regarding flex scheduling procedure, NFL.com states:

In Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

(as opposed to the normal 12 days notice required for weeks 11-16)The present Sunday night game is the Chiefs at Jets and I can't imaging the NFL sticking with this matchup for its showcase game in week 17. The Patriots play the Giants on Saturday, Dec. 29 so that game is not eligible to be moved to Sunday night. I have tickets to the Lions at Packers and am hoping that game will stay as scheduled - which will likely be the case in the event the Packers have clinched the 2nd playoff seed and the Lions are eliminated. I could see Titans at Indy, Jags at Houston, or Pitt at Baltimore getting moved.Given those considerations, which game is likely to be flexed and how likely is the Packers-Lions game to be the one?

The Washington game in week 16 just got the bump to primetime so I sort of doubt they would get bumped two weeks in a row. Anything is possible though.

Wow, what a crappy week. I agree DAL-WAS and TEN-IND are possibilities. I'd also add MIN-DEN as having an outside shot.

They have to be careful not to put themselves in a situation where the participants in the night game already have their position set based on the earlier games, resulting in a game of 2nd string action.

Can anyone confirm this?I would love for it to be true, for a myriad of reasons I won't go into because it's far too complex and far too boring to explain. From the way things are shaping up, the only games which will have ANY sort of real meaning in the final week is Dallas/WASH and Detroit/GB. This from NFL.com:

The NFL will decide (after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC) and announce as early as possible the game being played at 8:15 p.m. ET

Does this mean they will go to FOX and give them the opportunity to pull one game back? If so, I would imagine that FOX would want to keep the big Cowboys/Skins rivalry game, and the Lions and Pack would end up on Sunday night. Ahhhhh, screw it. I'm confused.

Possibly, but New Orleans would need to beat Philly next week, and Minnesota would need to lose at least once in the next three weeks for that game to have wildcard implications. If the Eagles beat the Cowboys today, the Pack and Boys are tied for the # 1 seed in the NFC, though Dallas has the advantage because they beat them head-to-head. But both teams would need to keep winning to get HFA throughout the playoffs, which is why the two games I mentioned would be the most likely ones to be moved.

with Pitt's loss to Jax today, their record is now 9-5

with Clev win vs Buff today, their record is now 9-5

Pitt @ Bal could decide who wins the AFC North and hosts the 1st round

Also, this is a divisional game

Plus, you know that Pitt has a big following so ratings might also come into play

(but with Dallas losing, GB would a strong consideration)

Dalllas cannot be in the game. They have reached the NFL maximum of 6 primetime games (NBC Weeks 1,3,9; ESPN Week 5; NFL Network Weeks 13 and 16).

TEN @ IND

SF @ CLE

MIN @ DEN

NOR @ CHI

I suppose they'd grab TEN @ IND from those 4.

If Tennessee wins today, Cleveland's game essentially does not matter - it all rides on the result of Tennessee. The only way Cleveland's result matters is if Tennessee ties!
