Week 3 who should I start thread **OFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Just got a sleeperbot alerts that Dalvin Cook is unlikely to play.

DeAndre Hopkins is likely to play.

I'm coming into Week 3 with Antonio Brown, Landry, Jeudy, and most likely Higgins on my bench.  I need to play 3 WR and WR/RB and WR/TE flex. So, I'm starting Davante Adams, Thielen and Watkins off the waiver wire against Detroit.

If Higgins is out, my best options for WR/TE are TIm Patrick vs NJY or Logan Thomas @ Buff, both off the waiver.

My dilemma, I've got to drop a player.  Jeudy, Landry, or Michael Carter, my 5th RB? I'm struggling between keeping Landry or Jeudy.  I could resolve by dropping Carter?

Help a guy out.

Edit:  Eh... PPR
Tough calls all around. Seems like Patrick & Thomas are seeing similar usage. Denver has a great matchup but I'm not sure how that translates for Patrick. Washington has a tough matchup but that may actually work in Thomas's favor.

Total gut call says Thomas over Patrick.

For who to drop I kinda want to say Landry. He's a very good player but Cleveland looks deeply committed to running first, last and always. Landry was leading the WRs with a measly 3 targets/game, both TEs are averaging 4 and that was without OBJ in the lineup. Even if Mayfield starts throwing 30 balls/game (25.5 right now) I don't ever see a game plan where they decide to throw 40. So any big passing games will probably be dependent on the other team hanging big points against them, which is always tough to predict.

It's a bold move but, for redrafts, I think it's the right one.

Mattison or Javonte williams
I think you have to go with Mattison if Cook is officially out (I saw an alert saying he is "unlikely").

He's in line for starting RB touches on a team that likes to have their RB involved 3 downs.

I like Javonte but his usage is liky capped by Gordon.

Here's a fun one... Trey Sermon vs Ty'son Williams. (PPR)

Sermon, barring an extreme showing of Shanhanagins, will be the unquestioned lead back against GB's 4th worst run Def in a potentially high scoring game. Yet we have seen only one real game carry (a nice run fwiw) for the rookie and he is coming off a short recovery week from a brutal hit and concussion. The 49ers are averaging 24 RB rushes and 4 targets per game after the first two weeks.

Williams, who is in an inexplicable 50% timeshare split with Murray, has done nothing but ball out the last two weeks (22/142/1 run and 5/45 on 6 targets) and ranks 3rd in the league behind Henry and Chubb in yards after contact per attempt (min 20 carries). The Ravens are on the road against the leagues worst Def in the Lions. Muddying the waters is a slew of COVID listed players on Def (less opportunity for a run based salt it away win, but maybe more work in the receiving game for TW?), Lamar Jackson with an illness (more RB carries?), and their starting left tackle out with injury (less effective run game?). The Ravens are averaging 22.5 RB rushes and 3 targets per game after the first two weeks; Williams is the only RB on the roster with a target so far this year.

I'm starting one of these guys over ARob (want to see the Fields connection before plugging him in), but for the life of me, can't figure out which one. I'm leaning Williams given the matchup and seemingly higher floor, but I think Sermon has the higher upside in terms of ability, scheme, and shootout potential in this game.

I'm 2-0 going up against one of the top ship contending teams and an early win here would be huge.

What would you do?

Ty'son first, last and always (this week). Guaranteed volume, very good production, double plus good matchup.

We know nothing about Sermon yet.
Agreed...hard to put him ahead of Ty'son at this point.  Even with this matchup.  You just don't know with Sermon or Shannahan right now.   You have a decent idea of the volume Ty'son will see.

Probably Gordon out of those four Insomniac

DHop (questionable) or Boyd (Higgins out) in full PPR?

D Hopkins or Mike Williams?

Thinking Hopkins might play a decoy or sit the second half in what might be a blowout. Chargers should be passing all 4 quarters.

Am I overthinking this ?

Has Henderson been ruled out? I read it was an issue of pain tolerance for whether or not he was going to play.

If he's out I can absolutely see starting him but I really don't like the matchup. TB can take away opposing running games with their defense and their offense. I am not sure I trust Michel to be a factor in the passing game. Then again we have never seen him in a McVay offense.

Javonte has a defined role and has a very favorable matchup (trap game?). He has been running strong so far too. But Melvin is a big part of this offense too and his presence caps Javonte.

I like Javonte better as a player but I probably lean Michel.
Thx. Henderson expected to sit from what I just read.

I happen to be very, very high on Williams. He's getting #1 WR high % targets for the first time in his career and he is capitalizing. They also have dedicated red zone & goal line packages for him. Herbert also clearly trusts him in key moments.

Tough to bench Hopkins ever but I think this is Williams's career year.

12 team league, 1 ppr

Who do I start at flex

Edmonds/RB @ Jax

Moore/WR @ Jax

T.Williams./RB @ Detroit
Williams all day every day.

I am truly shocked at the number of people who distrust Ty'son. He is seizing this job IMO. Plus the matchup could not be better.

.5 ppr

Pick a rb

Drake vs mia

Or

Gaskin @ oak

Or

Pollard vs phi

Pick a wr

Julio vs Indy

Or

Devonta smith @ dallas

Daniel Jones or Ryan Tannehill? My opponent's one of top 3 scoring teams, I'm middle of the pack thus far. Could really use a juiced up effort from my QB.

Golladay, R. Moore, or C. Patterson. Pick one, half ppr and full ppr(two leagues same choice).

Ugh.  14 team league, PPR.

With Higgins out I have to choose between starting Cordarrelle Patterson or DJ Chark for my 3rd WR spot.

I feel like they are letting Jones run more which leads to a higher floor for sure.  I think I'm going there between the two.

I lean Drake because he is always a factor in the passing game and I think he may get more carries as the Raiders realize Peyton Barber is pedestrian. Plus maybe he has a little extra juice vs Miami.

Indy is a bad team right now and I don't trust Hurts yet. Julio

I see an easy win for Tennessee.

The Giants should also win but I am less confident. Engram is back and they haven't demonstrated that Barkley is ready to roll.

Would you start Javante williams vs jets over drake?

Tough call between Moore & Patterson for me. I like Golladay but I have no idea how he fits into that offense yet.

Moore is probably the right call.

Barkley's back up is inactive today. Barkley is ready to roll.

Full PPR

Alexander Mattison - Vikings home vs Seahawks (4 PM Start)

Damien Harris - Patriots home vs Saints (1 PM Start)
Does Harris have an injury designation? I like his volume and he looks solid.

Mattison should get good touches too.

Tough call. Probably Mattison.

Standard Scoring, need to pick one of these three running backs.  All three are in some form of shared backfield.

Kenyon Drake vs. Miami

James Conner at Jacksonville

Devin Singletary versus Washington
