Week 17 Game Thread - Denver Broncos at San Diego Chargers (1 Viewer)

One of the keys to beating the Colts is to be able to generate pressure with your front 4 and not having to blitz. W/o Merriman, it's much tougher for Rivera and the Bolts. But, we played'em even at the Q a couple months ago, so the line should be ~ a toss up.
Even? I am pretty sure the Colts won that game. :goodposting: :bye:

A WR screen to Tatum Bell on 3rd and 5? And then Stokely drops the 4th down pass. Like I said, Cutler is getting no help. He has made some mistakes, but anyone who even thinks of blaming him for this loss at all is an idiot.
I think Cutler saw no DB covering Tatum and tried to improvise a quick one. That one is on Jay.

Anyone else touching LT next year? Me neither.
Oof.
:goodposting: LT may fall to the mid-late 1st round next year if this opinion is more widely held. He'd be a steal there; I predict a HUGE bounce back season assuming he's healthy.
:bye: We haven't seen eye to eye on Rivers, but congrats to your team getting in today. Rivers was certainly a Pro Bowl QB over Favre.Several tough outs getting in today.(BTW, what is the deal with that avatar??)

John Madden is so dumb, calling SD the hottest team in the AFC. Uh, John, the Chargers have only won 4 in a row (if you count this one as a win already). The Colts have won 9 in a row, one of which was AT San Diego. I guess mathematics is not Madden's strong suit. :goodposting:

Don't get all bitter.
I am not bitter at all. I pretty much expected what is happening tonight. I am just chuckling at gunz trying to spin a home loss as somehow being an even game.

I said it a few weeks ago. If the Bolts get into the playoffs, they are a very dangerous team.
Indy is hot. I would consider them the favorite at this point. SD gets to play them at home though.
Few teams match up as well with the Colts do as the Chargers. The spread should be very interesting.
I think without Merriman the match-up becomes much tougher. We were always able to get pressure on Peyton in the past.

I'd say Colts -2 or -2.5 at first blush, but they aren't peaking as much as SD.It should be between 0 and 3 pts for the Colts (Colts -1 to -3 I would expect). O/U around 50.

TGunz was talking about a pickup flag football game he and his friends cooked up with the Colts in the parking lot after the game. Both sides scored three times and TGunz's squad was about to score again, but the Colts had a bus to the airport that they had to catch.

Damn, I must have missed that memo. I blame it on Lumbergh.

Fixed. :D Thanks - it's been a very frustrating and long year for us Charger fans.

Avatar is Rachel Maddow, my favorite new political talking head.

Cheers. :suds:

Hart got mauled on that TD. Scheffler used his shoulderpads as a launch platform.
You might be overstating it, but there was a slight pushoff. I'm not sure it was enough to call.
It wasn't the pushoff. He actually propelled himself upwards off the shoulderpads (as opposed to pushing Hart away). That's probably why the refs didn't see it.
:2cents: I guess I didn't see it either.
I'll forgive you.

This is only the second game this year that Sproles has touched the ball 10 times or more (on offense). That is just plain stupid. The guy is a playmaker.

Wow, looking at all 4 games, I think it is possible that all 4 road teams could be favored.
ATL, definitelyIND, not so sureBAL, probablyPHI, not so sureIt could happen though.
I could be way off, but I have it:ATL - 4.5O/U 47.5PHI -2O/U 43BAL -2O/U 39INDY -2.5O/U 48.5
The way SD is rolling right now, I just can't see them being an underdog at home. I would say a pick em at the worst, but that is just my opinion.I like the ATL and spread, but BAL could be pushed to 3. They should have a slightly larger spread than PHI, imo.

I like the guy a lot, but anyone who signs Sproles expecting more than a Jerious Norwood role is expecting too much. He's great b/c he's a change of pace. I would not want my team running him out there as the #1, every down back.

First 3 are posted. I think I did pretty good. :football:And no, I didn't peek.PHI -3O/U 42-42.5BAL -3O/U 36.5-37ATL -2.5O/U 50-50.5Only really off on the ATL/AZ O/U. That's a big number.I like the over so far in BAL/MIA at first glance.

We may have been defensive about it after the Hochuli game, but it's clear that the Chargers are better than the Broncos, this year, by a large margin. Playing like this, I honestly think they could be a legitimate title contender, something I'd never have thought about an 8-8 team.

Congratulations to the Chargers and their fans on a great comeback to win the division again, and best of luck in the playoffs.

-A Broncos fan :football:
