Week 14 Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

EdwardCat apparently has 6 games on in his house right now, and has only trash to say about all of them.

I'm facing Forte and Turner. Of course, I'm getting my ### handed to me already. Thanks for sucking ### with an easy matchup, Adrian Peterson.

Played Eli over Schaub. Schaub gets that long TD to Walter and not long after Eli throws a huge bomb in the wind to Domenik Hixon for a probable TD....and Hixon drops it! Perfect pass right in his hands!

OD finally gets a look from Schaub--in the red zone, no less--and catches what was a certain TD only to fumble at the 1. ####!!!

Carney attempts a 47 yd FG and the kick is blocked.

Two fumbles lost by Peterson.

My season is over.

I was forced to start Hixon and Boss in the only league I made the playoffs in. My fantasy year, mercifully, is about to end. I will enjoy watching football for football the rest of the year.

Did not start Walter or Housh, instead started Hixon and Desean Jackson. Adrian sucked. The Vikings squeeked out a win against the worst team in the league. Facing Brian Westbrook.

I suck as a coach. 38 points on the bench on moves I considered. Schaub for Garrard, Calvin for Wayne, CJ3 for Turner.

The Giants "D" picks a fine week to go in the crapper. Allowed over 38 points to Westbrook, and guess who has WestbrooK? My opponnent :hot: :hot:  :wall: And to think I was loving this match up going in :bag:

That's Football for ya.

#### you Coles, thanks for the 1 catch for 5 yards you ######. Arizona's defense is doing a good job of ####### me in the ### too. :lmao:

I would like to apologize to the Hillis owners.

I have not played him all year until this week. In the last 2 years I have personally been responsible for 6 RB injuries - possibly more

Brown

Parker

Kolby Smith

Mendenhall

Hillis

Kevin Jones

#### you Coles, thanks for the 1 catch for 5 yards you ######. Arizona's defense is doing a good job of ####### me in the ### too. :hot: :hot: :hot:
I was so confident in the Jet receivers, I played Cotchery as well as Coles...and the Jets D. :bag: I'd also like to thank my fantastic hookup, Warner and Boldin for a monster game. Should've known the STL matchup was too good too be true. :lmao: All the venting I did about LT not getting big points vs the pathetic OAK run D...who woulda thunk he was going to be my biggest scorer? :coffee:

Was hurting at QB after Shaub went down so I traded my RB3-MJD for Brett Favre becaused I liked his schedule.

Played Favre against the 49ers this week instead of Shaub. Cost me 12 points and I lose my playoff game by 4. :bye:

Benched the IND D/ST for MN @ the last minute, and followed it up w/ benching MJD for K Faulk in a decent $ playoff game. The Williams wall was back w/ CPepp offering up pick 6's and fumbles galore, right?? :ptts:

If I didn't make either of these brilliant moves, I'm on to next week in that league (lost by 7). Wish I would have gotten tanked last night - too hung over to wake up early enough to screw myself over. Won the other 2 league's 1st rounder playoff games, so it's not that bad.

Hurts more cuz this squad started out 1-3 and I rallied to 9-4 (after winning the league last year).

Started Coles over VJax. Lost in the 1st round. Lost to the guy with the highest points this week. Story of my whole season. I have 350+ more points than anyone on the season, but always seemed to play the high scorer every week, just barely eeking into the playoffs.

Debated all week about sitting Addai, mainly because I didn't like the way the Colts had been using him and Rhodes. I have Rhodes, as well as Chester Taylor and Pierre Thomas. Was thinking Chester because the Vikes were playing the Lions and thinking Pierre a little but already had Colston and Shockey in my lineup so didn't want to go overboard with Saints.

When it all came down to it, I stuck with Addai because he was the only one of the group that was a starter, and I've always been told "go with the surest thing." So what happens? Addai scores 6.0 points for me, while Rhodes and Chester each put up 13.30 and Pierre kills with 26.90 ... oh yeah, I lost by 4 points and am out of the playoffs despite having the second highest point total for the season.

I guess this shows that you should sometimes let your gut override your head ...

ah i should have known antonio bryant would be well on his way towards 200 yards receiving to knock me out of the playoffs.

so long season, you won't be missed.

Must-win game this week.

At WR, I start Andre Johnson (no problems here), Reggie Wayne :X , and Lee Evans  .

At W/T, I start Jason Witten. :wall:

On my bench, I have Vincent Jackson (whom I benched for Witten!), Antonio Bryant, and Marvin Harrison.

Oh yeah, I started Steve Slaton at RB, which wouldn't be too horrible - except Jonathan Stewart is on my bench as well. :wall:

I'm now down by half a point with Ronde Barber still going, and my opponent has Buchanon. I have a bad feeling about this...

I'm going to lose in the playoffs....probably by around 12-15 points. I started the Vikings DST over the Colts DST...losing 17 points right there (thought it was a good play). I started Colston and Hixon over Bryant (thought those were good plays), and Bryant has already outscored both tonight.

And even with all that, I still would have won if Hixon didn't drop his bomb, or if Hillis didn't get hurt. Oh...and way to go AP. I just knew you would dominate against the Lions like say....every other RB that faces them.

I start Brandon Jacobs over DeAngelo Williams.

I lose my playoff game because Jeremy Stevens gets 26 yards. 19 yards and I win. 7 yards. 7 little yards. 7 ####### yards.

First venting post I've ever made.

Down 185-160 going into MNF with Dunn, Moose and TB D/ST...totally duable in my league. One guy in my league even made a dreaded 'you got it' kiss of death post.

I lost 185-184 in the first round of the playoffs to a team that was 5-8 in the regular season and the only reason he was in the playoffs is because the rest of his division was inept. He would have been in last place in any other division.

Funny...venting doesn't make me feel any better.

Thanks for the season FBG...you're one of the reasons I was in the playoffs.

Antonio Bryant's great game brought me back ... close enough to lose by .05 in the first-round of the playoffs. Fortunately I am used to this feeling because I lost by .85 in the semifinals a year ago.

Why do I play this game?

DeAngelo got me eliminated on that last run too, and I lost by a point & a freaking half. What really gets me is if I had started Walter or Bryant instead of Leon or Wayne I would have easily advanced. That pretty much disproves the theory that you "Dance with who brung you." This game just crushes you sometimes. AAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!

Lost in the first round of the playoffs. I was up by 21 points going into tonight. I had Steve Smith. He had DeAngelo Williams. We actually traded these two players for each other 5 weeks ago.

He won the game tonight by 2.8 points, a result of Williams's 36 yeard TD run with 2 minutes left. Could have been the last offensive play of the game (they were running out the clock). Had someone tackled Williams, the Panthers would had kneeled out the clock.

What a way to lose!

I'm pretty bummed.

Not my vent, but a leaguemate who is ready to break something over his bad beat:

- He's up 9 after Tampa scored their last TD and his Bryant is about to kick the PAT.

- Peppers blocks the kick, he loses 1pt since missed PATs are -1. Two point swing.

- His opponent has DeAngelo Williams, whose 42yds and a TD on that post-onsides kick drive adds 10pts to his total.

Lost by 2, the margin of missing vs. making the PAT. Lost because DeAngelo took it to the house for a late 10pts.

I traded DeAngelo Williams for Jason Campbell prior to Week 10.

Schaub got hurt, and I didn't feel comfortable with only Shaun Hill (just picked up) and Pennington.

I had Ryan Torain coming into shape.

Lately, I want to shoot myself every Monday morning. This week, that feeling held off until Tuesday.

10-3 in the regular season, highest scoring team by over 100 points (avg score in league was 78 ppg, I averaged 92 ppg). My three losses wer by .5, 1.5 and 5 points. So first round of the playoffs I get knocked out 93-92.

Four losses on the entire year by a grand total of 8 points. I hate this game. Lee Evans, you are dead to me. Hillis and Gore, thanks for getting hurt. Romo, thanks for that last int. Me.... :lmao:

For me it wasn't a second-guessing-hindsight-is-20/20-week14-bench-start-bad-beat. It was a disappointing result to a very good season despite finishing strong with hi points Week 14.

2nd hi pts in the league this season.

3rd highest Power Ranking (.003 out of 2nd)

Three Division winners and one Wildcard go. But due to playing in a rockstar division where I tied for 1st with 2 others (18-10 with doubleheaders), I missed the upper level playoffs on the second tiebreaker for the Wildcard spot. So I'm the #5 seed and ineligible for the championship.

The #4 seed (weak division winner) is 13-15 and 8th in Power Ranking.

My goal now is to end the year with the highest Power Ranking, season Hi Points and Hi Pts Week 15 and 16.

Two more guys I hate: My team - Lee Evans. His team - Antonio Bryant. Lost by .5, goodbye season.

Please take a moment to look at the line-up in my signature. In 10+ years of playing fantasy football, this is the best collection of talent I've ever been able to assemble. In fact, on paper it's the best team I've seen in any league I've played in. I've got a top 6 QB, four top 20 RBs, four top 20 WRs, a top 4 TE, and a decent Def/ST and PK.

I had a terrific draft (e.g. CJ3 in round 7, Rodgers in the 8th, Slaton in the 11th), no major injuries (I picked up Colston after he got hurt when his impatient owner dropped him) and made a couple of key trades along the way (e.g. ADP for Brandon Jacobs and Cotchery). After nine games I was sitting at 7-2 and began to think playoffs (traded MJD for Bush based on their playoff matchups). Unfortunately, my team stumbled mightily down the stretch going 1-4 and missing the playoffs due to a head-to-head tiebreaker with another 8-6 team. This horrific stretch featured one loss where I was the week's 2nd leading scorer and another where I was 3rd for the week.

In the end I was done in by the fact that I seemed to start the wrong RB in each of the important games down the stretch. I was the second leading scorer in the league over the course of the season, yet finished in 5th place.

While I've had worse performances in the past, this is the most disappointing finish to the season I have ever suffered.

Sounds remarkably similar to my situation. I share similar goals. I intend to finish the season by outscoring all teams in both week 15 and 16 -- and the Lineup Dominator indicates that is a realistic goal.

10 team league,2 divisions and top 2 in each division make the playoffs.Going into the weekend I was undefeated in division games and had a game lead on 2 teams chasing me .I ended up losing the game by 15 points(thank you Wayne,Frerotte and Colston) and in a 3 way tie for the division. I was 7-1 in division games, swept both other teams but didn't make the playoffs because total points is the 1st tiebreaker and I needed 7.25 more points.

Brutal. Your situation highlights why I like head-to-head as the first tiebreaker.

Usually don't complain, but I have to get this one off of my chest; need some closure. Finished second in my division and the total points leader in my big $$ league ($300 entry).

Struggled all week with two decisions:

QB - Roethlisberger/Schaub/Hill - Our league is only 3 point TDs and no penalty for picks, so I really thought Roeth would get the most yards playing against a Cowboys D that can stuff the run but struggles against the pass. Plus, both MyFBG projections had him as the best play (not blaming FBG; just giving my rationale).

RB - AP, Chris Johnson and DeAngelo - Rellay struggled with Johnson/DeAngelo, but benched DeAngelo due to the "bad" TB matchup.

End story; lost by 6 points. Had I gone with Schaub or Hill over Roeth, I would have won. Had I gone with DeAngelo over AP or CJ, I would have won.

All Possible Combinations:

Roeth/AP/CJ - Loss

Roeth/AP/DeAngelo - Win

Roeth/CJ/DeAngelo - Win

Schaub/AP/CJ - Win

Schaub/AP/DeAngelo - Win

Schaub/CJ/DeAngelo - Win

Hill/AP/CJ - Win

Hill/AP/DeAngelo - Win

Hill/CJ/DeAngelo - Win

Yes, I picked the 1 in 9 combination that loses me the game.

:lmao:

Just did some diggin...

If it weren't for missing the cutoff by 1 pt in the Subscriber Contest in week 7...I'd still be alive and thriving. Deangelo, T. Jones, Chris Johnson, Slaton - yep, 4 top 10 RB's, plus Gonzo, Boldin, Marshall, Warner, Brees.

:)

I'm "that guy" who had Portis and Barber. Despite finishing first in the league and first in scoring I was bounced from the playoffs by a 5-8 team. I only lost by 5 points. I tried real hard to get my league to move away from a 8 team playoff format for a 12 man league but they voted against it. By the way, did anyone else think Kurt Warner looked like he was literally falling asleep in the second half? Anyone else think Greg Olsen did not get in the endzone? Oh, I feel better now. Not really.

Similar here. I've got Barber and Gore. Luckily last week was a bye for me. I already had Choice as a handcuff, and just got Foster. Also have Norwood and Hightower. I guess I'll just watch the updates and hope for Dallas and SF situations to clear up some. Oh, and I'm going to a 4:00 Panther game, so I won't be able to get updates in on Dallas before 8:15.
