Week 4 who should I start thread **OFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

Non-ppr:

Assuming AJ Brown sits, Marquise Brown or Diontae Johnson if he plays?

I'm leaning Marquise as he's healthier and has a much better qb, plus Lamar is my qb so would have that stack.  Negatives of course are a pretty good Denver D and all the drops last week.  Appreciate any insight.

PPR...debating on Sanders or CEH at RB2 (KC @ Philly).

Leaning Sanders (I think he bounces back and catches passes); however, I could also see KC run more if they get a decent lead.

I gotta say if Dionte plays he has been a target sponge. I know Pitt offense looks terrible all the way up and down but, I don't know, I have a pure gut feeling based on no analysis at all that this turns into a pride game for Pitt and they keep it closer than anyone thinks.

I lean Dionte.

Sanders has been a really tough call for me this week.  I absolutely agree that Philly will try to correct their game plan issues they showed on Monday so Sanders makes the most sense.

What I am having trouble with is the fact that Sanders popped off a bit to the media about the running game and I have no idea how that sits with Siriani. I also think there is a good chance that KC simply takes charge of this game and puts Philly in a situation where they have to abandon the game plan again.  CEH had a good game last week...yeah this is a tough call.

Sanders is a better player than CEH IMO.

I lean Sanders by a very small margin and may change my mind.

Gotta pick one to play with Cooks(I’m man enough)

Boyd vs JAX

Woods vs ARZ

Kirk vs LAR

M Brown vs DEN

A Brown vs NE

I’m leaning Boyd with Tee out

I like Boyd with Tee out as well.

The only one I would truly consider above him is Robert Woods, mostly because it should be a high scoring affair with Arizona and I think there is a correction coming at some point between him and Cupp.

I think you should also at least consider Antonio Brown as Gronk missed practice today.  If Gronk is out I think that opens up things for the other TB pass catchers. If Gronk is in, I think Tom Brady will do everything he can to make sure every TB score is a pass to Gronk.

But you have to make a decision about Boyd today.

Boyd is probably the correct call

Non-PPR

Need 3 (max 2 RB)  from this group.  My current leanings are bolded

  • Mike Davis
  • JJ Taylor
  • TySon Williams
  • Terrace Marshall
  • Elijah Moore (Q)
  • Sterling Shepard (Q) - assuming he's healthy
  • Quez Watkins
  • Sammy Watkins

Your calls look good.

Sammy Watkins is your call if Shepard is out IMO. I might consider him over Shepard if he's limited.

Yeah, Sammy's next-up. This is a contract league and I lost Hill and Adams from last year's squad. CMC was enough to hide the WR weakness for a couple of weeks, but...

JJ Taylor could surprise, but I don't think I would start him yet

I agree that Boyd is probably the right call, although Woods will start to perform consistently at a higher level...possibly starting this weekend.

I know you should never let real football rooting interest impact magic football decisions but darn it if I'm not thinking about starting Derek Carr over Josh Allen.

The way Carr is playing it's not too crazy of a decision, right?

I already have Herbert, Mike Williams, Ruggs & hopefully Josh Jacobs going on Monday night.
It is crazy this weekend. Allen is playing against Houston. Don't overthink this. Texans showed some muster with Tyrod, but Mills is going again and Houston will surrender a lot of points by playing panic catch up.

Agreed.  Woods is tough to slot right now, I totally understand benching him and I also understand deciding to ride-or-die with him.

got 1 more, ppr flex

Corey Davis vs Ten

Waddle vs Indy
Man.

Uhhhhh...flip a coin? I guess I like Davis sort of. Waddle's targets are trending in the right direction but his ypc is certainly not.  Actually Davis looks almost identical in both categories.

Maybe Waddle because he at least has a veteran QB who is less likely to implode than Wilson.

Yeah, I stand by flip a coin but on my team I probably go with Waddle because...reasons.

Sorry,  wish I could provide any insight at all but I'm at a loss on that one.

GO RAIDERS!!!

Jonathan Taylor @ Miami or Zack Moss v Houston?

I feel Moss right now because I don't want to completely miss out on the Buffalo offense considering it is obvious to any and all that Derek Carr is the play over Josh Allen this week.

But that Miami defense just made Peyton Barber look like Tiki Barber*. Are Indy and Taylor so bad that we don't anticipate any kind of correction coming?

*But that could also be because everything Jon Gruden touches on offense turns to gold.

.5PPR and I'm debating my FLEX spot:

  • James Robinson @ CIN (TNF) - will he actually get touches like last week?
  • Gronk @ NE - both Gronk & Brady back in NE...
  • Eli Mitchell v. SEA - is he back to the lead back in SF?
Fwiw, my other starters are:

  • QB: Allen
  • RB: Ekeler, Gibson
  • WR: Ridley, Godwin
  • TE: Kelce

Really liked that J.Robinson got involved last week and I am really inclined to say he is plug'n'play.

I don't like Mitchell only because he's coming.off a shoulder that was pretty bad.

But there is something about Gronk & Brady going to NE. I just think Brady is going to try to get Gronk 100 TDs. If Gronk was healthy & practicing it would be an easier decision but he's not.

I have to lean Robinson on this one.

Honestly I think you gotta go #revengegameGronk here and know he's going to get a handful of redzone targets even at less than 100%, which isn't something you can say for certain about Robinson and Mitchell.

My thinking as well. Brady knows that Gronk is the odd man out with the national media attention squarely on him then Belichik.l and will want to remind them that Gronk can Gronk.

I wouldn't blame anyone for benching J.Rob for Gronk, and I might on my team as well but I still like J.Rob as a "smarter" fantasy play.

Anyone starting Joe Burrow tonight? I'm starting him over Dak, mainly because I want that Thursday Night Football scoring fix, which never happens.  But I'm due!

I'm considering it. My normal starter is Lamar Jackson...who didn't practice today.

PPR

Trying to pick between Goedert or Logan Thomas @ TE. Leaning Thomas.

With AJ Brown surely out, I also need to pick 2 for flex spots. C. Patterson, ARob, Antonio Brown, Pollard, Aiyuk, Claypool & Sermon are my choices.

I have Patterson & ARob in now, but not too confident with ARob...

JT for me

JT for me
Is that a more guaranteed volume thing, do you just think he's that much better or is it the combo where you think Reich is going to finally realize Wentz is a liability with his injury and finally game plan around his best player?

It would be tough to bench him for a timeshare guy, particularly when Singletary is performing so well.

JT is the superior talent. At some point, they have to realize they need to give him the ball...like last year

I hope so but it's tough to bench a performer like Moss, particularly when all signs point to a very positive game script even for a superior talent who is on a team that appears to be in a free fall.

Is it even a questionable call for you, or.do you feel it's an easy call?

Are you a start your studs guy? If so can we really call Taylor a true stud at point?

Lots of studs are under performing this year. Talent always prevails

PPR Flex Renfro or Pittman.  Thanks.
Love, love, love 3rd & Renfrow but he still splits target a lot more than Pittman.

Raiders probably have an opponent that will challenge them to score more than Miami. But, at least early in the season Pittman has been pretty much matchup proof.

Much as I love Renfrow I lean Pittman.

Andrews (@ DEV) or Giseki (vs INDY)

Drafted Andrews and just picked up Giseki.

Mostly planning to roll w/ Andrews this week and moving forward and Giseki was a pre-emptive bye week fill in but Giseki intrigues me....

I think you have to go with Logan Thomas. He's maximizing his targets and doesn't have to contend with another target at his position.

I agree with Patterson and agree you should reconsider A.Robinson. Deciding his replacement is a tougher question.

Claypool was a target hog last week but he just showed up on the injury report and it looks like Diontae is a go for Sunday.

I need to see more consistency from Aiyuk because of his slow start.

It sounds like Elijah Mitchel is going to try to play but he seems to be clearly in pain, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sermon get the majority of touches.

With Gronk being listed as Doubtful Brown is very tempting.

Brown>Claypool/Sermon>A.Rob>Aiyuk

Definitely some tough choices.

Standard Scoring (need 1)

Nuk vs LA Rams

Godwin vs NE
Instinctively I want to say Hopkins but Murray is spreading the ball around all over the place and Hopkins has been limited by injury.

Godwin seems like the better play particularly with Gronk now doubtful.

PPR: J. Williams or T. Patrick or Juju?

Gracias!
I gotta say Javonte because there is big downside to all of them, I just see Javonte's as the least.

JuJu has an injury status and Diontae is apparently going to play. Gotta eliminate him.

Patrick has definitely produced consistently but I hate his opportunity consistency. There has been zero shift since Jeudy went down.

It's a tough matchup but Javonte has the volume & enough production.

I go Javonte.

If Gibson is out, I have to choose between Sermon and Gainwell....If Mitchell is out, I'm likely rolling Sermon.  Problem is, it's a 4 pm game and Gainwell as at 1.

Is Sermon the no brainer no matter what?

I some good options in one league, but need to choose correctly because Bengals D disappointed on Thursday.

I have to sit one of

Mike Williams vs Oak
D. Waller at Chargers
Cee Dee Lamb vs Carolina

Which one sits in a PPR? Thanks.
