefully be a high scoring game

I'm obviously leaning toward Godwin but every non-ppr rankings has Pickens higher.
I have Godwin a good but ahead of Pickens for the reasons you said.
standard scoring

Please pick 1 RB

Monty vs Tampa - goal line threat
Ford vs Jacksonville - seemed solid week 1
Wilson vs Buffalo - only under consideration if Achane doesn't play

Please pick which TE

Likely vs Raiders
Kincaid @ Dolphins

Thanks!!
I'd go Ford against the Jags. Monty is a little TD dependent, even if he typically gets them.

Despite the week 1 scores, I'd go back to Kincaid here.
.5 PPR

Godwin at Lions
McLaurin vs Giants

Gus Edwards at Panthers
Swift at Texans
Javonte Williams vs Pitt

Pitts at Eagles
Likely vs Raiders

Leaning towards McLaurin/Edwards/Likely

Thanks!
Godwin by a wide margin. I need to see Daniels make throws over 5 yards to sit a sure thing like Godwin for Terry.

Swift feels like the safest bet here. The other guys might be the #2 on their own teams.

I like Pitts here. Falcons will likely be point chasing against Philly.

Full ppr and I have to sit one of these players: Waddle, Rice, Tank Dell, or Worthy. Wish I could start all of them. What you guys think?
I'd sit Worthy. The TDs were nice, and he's a promising player, but I trust everyone else's targets more.
Full ppr flex - pick one

Achane
Waddle
Mason

Since Miami plays today, need to make the call this evening. Since Waddle is the only sure thing, leaning in that direction.
With Achane in, I think he's the call.
One more:
FFPC scoring:

D.Singletary @ Wash or
D.London @ Phi
I'm not THAT worried about London. I think the Falcons could be point chasing.

Or go with the rookie B. Thomas?

I'd prefer to take a shot on Thomas than hope Wilson does much with Achane playing.

I'd flex Robinson over Aiyuk.

I'd probably sit Coleman, and go Mason/Ford at Flex.
.5 PPR

Jeff Wilson vs Buff tonight with Achane active

OR

Demarcus Robinson @ AZ
This is a scenario where I'd go Wilson.
Full ppr do i start Rashee or Waddle tonight??
I'd roll with Rice. Just more targets.

Now I'm changing my question as it looks like Walker will sit for week 2.

Standard scoring, non-ppr.

Godwin or Charbonet?

Now I'm changing my question as it looks like Walker will sit for week 2.

Standard scoring, non-ppr.

Godwin or Charbonet?
I haven't seen that news yet.

Well, if you think the Seahawks will use Charbonet the same way they use Walker, I think they might, then I probably risk it.

No other Seahawks RB touched the ball last week and it's not PPR so

Charbonet>Godwin

heres my starters now
Daniels
Barkley
Jacobs

Bench
Goff, jameson williams, aaron jones, mason, dobbins, mclaurin

Unless you're an overwhelming favorite, I like Jayden over Goff. Assuming CMC is out, I actually like Mason over Jacobs.

In .5 PPR I need to pick two WRs:

DK Metcalf
Tank Dell
Terry McLaurin
Brian Thompson Jr

I have Jayden Daniels at QB.

I almost certainly go with DK & McLaurin.

I can't imagine DK will only see four targets per week and it looks like KWIII may miss the game so there should be at least a few more opportunities. Plus he can simply be physically dominant, I think I would go with him another week at least.

For McLaurin it's much the same plus they look to be playing a very substandard Giants defense.

I need to see more from the Texans passing game before I can trust Dell. Is he the odd man out now that Diggs is in town or was last week an aberration or is this going to be like playing whack-a-mole trying to predict which Texans WR will be most targeted each week?

Brian Thomas Jr is interesting. I don't think the Jags will be able to pass only 21 times/game all year, but I suspect Pederson would really like to try. I still believe Thomas is probably third in the progression behind Kirk and Engram and has to deal with possibly a run heavy offense. I probably wait another week to see how Jax shakes out.

DK>McLaurin>Thomas>Tank

Same question as last week.

Full PPR, Flex spot

Kamara @ DAL

or

DJ Moore @ HOU
I think until Caleb shows something, its hard to justify Moore over Kamara regardless of matchup.
Need 4 for WR/Flex. 1/2 point PPR

Aiyuk
Olave
Godwin
Brian Thomas Jr
Montgomery
Thomas would be my sit here. Olave should be more involved against an actual NFL team.
.5 PPR

Davante Adams or Chris Godwin
I'll say Godwin due to matchups, but most weeks I'd say Adams.
Burrow or Caleb

Need three flex in .5 ppr from:

AJ Brown, Worthy, Najee, London and Aiyuk (Also have J Wilson)
I'd roll with Burrow and hope it was just 1st game back jitters, and maybe NE's defense is really good.

AJ (always) London and Aiyuk would be my picks. I understand wanting to plug in Worthy, but I think he's still a distant 3rd in the pecking order, whereas despite the week 1 egg , London is still #1.

Now I'm changing my question as it looks like Walker will sit for week 2.

Standard scoring, non-ppr.

Godwin or Charbonet?
That is as coin flip worthy as it gets. Non-PPR I'll defer to the RB.
.5
London @ Phil
Stevenson vs Sea

Welcome back!
I think you gotta ride Stevenson while he's hot. Hope Pats D is good and wasn't bad Bengals in week 1, and they don't fall behind against Seattle.
In .5 PPR I need to pick two WRs:

DK Metcalf
Tank Dell
Terry McLaurin
Brian Thompson Jr

I have Jayden Daniels at QB.
I'd go DK and Dell. I don't trust Daniels to support anyone but Daniels yet.

Welcome back Chaka...love this weekly thread. Thanks.

.5 ppr

QB: Daniel or Kyler - I'm leaning Daniels vs the NYG over Kyler vs Rams - still flipping
RB starters (2): Breece and Barkley
WR starters (2): Evans and DJ Moore
FLEX need 2 from these: Diggs/Cooper/Montgomery/Brian Robinson

At this moment - I'm thinking both RB's give me the safest floor. I didn't watch the Texans, maybe I should wait another week and see if Diggs is a weekly redzone, or not. Robinson or Daniels will be scoring the TD inside the 5, so play both I won't miss out.

THanks

I think your only decision is at QB. I agree with you about Monty & Robinson vis a vis Diggs.

Personally I probably go with Kyler. He's still amazingly mobile and a far better passer than Daniels at this point.

But, there is nothing wrong with rolling out Daniels because of his mobility and apparently tasty matchup. He could easily outscore Murray.

Kyler>Daniels
