Week 17: Knile Davis... what to expect? (1 Viewer)

Jamaal Charles is likely to play only 1 or 2 series. Given that most of the KC backups will be playing, what is a realistic line for Davis vs SD?

I would guess Charles jsut doesnt play at all, but either way Davis will see a lot of touches.

You would think the Chargers would win the game somewhat easily, but Davis would probably get touches in garbage time also if they happen to go down like 31-7 or something in the 4th.

I am not going to predict a line, but I am predicting 20-25 touches.

I passed on him in favor of Grimes. KC is going to lay down in this one and SD just might be playing for a playoff berth. They also have a good run defense. Knile Davis has had a disappointing season as a backup.

Knile Davis could possibly be the best rb in the class. He's just stuck behind a already established eliete RB. He should see 15-20 touches. The problem with handicapping him this week is the Chargers could be going all out. If the Chargers are eliminated before the game even starts then 100-150 yards are on the table(with 0-5 fumbles lol). Glad I will be just watching

His opportunities have been lacking, but he has looked great in those limited touches

What makes you think he is best in this class? I'm not sure he is even top 5.

Agreed. I can't see how anyone would feel Davis has been disappointing in his role.

It's tough to predict what we will see from Davis especially since the game means so much to San Diego.

What made you think I said that? He's not getting 200+ touches to find out anytime soon. Why could he POSSIBLY be best in class? He has a bad history with fumbles and injuries. If that continues he will be quickly forgotten. However, there are not too many people with his physical measurable that also have proven high-end production in college. Therefore it's POSSIBLE.

Are the offensive linemen going to be out too? I would not expect much. If he is the main backup, does he really get 20-25 touches? What happens if Charles gets hurt and you get this guy dinged up. They play the following week, no way this guy gets 20 touches this week. He'll get some and whoever is 3rd string will also get some, they won't sit everyone on offense and pound this guy who isn't used to that kind of beating to possibly need him the following week. He'll get more work than he normally does, 10-14 carries times 3.5 yards per carry with a 25 percent chance he scores a TD.

Someone needs to remind the chiefs to lay down.
