Week 13 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

Gore and Blount absolutely killed me in all of my Start'em Once Contests. I waited all year to start them both yesterday due to their "supposed great matchups" and each laid a giant turd. Of course I saved Ray rice for next week at home against Indy and he goes off this week. I guarantee he blows next week against Indy. Other than Victor Cruz, Laurent Robinson, Aaron Rogers and Marahwn Lynch, nobody goes off 2 weeks in a row.

Right before he scored I look at at my son and say "Mathews gets it down inside 10 and they bring Tolbert in. I'm sick of it." He says, but that's good, you get all the yards. I say "I'd rather have the touchdown. Watch. I'll bet this play is Tolbert right up the gut".

And yep, Tolbert right up the gut for the TD. Mathews couldn't have done that? I don't necessarily wish injury on anyone, but man, I'm close. Maybe he could get suspended or something.

Rant over.

Touchdown leagues suxor. Rant over.

There you go, buddy! I loved seeing it myself, because it meant that I get a point for Novak and VJax didn't score. Hopefully that Mathews TD will be enough to lock it up for you.

I'm gonna cry is Rivers gets taken out. I NEED ONE MORE COMPLETION FOR THE WIN AND PLAYOFFS! ! Please!

Thanks. Ya, my playoff position was already secured, but a win tonight keeps the third highest scoring team out of the playoffs so that elminates a potential threat in the playoffs. Seriously though, if Mathews doesn't score from outside the 10 and usually from outside the 20, he's generally not the one scoring. Frustrating.

I am seriously considering quitting all FF after tonight. It's a sign I think. I hate football anyway. I can't believe I lost like this. Blount and Beanie doing nothing. K Smith getting tackled by grass. Titus punching the dude. Dallas coach and Dallas kicker...Julio Jones and his zero last week. And II lose byto a point. FML.

Similar situation here. Playoffs were locked up, but this win secured the bye for me. Even better is that because Vincent Jackson had just a "good" day, I ended up winning in the league where I had him, and because it wasn't a huge game from him, I also won in the league where I played against him. I guess I should move this over to the bragging thread now.

MJD's last run of the game (14-yarder) knocks my brother out of the playoffs by 0.4 points. Faced the other guy in line for the last spot. :kicksrock:

I made the playoffs in the league I have (had) Matt Forte and Fred Jackson. I missed the playoffs in the league I have Ray Rice, DeMarco Murray, Matthew Stafford, Jordy Nelson, Kevin Smith/Maurice Morris, CJ Spiller, Julio Jones and Lance Moore. Wish I could switch those.

People griping about scoring too many points for a bye week need to shut it!!!

In perhaps my all-time most frustrating season ever, just lost and missed the playoffs by a point (played VJax and he did just enough). I don't remember ever losing so many close games in horrible fashion as this team did. If a star gets hurt mid-game, you can be sure I had him. If there was a wild improbable MNF scoring barrage, you can be sure I faced it (with the worst being that MNF game where the Ravens DST scored 3 TDs ... I lost by a point, after all but chalking up the win before the game started). Every roster decision I'm unsure about, I pick wrong. All this and I still would've made the playoffs if our league (12-team) had regular standings. But whoever set it up went with 4 3-team divisions, and I lose the tie-breaker even though I crush the one team in total points because he has a better "divisional record". So much for my team FBG "Rate My Team" had as a 99% lock to make the playoffs. Guess my managing was awful. I suck.

I know everyone says this, but I'm quite certain I'm done with fantasy football. Just makes me feel bad and angry ... even when I win I feel anxious. Hell, I played in 3 leagues this year and made the playoffs in the other 2 (with 12-1 and 8-5 records). But just one team doing bad feels like it overwhelms the ones that do good. And it's making me not want to watch football anymore, which is the opposite of what it should be doing. I know it's mostly luck and it's not worth getting upset about. But as much as I rationally tell myself that, I can't control how I feel. Just not having fun, and what's the point of a hobby otherwise.

:goodposting: I don't know how, but I squeaked into the playoffs in all three leagues with what was definitely my worst FF ever in terms of frustration. I am sure I had most of the same guys as you. I can honestly say there was not a single week where I didn't have a guy get hurt in game only to watch the backup finish a good game. Leaving tons of points on the bench even though the rankings agreed with you and your guys seems like the only one getting ignored.I made the playoffs in one league by having a huge game even starting the Rams D this week. I had all but given up so I didn't feel like wasting a buck the week before the playoffs. I needed Gronkowski, Harvin, Stevie Johnson, AJ Green, Chris Johnson and Kevin Smith to score 10 TDs and they did and it took a tie breaker to get in over the guy I tied for the last playoff spot. In a league where the average score is in the 110s, I needed to gain 72 points in one week. Hopefully, it is a sign that maybe things perked up and I got over the injury bugs. Then again, I did lose Forte in another league, so probably not seeing as how that was the one league my team had been less injury bitten. As you said, it has been a really frustrating year.

Dallas Cowboys.

Thanks for dropping that turd against Arizona......Freaking Arizona. Way to make the December push.

Special shout out to Felix Jones, You screwed me in the beginning of the season and then came back to screw me some more from the bench by taking valuable touches away from the stud that replaced you.

Special shout out #2 to the Dallas coaching staff for waiting one week too long to drop Tashard Choice.

In a 12 Team Dynasty league, fourth in points and not one of eight teams to make the playoffs (!?!).

One re-draft league had four losses by less than 3 points this year. At the last meeting on Sunday, I decided that Week 13 was Fantasy Football Festivus, and spent the whole meeting airing my grevences about Fantasy Football (while drinking Irish Coffees). It seemed like a handful of players screwed my various teams every week: Cruz, Welker, Balt D, Cam, Brady, Rice, Sproles, and Tony Gonzalez.

Players on my various teams that under performed: CJ, Roth, Nicks, VJax, Finley and Wells for their inconsistancy. Injuries don't bother me as much, but man has Andre Johnson been a disappointment... could have had Megatron instead.

And the last gripe is for leagues that use division record as the first tie breaker after overall record. How about total points? Or Victory Points. Whatever... I will be one and done.

The worst luck I've had in any given week that I can remember in 8yrs of FF, and in the league I treasure the most too.

Plays that hurt, any of these things go the other way and I win:

1a - Not a play, but a bad call. I started the Pat's Def over Pitt Def. That cost me a 16-point difference w/that bad call.

1b - All those garbage time stats by Indy were definitely frustrating and dropped my def quite a bit.

2 - Spiller's TD called back by a phantom holding call.

3 - Playing vs Rodgers, the TD to Jennings in the back of the endzone where it looked pretty obvious to me that he was bobbling the ball as he went out of the endzone. Not sure how the refs can make that call.

4 - Dallas icing my kicker Bailey and he misses the 2nd attempt. That was a 6 point swing and got -1 instead of 5 pts.

5 - Matthews getting vultured by Tolbert in the first half for a TD.

6 - Matthews getting pulled late in the blowout win.

7 - Didn't see the play, but heard Demarius Thomas on the radio where he said he over ran what would have been a 3rd TD.

I'm sure that there were some plays where I got lucky and my opponent missed out on some extra points. But, that doesn't change the fact that I lost 167-164 in such a frustrating way to the #1 seed in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Ok, venting complete.

I had to choose between TB DEF at home (after last weeks 20+ outburst) and DEN on the road. TB scored -1, I lost by one and missed the playoffs. :wall:

Dumped Mike Williams to pick up Damian Williams three weeks ago. A guy who was weak at flex who I'm going to meet in the playoffs picked him up. I suck.
