Week 2 2025 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Here is a tough one, for me at least.

Start Matthew Golden tonight or roll the dice on London? I have other options, but these are my best two.
PPR?
London had a limited practice yesterday and Golden had two targets last week.

It really depends on your options because, you likely have someone who will get at least two targets (worst case scenario thinking).

Ppr, but I don't expect the Packers to only throw 6 times in the second half.
I don't either. But, how do you view Golden's target ceiling?
By height?

/fletch
#rimshot?

David Montgomery against the bears or jaylen warren against the Seahawks?
I did not love either last week. I was surprised Warren saw fewer snaps than Gainwell 30 to 25 (54% to 45%). Is that a trend? IDK, wasn't Warren supposed to be the passing down back at the very least?

Monty also only played on 25 snaps which, was only a 37%. I do believe that is game script dependent and it will probably be better this week.

Monty>Warren

gross i know but need to choose 1 (PPR)

Reed vs GB
Austin vs SEA
Boutte vs MIA
Austin is the clear WR2 in Pittsburgh. GB is crowded for pass catchers, good look predicting which one any given week. Boutte may be the #1 in NE, depending on Diggs development in McDaniels system.

No on reed and between Austin and Boutte I probably play the matchup.

Boutte>Austin>Reed

Need a flex in half PPR.

- Ridley vs LAR
- Merritt vs GB
- Kraft vs WAS

Thanks!
Ugh.

JCM is still a role player in Washington. He played 33% of the snaps last week, to 47% for Ekeler and that was a game they had well in hand. His time will come but, I wouldn't bet on it this week.

Ridley will probably see the most targets at home, in a tough matchup.

Kraft has a better matchup and sees a lot of snaps but, the Packers pass catchers are tough to predict. Maybe this is his week but, I'd say you have a 25% chance of calling it right.

Ridley>Kraft>JCM

Pick 2: Pearsall, Hunter, and JCM in a .5PPR league?
Please include the matchups. I find I am having to look up if these are home or road games and that makes a difference.

I probably bench JCM in a road game where passing may be more important. He only played 33% of the snaps in a game they had well in hand at home vs the Giants.

Pearsall>Hunter>JCM

Chaka - as always, appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Got a choice at QB -
Scoring is 2 pts for every 50 yards passing (5pt bonus for 351+), 1pt per every 5 completions, 6pt TD, -2 INT

Baker Mayfield @ HOU
OR Dak Prescott at home vs NYG

I always like to have a rooting interest on MNF, but I'm leaning Dak. Any thoughts?

At TE, my options are:

Henry @ MIA
JJohnson vs SF

Leaning Henry as the safer option, though I am an underdog so maybe I should go with Johnson's higher upside?
Someone posted this question earlier. In my opinion, Henry is who we think he is; A 35 to 40 yd per game guy with a TD. Every four games or so. He'll occasionally have a weird multi-touchdown game, but I don't want to predict that.

Juwan is also probably who we think he is. However he's in an entirely new situation. New quarterback, new offense, new head coach. So, in my opinion, with Henry as your other option, I'll roll the dice that Rattler has eyes for Johnson.

Juwan>Henry
I understand Chaka's reasoning, but I think defenses will adjust and start rotating coverage to Johnson.

I would go Henry here. MIA is a dumpster fire and Henry has a much better chance at a TD.
Agree. Henry.

1 ppr. I need one RB from these two.
KW3
or
Charbonnet

I'll let you all pick for me because I'm sure whoever I picked would be the wrong one.
TIA

I'll start:

PPR I need two:
Marquise Brown v PHI
Jameson Williams v CHI
D'Andre Swift @ DET

ATM I have Brown on the bench in a tough matchup but I am wondering if he should be a starter because it's PPR.
I'd have a really hard time starting Williams over those 2, especially in PPR. I actually like Hollywood the most out of those 3.
Hello again....hello

FPC scoring:

Need a final flex:

W.Robinson @ Dall. or

D.Mooney(if healthy) @ Minn
Mooney is he's playing.
Half PPR:

Need one of the following for flex:
Jakobi Meyers v LAC
RJ Harvey @ IND
Pacheco v PHI
Calvin Ridley v LAR
Keon Coleman @ NYJ
I've got Meyers light years ahead of those other guys, regardless of Bowers status, though he probably gets a bump if he's out.
PPR pick 2
Jayden Reed vs Washington on TNF
Jaylon Waddle vs NE
Keon Coleman @ The Jets

PPR pick 1 - no IDP points
Travis Hunter vs cincy
Keon Coleman @ The jets
K Walker @ Pittsburgh

SF (starting hurts plus)
Dak vs the giants
JJM vs falcons
Gotta go Coleman out of those 3. I'd lean Waddle over Reed, but its close. Reed is basically useless whenever he doesn't get a TD. Reed ran 12 routes last week.

I'd sit Coleman among these 3. Jags/Bengals profiles as a shootout, and the Steelers run D was non-existent last week.

I lean Dak over JJ, as Dak seems to always do well against the Giants.
O.K. I'm asking this for a friend
THIS week
FPC scoring
Don't laugh

J.Burrow vs Jax
J.Herbert @ LAV

Last week my "friend" started Herbert
It worked
Deja Vu all over again?
I'd go Burrow in what feels like a shootout, though I'll start to be concerned if the Bengals offense struggles this week.
0.5 PPR. Pick 2:
  • Metcalf vs. Seahawks
  • McLaurin vs. Packers (TNF)
  • Ridley vs. Rams
I'd sit McLaurin. Don't like the matchup, with Parsons and co likely not giving Daniels the time needed for deep shots, and GB having good S play. Feels like more of a Deebo week.
PPR need two:

MHJR vs Car
Metcalf vs Sea
Egbuka @ Hou
I'd sit DK here. In theory, nobody knows more about how to slow him down than Seattle, and truthfully, I think Seattle's D is much better than the Jets.
Standard scoring Non-PPR league. I need to start one of these players in my flex:

Hill vs NE - only managed 40 yards last week; literally anyone else I played would have outscored him; bounce back at home?
Deebo vs GB - Thursday night game so I need to make the call here; seems to be heavily involved while he is healthy
Etienne vs CIN - I'm normally not a chase the pts guy, but he flashed and Tank is no longer in the picture

Tough call. I usually lean toward RB but didn't last week as there was more uncertainty in JAX.

Thanks in advance for all the replies!
I think you've made the case for Etienne. Tank is gone, good matchup, possible 3-down role.
PPR
A Ekeler at GB
D Sampson at Balt
I think the PPR scam with Sampson keeps on rolling.
Need 2/3 PPR
J Meyers vs LAC
C Olave vs SF
J Williams vs Chi
I see no reason to start Williams until the offense shows us they are gonna be able to support multiple pass catchers post-Johnson. Kind of expecting a run heavy gameplan against the Bears.
One of the best weekly threads on here. Thank you all for giving advice.

I got one in a 12 team NON-PPR guys:

Need a WR in flex:
Deebo Thurs nite @ GB... OR
Egbuka Mon nite @ HOU

Remember Non-ppr - Thanks!
That's a really close one, but I think I'd lean Egbuka. I think Evans likely sees more of Stingley.
PPR:

Henry vs Mia
or
Juwan Johnson vs SF?
I like Johnson more this week. I think NE tries really hard to get the run game going this week.
Pick 2 - .5 PPR

Henderson vs MIA
Pearsall vs NO
Coleman vs NYJ
I'd sit Coleman honestly. I'm not a believer, and I think he also has the worst matchup. Pearsall, even with Mac Jones, is a must start out of this group.
1 QB, 6 point for passing TD
Dak Prescott - home vs Giants
Drake May - at Dolphins

Dak looked good against the Eagles, and could have had a big win if CeeDee Lamb makes a couple more catches. Drake Maye looked bad last week against the Cardinals at home.

I'm also worried about the Sun in Miami for a 1 PM game. Weather forecast is for thunderstorms in the morning becoming widespread in the afternoon. Sounds like it would be cloudy, but the forecast UV Index is "Extreme" - sounds like a very sunny day when the storm clouds are not there. The game where McDaniel was officially crowned a Football Galaxy Brain was a 1 PM home game in September.
Dak feels like the way to go to me. Looked WAY better a week ago (in a much tougher matchup) and always plays well against NY.
PPR: Need 1

Diggs vs Mia
Jeudy vs Balt
Jayden Reed vs Wash
I'd go with Jeudy, and hope the likely chase script comes through.
Here is a tough one, for me at least.

Start Matthew Golden tonight or roll the dice on London? I have other options, but these are my best two.
I'd roll the dice on London. He's been limited in practice, and Golden isn't the caliber of player where I'd want to start him and possibly miss on London. Pretty much regardless of what else you have at WR, I'd imagine the difference between them and Golden is a lot smaller than the difference between Golden and London.

1 PT PPR…start 2:

Tyreek v NE
DeVonta Smith @ KC
Deebo Samuel @ GB
Jamo Williams v CHI
I'd sit Williams, until the Lions pass game shows it can support multiple options post-Johnson.
Standard scoring, wrestling with a few flex options, just need one

D.Smith @ Chiefs - week 1, wasn't a big part of what they did but this might be more of a passing game
T.McMillan @ Cardinals - decent-ish week 1, not really sure what to expect
Hollywood vs Eagles - 16 targets last week, sheesh, yet I still don't trust him
KW3/Charbs @ Steelers - bit of a mess which I feared, struggle to trust either now

Thanks!
I think I'd go with McMillan. Could have some point chasing and honestly looked the best in week 1.
PPR last flex spot:

K9 vs Steelers - still not convinced this is suddenly an equal split backfield. Even so, 10-14 touches not a lame play either.
Keenan Allen @ LV - old man juice
Odunze @ DET - not sure I'm yet convinced
I'd lean Walker here. Steelers run D looked awful last week, and I'm not sure Chargers throw near as much against the Raiders as they did KC.
14-team non-PPR, start 3 WRs. Ladd and Jamo are my top two. For WR3, my options are:

Golden vs. WAS
Tillman @ BAL

GB plays tonight so I need to make the decision in the next few hours. All the rankings, projections, etc say Golden but I don't really get it. I hope that by the end of the season he emerges as the true WR1 on that offense, but last week it seemed like the Packers were still in "too many mouths to feed" mode, where you never knew which of the multiple pass-catching options would do well in a particular game.

At TE, my options are:

Henry @ MIA
JJohnson vs SF

Leaning Henry as the safer option, though I am an underdog so maybe I should go with Johnson's higher upside?
I'd go Tillman over Golden. He's a full time player and has actually produced in the NFL. I'd want to avoid GB WRs if I could help it on general, until 1 (hopefully Golden) pulls away a bit.

I'd go with Johnson over Henry, expecting a more run heavy Patriots game against the Dolphins.
0.5 PPR. I seemingly have a ton of WR2/3s lol. Pick 2, and a 3rd if you'd start the last one over Kamara vs. 49ers.
  • DJ Moore vs. Lions
  • Hollywood Brown vs. Eagles
  • Pearsall vs. Saints
  • Devonta Smith vs. Chiefs
  • Waddle vs. Patriots
I wouldn't sit Kamara for any of them. I'd go with Pearsall and Hollywood just due to necessity of them needing to be used often.
4pt passing TDs:

Nix or Maye?
Despite the awfulness of last week, I'd go back to the well on Nix over Maye.
I have a few scattered across various leagues.

PPR - Javonte Williams vs NYG or Jaylen Warren vs SEA?

1.5 PPR for TEs - David Njoku at BAL or Jake Ferguson vs NYG?

6 pts per passing TD league - Mayfield at HOU or Fields vs BUF?
I'd go with Javonte while he seemingly has a touch monopoly.

I'd go Ferguson over Njoku entirely due to matchup, Dak owns NY.

I think Fields is the call over Mayfield. Better matchup, and just higher upside in general.
Pick 2 in a 0.5 ppr

A.J. Brown vs KC
DK Metcalf vs Sea
McLaurin vs GB (Thursday
Pittman vs Denver

Appreciate the input!
I'd go AJ and DK. Brown probably has the best matchup, and DK probably has the best role.
I'm struggling with this one: David Njoku or Juwan Johnson? Njoku disappointed me last week but has been to bounce back from bad games. But Johnson looks like he might be the breakout TE this year.
Johnson, like his matchup a lot more.
Full PPR - looking for flex help. Am starting

RB - Kyren Williams, Breece Hall
WR - Ja,Marr Chase, Ladd McConkey
TE - Jaylen Warren
Flex - ?

Travis Etienne Jr
Tetairoa McMillan
Travis Hunter
George Pickens
Kayshon Boutte
It being PPR, I lean McMillan. Not against starting Etienne, but I think McMillan offers more upside especially in catchup mode.
Another year another set of nail biter decisions. Thanks for the support and running this thread out all season!!!!

Need a WR2 and Flex
Standard scoring/ non-ppr

Monty vs Bears
Jamo Will vs Bears
Coleman @ NYJ (stack w Allen)
Ebuka @ HOU (Evans is my WR 1)
Merrit @ GB
Worthy vs PHIL (questionable/ high risk)
I think Egbuka is the clear option as #2 WR for you. Not afraid of doubling up Bucs WRs. I'll say Monty at flex, as the Lions look to establish the run against the Bears.
David Montgomery against the bears or jaylen warren against the Seahawks?
Monty, feels like higher touch and TD upside,
gross i know but need to choose 1 (PPR)

Reed vs GB
Austin vs SEA
Boutte vs MIA
I guess Reed, at least the game profiles as a potential shootout.
Need a flex in half PPR.

- Ridley vs LAR
- Merritt vs GB
- Kraft vs WAS

Thanks!
This might sound crazy, but I'd actually go Kraft here. I think GB is forced to throw more this week, and I don't like the other guys matchups.

Pick 2: Pearsall, Hunter, and JCM in a .5PPR league?

Chaka - as always, appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Got a choice at QB -
Scoring is 2 pts for every 50 yards passing (5pt bonus for 351+), 1pt per every 5 completions, 6pt TD, -2 INT

Baker Mayfield @ HOU
OR Dak Prescott at home vs NYG

I always like to have a rooting interest on MNF, but I'm leaning Dak. Any thoughts?
I think Dak is your choice. He always owns the Giants.
Thursday night flex special in a deep league (0.5 PPR):

JCM vs GB
Golden vs Wash
Gotta be "Bill" we have no idea if Golden will be involved, whereas JCM is the lead RB it seems.
1 ppr. I need one RB from these two.
KW3
or
Charbonnet

I'll let you all pick for me because I'm sure whoever I picked would be the wrong one.
TIA
Getting nervous about it, but I'd still lean Walker, and hope last week was just easing him in, which it could very well be.

12-team PPR with a TE and two flexes in the starting lineup. Pick two of these three:

Fannin @ BAL
Njoku @ BAL
Montgomery vs CHI

10-team Superflex with 6-point passing TDs:

D Jones vs DEN or
B Young @ ARI

1 ppr. I need one RB from these two.
KW3

Charbonnet

No clue. I probably lean KW3 because conventional wisdom shouldn't be thrown out after week one.

KWIII>Charbonet

Fannin @ BAL
Njoku @ BAL
Montgomery vs CHI

10-team Superflex with 6-point passing TDs:

D Jones vs DEN or

I probably bench Fannin because I wouldn't play two TE from the same team. Then again, it worked okay last week. Still, it's early for me to believe he's a trend.

If it's TE premium scoring I may consider benching Montgomery but, I think last week was game script dependent.

Njoku>Monty>Fannin

Man, Jones goes from probably playing a bottom 3 defense to probably a top 3 defense...

I'm gambling that last week was a bit of an aberration for both.

Bryce>Jones

I can't believe I'm about to type this but JJ McCarthy or Patrick Mahomes
Right now I have Mahomes in the lineup but I'm worried about that Eagles defense

Need a flex..
.5 PPR

Boutte vs Miami
Jameson vs Bears

Currently have Jameson in there but thinking about switching as I have Gibbs as a RB as well

Need a flex..
.5 PPR

Boutte vs Miami
Jameson vs Bears

I'm higher on Jameson than most this season and, last week did give me a little pause but, Green Bay is on fire right now on both sides of the ball.

Detroit should still win a lot of games and score a lot of points. I can't say the same for New England.

The Patriots do have a better matchup but that's about it. If they get a lead on Miami do we think they're going to throw another 40 passes like they did last week? I don't.

If it was full PPR I might consider Boutte but, I just don't think we should be judging the season based on week one.

Jameson>Boutte

Full PPR - Need a flex

WR Calvin Ridley home vs Rams
WR Calvin Austin home vs Seahawks
RB Tyrone Tracy at Cowboys
RB Zach Charbonnet at Steelers

Thanks!

Dak home vs the Giants or Fields home vs the Bills? 6 points per passing TD.
At 6 points per pass TD I think I you have the luxury of starting Dak and seeing if last week was a mirage for Fields.

If you feel you need some kind of monstrous performance and are willing to risk it, then start Fields otherwise:

Dak>Fields

Need a flex..

Thanks.. May have to agree with you.. Good luck this week

PPR league. Need three from this motley crew and one HAS to be a RB:

* D. Mooney @MN -- Not on the injury report. It's a late Sunday game so could get screwed if there's news of a pitch count. Decent matchup.

* J. Jennings @NO -- Hard to trust him. May not be healthy. And Mac Jones. Really not an option.

* I. Pacheco vs PHI -- Terrible matchup. Terrible usage. Probably shouldn't be an option either. Lol.

* K. Boutte @MIA -- Great matchup. Sneaky shootout potential. He's been on a roll. Locked in as the X receiver and Maye may be slinging it.

* T. Tracy @ DAL -- Decent matchup, but the NYG offense as usual...stinks. Got pretty much all the touches last week.

* J. Mason vs ATL -- 50/50 split with A. Jones. Decent matchup. MN wants to run the ball. Should get goal line carries.

Which three?

Right now I'm thinking Mason, Tracy, and Boutte.

Thanks

Chaka - as always, appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Got a choice at QB -
Scoring is 2 pts for every 50 yards passing (5pt bonus for 351+), 1pt per every 5 completions, 6pt TD, -2 INT

Baker Mayfield @ HOU

I always like to have a rooting interest on MNF, but I'm leaning Dak. Any thoughts?

I like Dak here.

I agree with those selections.

Toughest call this week:

Full PPR but 20 yards per point receiving, 10 yards per point rushing

Pick 1:

Quentin Johnston on MNF @ Las Vegas
Kayshon Boutte @ Miami
Cedric Tillman @ Baltimore
Josh Downs vs. Denver
Trey Benson vs. Carolina

I'm buying in on Boutte. Loved his usage and that MIA DEF was (is?) terrible.

Standard Defense scoring with extra points if you hold your opponents under 20 points against.

BUF @ NYJ or AZ vs CAR?
Gotta be AZ here.

I know Baltimore is, Baltimore - but I have serious concerns with the tackling in Buffalo. NYJ can run the ball, have a great O-line, and Feilds seems to be on a mission.

PPR league. 10 team super flex league. Trade question:

I've been offered:

* T. McMillan & M. Golden

For

* E. Egbuka

All of these guys were drafted right near each other. Obviously, Egbuka is off to a hot start, but Godwin is already hitting the practice field.

My other WRs: N. Collins, T. Higgins, G. Pickens

Stand pat or sell high on Egbuka?

Thanks

Can't really argue with your choices. Maybe there is an argument for Pacheco over Tracy but, it's a weak one.

I'm gonna be asking this same question probably every week. First world problem.

Kyler Murray vs CAR or Baker @ HOU

I had this pair last year and made the wrong choice enough to miss my league playoffs because i depended on Kyler's potential way too many times and pretty much ignored that Baker had a career year. My concern with Murray for this week is that AZ may not need to be all that offensive to win this game and Conner/Benson could be a much better play here that the QB and receivers. Baker has the tougher matchup on the road, but that could mean more offense.

So, what say you?

Pick 1:

Quentin Johnston on MNF @ Las Vegas
Kayshon Boutte @ Miami
Cedric Tillman @ Baltimore
Josh Downs vs. Denver

Because it's full PPR I probably bench Downs & Benson. I like QJ a lot but running the ball is in the DNA of Harbaugh and Roman, if they can, IMO they will.

Boutte seems like a good choice, and he may be but I worry that if the Patriots have a lead they're going to run a bunch.

I think Tillman is who I would go with. The Browns can't run, particularly not against Baltimore IMO and the Ravens can score in bunches. Flacco could throw 45 times this week.

Tillman>Boutte>QJ

I assume it's a redraft? In a 10 team SF league, Golden is barely rosterable, IMO, who would you have to drop to keep him?

But, I have no problem trading Tet for Egbuka and, I guess Golden could be a mid/late season wild card league winner.
