I think so. ATL has a weak secondary but a stout run D, where Carolina has shown some signs of life in the run game lately but still has no QB.
I'm considering
Den @ Ari - Den HC fired and usually players tend to turn it around the next game (See Dal and Minn). Plus Skelton is the likely starter and he's supposedly not NFL ready
TB @ Wash - Wash has given up points to defenses lately but TB just lost their best CB Talib to IR
SF vs Sea - Seattle is not a good team on the road

To anyone saying they don't trust the Denver D; think back to the Houston D against Tennessee two weeks ago.
Skelton is awful, there is no RB in Arizona anywhere close to the talent level of Chris Johnson, and we just saw Champ Bailey shut down one of this season's best performing receivers. So if the Houston D can get 17 fantasy points with a shutout to boot against the Titans, why would anyone think Denver isn't capable of a similar performance?

I think I might roll the dice and go with Denver. Champ Bailey looked good last game and I think the team might be a little bit revitalized after they fired McDaniels.Problem with the Niners is that they have a weak secondary and I can see Mike Williams / Obomanu getting a couple of TDs.Any team facing Cutler is usually a good play as well.

The Browns defense has been playing some VERY solid football ever since the week 7 upset over New Orleans. Check game logs for exact stats to see how they've fared in your scoring system, but in my league, they have scoring outputs of 27, 9, 6, 26, 8, and 14 over that timespan.Pepper in the fact that the weather in Buffalo is supposed to be quite wintery, the Bills haven't exactly been the most adept offense (with Fitzpatrick proving prone to turnovers), and Joshua Cribbs has been amazingly quiet in the return game this season (meaning he's well overdue to take to the house at any time), and I think Cleveland is a very solid choice this week, especially if you're considering their week 14 opponent as your alternative.
Not a Browns fan, but they are ranked 4th and 5th, respectively, in the leagues I'm in. Certainly a viable option against Buffalo, IMO.

I didn't even realize how favorable the Cleveland matchup was until some of you mentioned it. Very valid play right there; and they've already accrued 100 points on the season in my league. Definitely seems to be a safer play than Denver. As much as I'd like to say I'm behind the Falcons this week, my gut is telling me that this is the week the Panthers finally score that major upset.
Doesn't seem like the best idea. Houston scores a lot of points no matter what, and Schaub has looked decent lately.
I drafted CLE in the last round and dropped them to pick up CHI when some knucklehead cut them for some stiff. I've been riding CHI all year since.
I just grabbed CLE since CHI plays NE this week (first week of our playoffs).
DEN, IND and BUF are out there too but I do like CLE's matchup better than those teams. DEN is probably a close second but they have been absolutely atrocious in my league (last place with less than 75 points). Terrible.

Oakland is so inconsistent though. They looked like a playoff team against SD. The few weeks before that they looked pitiful. And, MJD and Garrard have played well overall the last month or so. I am not saying that Oakland would not be a good start because there is potential. It would be a risky play.
Other side of the country, early game, after a big divisional win vs. a team that's won 5 out of the last 6. I'd be tempted to start JAC here if they weren't such an awful fantasy D.

I just picked up Philly @ Dallas, but I'm not feeling great about the match-up.

I had SD starting but now it's hard to trust them with how awful they looked last week. I'm rolling with the Falcons and leaving the Chargers and Cowboys on my bench for the next two weeks. It isn't a given that Cassel won't play, but I'll keep my eyes on that situation.I would not start any defense against the Cowboys. They've scored a lot of points the last few weeks and should continue to click without Bryant. The SEA D might not be a bad play this weekend. ATL doesn't travel all that well, and it's usually when things start looking rosy that Falcons just mail one in on the road. SEA looked peretty good last week after slow starting.
MINN D vs NYG is a decent play too, with the resurgence of the minn O and D. Especially with Bradshaw being banged up, could see this one going Minns way.

This confused me. Seattle plays ATL week 15, and the title to this thread is week 14 Waiver Wire DST. For week 14, I am starting SEA at SF this Sunday, then Carolina week 15 vs ARZ, then Dallas week 16 at ARZ.

I have actually been holding TB for this week. WASH has given up double digit points in 6 straight weeks.. So the thinking is that TB lost their best CB? Did he play last week? I thought TB has played pretty well, and they are in a dogfight for playoff spot while WASH has real issues. TB has been inconsistent, but seems to play well against easy match-ups (AZ, SF. CIN)Bills also look to be coming on over last 3 weeks. 60% chance of rain/snow and wind in BUF this week. CLE, DEN are already gone from my WW...

I picked up the TB D to use for the next couple of weeks. They have been playing well. Hopefully the loss of Talib does not hurt too much.

Last week's game has me a little worried though. Letdown on the road? It is Cutler though.I'm 50/50 between them and Denver right now.
Jeez, what's the downside? Assuming AZ doesnt score on Defense or Special teams, they score 13 max? And get sacked/fumbled/picked 5+ times with the rookie clown in?
I have SD but am heavily considering picking up Denver. Just reading the quotes from Wisenhunt saying things like "he isn't ready" and "don't expect much" in regards to Skelton, its tempting to go with Denver... I know this isn't WDIS forum but for people starting Denver what were your other options?

I don't expect the Saints DEF to be available on everyone's WW, but they look like a better play than many of the DEFs mentioned here including the Dolphins and Bucs.

Not so sure about that. We've struggled with the passing game over the past three weeks, and I simply can't play the optimist role and say we're going to make Bradford look like a rookie. I have a feeling the Saints will jump out to an early lead, but St. Louis will come surging back late, much as the Bengals did last week. Just too many points being scored to justify starting our D in fantasy.I think I'm going to stick with the Falcons D for tomorrow. While I've considered starting a Chargers unit that will be facing Brodie Croyle, I think Jamaal Charles will exploit the holes in SD's defense.
