I get the optimism, his physical ability jumps off the screen, but he's incredibly raw, doesn't seem to have natural vision or RB instincts yet (converted WR). I think he's a great dynasty add but I'd be really hesitant to add him in a redraft. I think the Lions (Caldwell) are pressing him into service a bit too soon. It could ruin him.rickyg said:I'm all about being premature. Just ask my wife!
In fantasy, premature can be very fruitful. Spotting a player and seeing value in him before the rest of the pack does is something I pride myself on and it's the largest reason why I'm successful at this hobby. I'm consistently placing in the money or winning Super Bowls in my leagues and it's not BC I am good at drafting. It's because every year I pick up a few of the best fa's just sitting in the pool that no one is paying attn to BC it's too premature. But I see something in them. Waiting until they blow up is a recipe for losing out on that player.
If Abdullah is to miss any time Washington is going to get a chance to shine.
What he does with that opportunity (whether he fumbles it away or becomes the next great Rb I the NFL) I can't say. What his coaches decide to do with him moving forward based on what he does I can't say.
What I can say is that I have watched this kid all preseason and he has the goods. And it's a logical assumption that of Abdullah misses time it will be Washington not Zenner who gets a crack at the big back role in Detroit based on him being active and utilized over Zenner in weeks 1 and 2. In that time he's also made the most of his opportunities by scoring a short yardage td and going 4-34 yesterday. Not bad.
You just sold me. Many people said the same thing about David Johnson last year. Don't get me wrong, he's not the next "whoever", but it's much easier for a guy to switch to RB while retaining WR skills out of the backfield. Could be a nice weapon to stash for later in the year if the price is right. He's got good size for a RB and decent long speed. I'll take that in a FA market that is dried up already.I get the optimism, his physical ability jumps off the screen, but he's incredibly raw, doesn't seem to have natural vision or RB instincts yet (converted WR). Torn Achilles, late August.Someone remind me, is Branden Oliver still on the Chargers or did he get hurt? If not, who else do they have after Gordon?

Flint Fireballs! said:Actually, I am in complete agreement with this. The two in front of him are so effective, but they're smaller, pass catchers. He's going to force a committee this season and be a superstar next season.
I drank the Washington koolaid in the preseason and drafted him in the last round of my keeper league. Is it premature to anoint him the second coming of David Johnson? Of course it is. Is it possible that this kid can be a breakout candidate? Absolutely. I'd rather have him on the end of my bench and bet on his upside than have a middling fifth or sixth WR.rickyg said:Totally agree on Dwayne Washngton. If this guy gets 15-20 touches in a game look out. The next star Rb will be born. Kid is just as electric as they come. He is good enough to relegate Abdullah and riddick to backups and passing down backs.
Thanks. I thought I remembered something about him being hurt, but wasn't sure if that was from last year. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure he went on IR last year as well.Torn Achilles, late August.

for redraft.... im not buying this, they just paid theo riddick. as long as theo is healthy it severly limits abdullah and washington's upside. abdullah's injury doesnt appear to be long term and he was playing well before he got hurt. i dont see the upside here in re-draft.I drank the Washington koolaid in the preseason and drafted him in the last round of my keeper league. Riddick is cemented as the receiving back but, as well as he's been running, he's not built to run between the tackles.for redraft.... im not buying this, they just paid theo riddick. as long as theo is healthy it severly limits abdullah and washington's upside. abdullah's injury doesnt appear to be long term and he was playing well before he got hurt. i dont see the upside here in re-draft.
I believe he will be the "lead" back but will mix duties with Tolbert and CAP. I think Fozzy might be worth the pick-up regardless of how bad Stew's injury is.Is Fozzy the back to own in Carolina while Stewart is out? Just lost Foster and I'm not leaning on Ajayi
Somebody dropped him in my auction league last week. Was really hoping to get him cheap-ish in blind-bids this week, but that ain't happening now.ponchsox said:How much FAAB on McKinnon?
Cameron Artis-Payne. Fozzy was the JStew back-up because he plays special teams - if Stewart is out pick up CAP. Take a look here...it backs up my assessment. CAP is the backup to JStew. http://blackandbluereview.com/jonathan-stewart-hamstring-injury/Fozzy.

Or Spiller, perhaps? With the slew of injuries I wouldn't be surprised if some guy gets signed off the street... Karlos Wiliams for instance.
Maybe. If he couldn't learn the Saints playbook in the amount of time he had there, though, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence someone will call him to help immediately. I suppose if someone is really desperate and/or willing to simplify things way down for him...Or Spiller, perhaps?
Do you mean "Week 3" in the title??
Which Washington?Would have to rank them like this right now:
1. Washington
2. Fozzy
3. McKinnon
4. Asiata
Pretty sure Dwayne even though imo deandre is a stud in the waiting. Wish I could hold onto him. Short bench league. I released David Johnson last year early because I needed bye week fill ins. Ooff. Hope deandre isn't a repeatWhich Washington?
Same boat for me. I'm pretty sure his season is done. I am desperately hoping for no news until Wednesday. Otherwise my $3 bid will need to go up by a lot to winI have abdullah and am wondering if I should drop for dwayne. Seems kinda premature without hearing confirmation of lis franc
to much here imo. Asiata will be used quite a bit and probably at goaline. He probably isn't available in most leagues--but if he is available--I'd say easily 50-70%--and possibly more for peterson owners. Just depends on what news comes out on AP before waivers run.
I like this list and will build on it.Would have to rank them like this right now:
1. Washington
2. Fozzy
3. McKinnon
4. Asiata
From what I can tell he offers a different running style than any other back on the roster. He should be a goal line vulture which Abdullah is/was not. Pair that with most other carries and Riddick in as a passing back I think you could have a pretty strong rb2/3. You could do worse on the ww right nowWhat are you all seeing in Dwyane Washington that puts him at #1? and what about expected usage in next few games? I watched the condensed game film and saw a lot MORE of Riddick after Abdullah went out-- one strong run by Washington -
WoodheadFrom all these injuries do we know that anyone is out for the year?
Thanks for this. Couldn't really tell much unfortunately. Some enormous holes on the first two runs and then the third run he wasn't patient enough to wait for his block.
Am I the only one who can't play these videos on my phone? I even tried the app...
