Week 14 2024 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

FBGs Bowl

A. Jones
Nabers
Dowdle
G. Wilson
Charbs

Pick one to sit the bench.

Interboard Challenge ppr

Tracy
Charbs
Ferguson
B. Cooks

Pick two.

Also I'm not a huge fan of starting Charbs in both leagues.
I would bench Charbs in the FBG bowl.

And start Tracy and Charbs in the other. Close between Charbs and Ferguson there - but I think you should always side with the RB when it’s close.

Have 2 unknowns....

TE: Hockenson vs ATl, or Njoku @ PITT

Flex: .5PPR Tyreek Hill vs , Jaylen Warren vs CLE, or now Braelon Allen @MIA
I prefer Jameis to Darnold but, ultimately Atlanta gives up a lot more passing TDs (21-12) and I think Njoku is a bit more TD dependent.

Hockenson IMO

ETA: regarding your second ask I'm not benching Tyreek for replacement level RBs.

Given K9 news, considering the following in 5 PPR...

Charbs vs ARI
or...
Guerendo vs. CHI

Leaning Charbs since Williams is going to be out for SF, but its a pretty tepid lean ATM. Talk me out of it?

Also considering two of Ike, Tracy, Charbs in another .5 PPR league
I want to say Guerendo but I think I prefer Charbonet here. It's difficult to get excited about anything SF ATM.

Between Tracy & Guerendo it's tougher. While I think the Niners are in a spiral, it's not certain but it's hard to argue the Giants aren't. Couple that with back to back 11 & 13 touch games and I go with Guerendo.

After deciding Herbert was too low upside, I picked up Wilson and am now wrestling mightily with

Winston @ Pitt
or
Wilson (same game)

Thanks
Interesting. Despite Wilson's monster game last week he's a little bit more of a mixed bag. It's a better matchup for Wilson...

I think Winston is a better floor/ceiling combo, particularly if you don't over penalize for INTs.

Are we not listing matchups?

I think I gotta sit Nabers. He's nursing a groin, his team is bad and he's getting low quality targets.

Charbonet and Tracy without much hesitation. Can you tell me why you would consider Cooks or Ferguson? Great matchup but that's about it.

.5 PPR need (2) flex from these gems:

Hill vs Jets
Dowdle @ Cin
Najee vs Clev
London @ Minn
Crazy but the Bengals are a must start against defense IMO, so I go with Dowdle.

It's tougher after that. I really want to smash start Tyreek with Sauce doubtful. And he's been steady floor since Tua got back and I still believe he has that 'reek upside. That is probably what I do myself.

I can make a solid case for London and he gets a massive share of end zone targets. And maybe Cousins has another big game.

He's my second choice.

1/2 PPR .. Pick 1

S.McCormick @ TB

Or

J.Warren vs. CLE
I want to say I would probably go with Warren. And he's a fine choice. Probably the correct one too.

But, I might take the risk with McCormick. Particularly if Mattison is out. Maybe this blocking scheme suits him and he pulls a '23 Zamir. If Mattison plays, and likely having Abdullah I go with Warren.

full ppr. Need a flex
Bucky Irving vs Raiders
Braelon Allen at Dolphins
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine vs Jaguars
Bucky is Q with hip but expected to play

Bucky all day IMO. He's just shown so much and it's a good matchup.

I like NWI too but he's very TD dependent... although he is very good at finding the end zone.

Allen may be good but he's a apec play. We don't know what he can do, if anything, with a full workload.

With breece out and Henry on bye, I need a flex. 💪

McCormick @ Tampa, Odunze @ SF, I Davis @ Miami, or Iosivas @ Dallas?

Looks to be a close game, win and I’m the 2 seed (only 1 seed gets a bye), lose and it’s probably 3 seed.

Odunze. Isn’t Moore sort of banged up?

Need two of these qbs. 4 pt passing I’m an underdog.

Jamies
Aidan O’Connell
Cousins
Bryce Young
Derek Carr

So I’m down 30 vs Jacobs already and I need to pick three of these receivers to start in .5 ppr/.5ppfd:
My three current starters are

Nabers (ignoring decoy talk)
Mooney
NWI (upside)

Or

Thielen (bad matchup)
Deebo (pretty unstartable but it’s now or never unless he’s cooked)
MVS

I could still beat this team in up against since I have Kyren, Tracy, Braelon (over Sincere, right?) and Bowers are my heavy hitters. Just needed some input. Thanks.

I agree. Just looking for other opinions. Appreciate the thoughtful analysis as usual

Looks like Mattison isn't going to play so I would risk it with McCormick. Probably stick with that even if Mattison does play. I am assuming McCormick gets a long look to close the season.

Jameis for sure. He's just dealing ATM.

I probably take Cousins as the upside play and hope he brings it in his return to Minn.

Nabers is firmly on my bench with a groin issue and bad QB. NWI has scored in 7 of 8 games, that is no longer an upside play, he's a primary target. I probably roll with him.

I don't think Deebo is cooked and he is the most physically gifted. Considering your options, I roll with him.

pick 3: Full PPR

Dowdle vs Cincy
Tracy vs NO
B Alen vs Miami
Waddle vs NYJ
Addison vs ATL
Pacheco vs LAC
Calvin Austin vs CLE

Pick 2: Half PPR:
Gus Edwards vs KC
Kareem Hunt vs LAC
Calvin Austin vs CLE

Dowdle, Tracy and Pacheco for sure. Not sure I can make a reasonable argument for any of the other options.

I probably bench Gus, I figure he and Hunt have similar TD opportunities so maybe flip a coin but I probably land on Hunt.

With Pickens out I'd go with Austin.

I wiffed all over the place in here … suggested Allen over Addison AND Charbs multiple times this week.

Sorry dudes. If it helps, I was with you along the way 😬
We've all heard the phrase "sometimes it's better to be lucky than good." I started Addison in a couple of leagues out of pure desperation this week. I also left Charbs on my bench in a league where it ended up not mattering. Of course, I'd give just about anything to take those bench points and be able to use them next week or the week after.

I sometimes think to myself that the easiest roster to manage is the one where your starters are clear because your bench just isn't very good, and the hardest rosters to manage are the ones with lots of options. Of course, most teams only avoid injuries for so long, so having options usually plays out better in the war of attrition than not having them. Unless you're more lucky than good, I guess.

FF is a fickle mistress sometimes. You spend hours going back and forth on lineup decisions, make what seems like the right decision (at least on paper), only to lose to the guy who isn't paying attention and started Isaiah Davis and Mack Hollins, not because he knew anything you didn't, but because he literally had no other/better options.
