With this being a playoff week any stat corrections could potentially be game changing. Right now the NFL clearly has an incorrect stat in their official stats with respect to the sack credited to L. Timmons against the Broncos. From the game log:
1-10-PIT 36(7:19) (Shotgun) 17-B.Osweiler FUMBLES (Aborted) at PIT 43, and recovers at PIT 43. 17-B.Osweiler sacked at PIT 43 for -7 yards (94-L.Timmons).
As the play stands right now it is ruled an aborted play and it is ruled a sack. That's impossible by the NFL's own rules. Either it is an aborted play and no sack is credited or it is not an aborted play and the sack can stand. From the nfl stat guide:

3. Aborted Plays An aborted play is a play from scrimmage during which there is not a pass or a kick, which falls into one of the following categories:
B. the intended ball-handler fumbles the snap from center;
If the player who recovers the fumble makes an apparent attempt to pass and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage, score the play as a sack, not an aborted play. If there is doubt as to whether or not the player recovering the fumble was able to collect himself and make a legitimate apparent attempt to pass, the play shall be regarded as an aborted play.
It appears that the sack should be removed on this play. The scoring should be changed as follows (example from the guide):
Example III: Third-and-25 at own 40-yard line. Quarterback fumbles snap on what appears to be a definite passing down. He recovers at the 35. Scoring: An aborted play; quarterback gets one rush for no yards, a fumble, an own recovery, and minus 5 (fumble yardage) yards.
By the letter of the law that play was clearly not a sack and the NFL should make the scoring change. They have to make at least some scoring change as you can't have an aborted play and a sack. Fingers crossed the change is made to no sack....the result of my game depends on it.
